TLC Mammoth Guide for ARK: Survival Evolved

- In this video I will show you all of the new changes and improvements that have been made to the Mammoth with the third TLC update in ARK: Survival Evolved.
TLC 3 introduces a few new skills for the mammoth, it can now attack in 4 different ways! It can sweep it's truck, it can stomp the ground, it can intimidate others with a trumpeting roar and it can pick up and throw creatures with it's trunk!
If that wasn't enough, the Mammoth can also now hold 2 people on its saddle with the passenger getting a sweet war drum which buffs players with improved stamina regen and immunity to fear!

One thing you missed with the mammoth is that if you use the roar while standing in water the mammoth will hose you and itself down with water which fills your thirst/ water (I've heard that if you are on fire it will also put it out, But I'm not sure about it. I haven't tested it for myself).

Fun fact: with the mammoth, if you are in water and you use the intimidation move, the mammoth will spray water onto its back and behind it. I’m not sure if you could use this to cool off or not, but it’s nice to have nonetheless. You can spray water one time after you walk back onto land.

The drum buffs the mammoth if it has someone riding it, like how you transfer the xp boost of an explorer note if you take it while riding a dino
one thing about the new TLC mammoths you didnt mentioned is this, "they taste best served with berries at a grillparty with friends"
I just want to see a row of mammoths with different kinds of war paint so it could look like something out of lord of the rings the return of the king

1:40 mammoth are notorious for having low torp. You can accidentally k/o one you’re riding by doing the alt attack repeatedly. Thankfully you can cryo sleeping Dinos now!

What i realy want be added to ark that when u fly on a dino or ride it u can see ur hands holding the saddle it would make the game more realistic

it would be cool if you could do harder songs for a better effect

Only thing I wish with the mammoth is that it was classified in the game as a large creature. Currently, every carnivore attacks this thing, which is irritating when walking through the swamp and you get those damn kapros flying into your face or carnotaurs goring your legs and bleeding you.

Tip starve the mammoth till it’s food bar is half way force feed it narco berries to keep it down once it’s half way feed it berries and it will take really fast

I found it in a different video. It’s the “A” button (basically the button you use to “jump”)

I was kinda hoping the mammoth would be able to blow water out through its trunk but regardless I’m happy that the mammoth finally got a tlc on pc
It can actually, going into water and roaring causes it to spout water on the rider, refilling their hydration bar and cooling them down. It also seems to be able to store it for a short period.

The war drums should buff friendly dinos
It's not that good of a buff, it's only immunity to Yuri and increased stam gain
And the duration is miserable, they sure like their short timers. Like that waste of existence food that gives dinos 2 mins of radiation immunity!! Seriously, if you have a half dozen dinos going into a rad zone to farm or whatever the case may be, you would have to stop every minute to reapply the buff to each dino.... you would get nothing done and burn thru a crazy amount of mats.

Last year I tamed a 150 female and a 150 male. After taming them I didn't see any point in breeding. Maybe I'll pop them out of my Pokeball's and give them another look.
Btw for mobile players there mobile favorite kibble is rapter egg
By the way there needs to be a rider for the drum buff to effect dinos

We just did a war mammoth March with my 10 friends and 5 mammoths we marched completely

Can anyone tell me if there is a stomp attack on console and if so how to use it? I have yet to find it. On PS4 hit the s button to perform stomp attack according to an article I read. I hope this helps someone.

Hm what about the taming hud? I thought they added that but it didn’t seem so for you
The hud is available in the inventory, you can see an icon for it in the upper middle of the screen. It really is only useful for multiple tames. Just looking at a single tame will still only bring up one tame window, just s before.
0:01 whats with the walk cycle? Looks like its leg is hurt :/
The animation looks like it is still using the shorter old leg length
If you go to a source of water (river or ocean)
The mammuth will be able to give you water be doing the "roar" its cool
My mammoth mainly farms straw and hardly any wood. Who knows why
