Great to listen to while doing housework, sorting miscellaneous papers and the like. Means one is not "doing nothing" and gets work done. Thanks a mill for download.
Every time I listen to these I think it's so funny how Agatha Christie portrays Jane Hilier. It's so obvious that although she's beautiful to look at, she has the brains of a black beetle, lol. She has no hobbies, or interests except herself, and no one has anything at all in common with her. She can barely follow a conversation. I think the only reason she gets invited is for ornamental reasons to ensure that the gentlemen show up. I think it's very honest of Christie to portray her like this. So many novels of the period have female protagonists or characters who are gorgeous, talented, AND brilliant; yet in life, it rarely works out like that. There aren't that many people walking around perfect in every category. It's more common that a person will have two out of three, ie. they might be intelligent and talented but not gorgeous, or gorgeous and talented, but not intelligent. It's nice to see characters realistically drawn. I also think it's funny that she has the male characters willing to overlook anything that she says, no matter how stupid, as long as they can look at her. The doctor especially seems to spend most of his time in these vignette just sitting and staring at her. I think that's one of the reasons her books have stood the test of time; her characters are just so realistic.
I respect Insects; Listening to Miss Hillier drives me mad! How does she remember her lines? 🤨🤪🤯 - then again, cudos to the narrator for giving us such an annoying character 😬🙄
Contrary to stated titles for the videos, these are taped audio readings. "GOOD JOB"! Could I work for you? At least I could get the thumbnail titles and the actual presentation to match...... I realize that may a radical concept for those involved with producing the videos, but just something that may be worth considering.
No one can read Miss Marple as wonderfully as Joan Hickson.

I've got this in book form 13 Problems, but you can listen while doing other things like ironing. When you can't read a book.
When Joan does the character of Dolly Bantry I’d swear she’s mimicking Gwen Watford who played Dolly Bantry in her own Miss Marple BBC tv series!
I always thought so too!

I saved all of these just love Miss Marple.. thank you thank you thank you!!!
John Hickson is the best MISS MARPLE of them all her age voice and acting proves the point brilliant .

13 problems. 6 cd's /vids. So... Which one holds three?
I'm skipping around. But 3 within a 70 or so minute limit? One very short?
Thank you I felt too lazy to read
