  • I had lots of great suggestions on what to cook in the IKEA ramekins I recently bought, thank you everybody who commented. The ramekins are quite a decent size and cost £3 each - I should have bought 4!! what was I thinking? Ikea brain fog I reckon.
    hope you enjoy...

    Thank you for putting these videos out. You encouraged me to invest in a dual air fryer and I have only used my oven a couple of times since I bought it. A frugal tip is to use granulated sugar in your baking, it is fine enough for just about all cakes and puddings.

    • @budgetcookinguk
      @budgetcookinguk  Рік тому

      Oh that's amazing Pamela, it must save some energy not using the oven - and using an Airfryer instead, they're so much quicker for one thing. Top tip re granulated sugar, I've used it before for cakes perfect stuff, just had caster sugar in stock 😃👌💕

      @@budgetcookinguk back in the day 60s my Mum had a tea towel with very little colour in it (no dye to leach) she would lay out the floured towel line it with greaseproof paper, nowadays baking parchment and roll out the mixture on top then scatter the dried fruit roll it up tie the ends put it in her biggest saucepan with an upside down plate in the bottom and a little water and steam it checking the water level all the time. of course this is all tempered by time and my patchy memory but I'm convinced that what it looked like when unrolled got it it's original comical nickname, it was only in poncy houses where these things were made in pudding basins
