Jamerson would have been so thrilled & delighted that even after almost 40 years after his death, that someone not only recognized his innovative artistry on the bass, but went so far as, to master his bass lines with all the same skill & nuance that he breathed into those original lines himself. You’re quite a bass player and keeper of the Jamerson flame. He’d be so grateful to know that you’re carrying his torch into the next generation of players. Well done young man. Just realized that bass is so cool coz you can solo for the entire song and it wouldnt piss anyone off. As a guitar player, it just dawned on me that i should have played bass🤦🏾♂️🤣

I first heard or really paid attention to James Jamerson on the theme song to a show called, China Beach. The Supremes version of Reflections was the theme song. I was just learning the bass. James Jamerson just took off on the bass. I was blown away. It was like a Bass Guitar lead. I had to find out who this Bassiest was.
That is a shocking experience. I would have done the same thing...

Let me recommend a dear friend of mine that's able to duplicate to a "T" that Motown textural sound. He worked for years with Norman Whitfield; both at Motown and Whitfield Records. His name is Leanard Jackson.

i tell you this. highlighting the bassline makes the line a second primary voice and lets you know how musicians in a band hear things.. listen to the bass. feel the percussion

What amp are you using for recording ? If it is direct what do you use ? I would like to record but don't know what I should use!
I used a mic preamp that was in the shop. I don't remember the brand, I don't use a bass amp

ジェームズジェマーソンって弦高凄く高めで他の人は弾けたものじゃなかったと聞きますが、このサウンドに反映されてるんでしょうね。自分は軟弱なので低めですが。
コントラバスのように太いゲージで高めで弾いてたようですね！自分も軟弱なので低めです

@@user-to2di8rt6s この時は3年前とかでまだ弦高は低めでした。あとジェマーソンみたいなベヴィーゲージでの弦高は自分は軟弱なのでむりです(おそらくコントラバスに近い感じだったでしょう)
