I’ve been coming up to lake of the woods in the summer from the states for 26 years now minus a year for Covid. It’s not a meat mission any more and there’s way better places in the states (for me) if I wanted to take home a mess of fish. That’s not really why I go up there any more. I’m glad they did something with the regs cause the last 2 years it’s been rough fishing imo
@@joelalvestad5999 I think I would agree with that, they really need to start pushing the conservation licenses. Save money and you can still take enough for a meal while you’re up there. I also think the resorts need to push the perch fishing. There’s some giant perch in Lotw right now and they’re relatively easy to catch. There isn’t the same level of excitement around them on LOTW as there is in the Dakota’s in the states and I don’t understand why. I actually prefer eating them over eyes.
Friend of mine owns Obabikon Bay Camp, he said last year he had to break ice most of the way there, May 1 out of Morson, at least I think it was last year... maybe the year before when the water was crazy high, regardless doesn't look fun, except for the fishin part lol.
curious what the ontario resident limit is?
4 fish , under 17”

I've been told the first nation tribes have been going hard netting during covid around kenora.
@@catchonedrinktwo that is definitely BS check your sources. No one takes more fish out of lotw then the resorts do.
Something to be said for LOTW scenery for sure

Use some velcro on that troller for your scope cable.. Quick on and off and if the cable jams it releases.
Nope, makes too much sense
