    Incredible introduction. I'm beginner and trying to start with synths by implementing software modules. What a roster for different ideas you present here sir!

    Professor Quincas to the rescue! Such a nice lesson worthy of a college level class on synthesis!

    19:58 anyone remember The Clangers. British children's TV programme from the 70's. He nailed the sound here, lol.

    Wow, I’m still at the start of the video class, but I learned or refreshed so many things about synths and sound. Thanks.

    this is the synth that I wish had existed six years ago along with Intellijel Cascadia when I started.

    Good call on cv over A and D with the envelopes . I can think of a few non-educational semi-modular synths that have come out recently that do not have that. I hate no cv over decay. It’s like give me a break.

    Can this synth be mounted in a Eurorack case?

    • @QuincasMoreira
      @QuincasMoreira 7 місяців тому +1

      Hi, no, it’s a standalone synth, quite a bit taller than Eurorack modules

    Hi there, I was thinking about how synth companies don't value content creators like yourself and wanted to make sure; has Erica Synth sent you free gear to review/ build?

    • @QuincasMoreira
      @QuincasMoreira  7 місяців тому +3

      Hi! Thanks for your question. I do get to keep the gear I demo, and I even get paid very fairly by the manufacturer for creating this content! Can't complain :)

    Hi, i don’t understand what you meen with below 20hz is rhythm and not a pitch.

    • @daemonicflame
      @daemonicflame 9 місяців тому +1

      cant hear below 20kz, speakers normally make it sound like clicks.

      Humans can only hear pitch if the vibrations are between 20 Hz and 20.000 Hz. Anything above is ultrasounds, and anything below is infrasounds.
      Thus, a vibration below 20 Hz in frequency won't really be "heard", but "felt" instead. Let's do an example with a rpeating series of clicks: if I speed these clicks up to 440 times per second, so 440 Hz, you'll hear a note, namely note A. But if i slow these clicks way down, say to only 2 times per second, that's 2 Hz. Or 120 BPM. You won't hear any pitch, but you can definitely bob your head to it.
      So there's a threshold, and it is found at 20 Hz. Anything faster will be heard as pitch, and sound, and anything slower will instead be a rhythm.
