@@GreenAquaShop Wait, so it's going down then? If the issue is tanks in the gallery-- how about just make it a dojo hardscape contest and let us vote online? ;)
An honor and privilege to be hosted at Green Aqua and challenge the world's greatest layouter! Also thanks to Green Aqua for helping us film a short vid on the TRAINING method of Speed Scaping: ua-cam.com/video/vCM7NqenvvI/v-deo.html A good vid for beginner's to learn the method-- how to train like a TAU member and sharpen your aquascaping skills. Much Aloha to the beautiful world of aquascaping! (Also I figured out why I keep accidentally saying "wonderful", it's because Josh did it too and it stuck in my head-- blame the master course and Balazs' sense of humor)
Wow, now that's what I call a real speedscaping session, I learned a lot from your video from the link! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for visiting us Steve, doing these wonderful scapes for us, assisting Fukada san with interpreting and with helping him scape. 💪🏻😎
Both tanks look amazing! But I must say, Steve's tank really is something 👍! Different, and I love how the hardscape was used. Would be awesome if it was possible to see how it's looking by now.
Fantastic job all around! I have to say both tanks are amazing with each one having their own idea. If i had to select one it would be Steve cause I love the bold look of the aquascape. Having Filipe as the final judge, who could ask for anyone better than the master himself. The other thing to consider in this video is SPORTSMANSHIP, even though it was a competition, both men complimented each others work. With Takayuki Fukada as the master and Steven Chong as his apprentice, the relationship between each other and compassion of each other work really shows. THANK YOU Green Aqua for setting up this friendly competition!
You are welcome, we really enjoyed these moments with the two Japanese scapers and learned a lot from them. I think there will come a time when Steve will beat Fukada san. But as with all art contest everybody has their own favorite. :) Difficult to judge.
So amazing work takauki and Steven both are awesome in this hobby...they are professional in this. One tank is full of plants and give more space for maintenance also... second tank is full of rocks and woods, steven use whole space of tank for make natural rock looks, it's imaging idea, he is my favorite also. Both tanks are full of inspiration for us....green aqua make my day with video...I m miss Balazs sir so much...Balazs sir make update video on your home planted tank.. thanks green aqua for boost this hobby..
Hi guys! Great way to start the day. I don't regret on picking Fukada's work but I understand why UA-cam picked Steven's work now. In picture looks bold, more impressive but live, Fukada's tank is more impressive, this why the audience there picked his tank too. Some tanks look better in picture than live, but we need to take in consideration the time the tank will need to mature and Fukada's tank will look more impressive afterwards. Take good care of yourself and stay safe.
I totally agree with you Filipe, there is a huge difference between how these tank look on images and video and in real life... Thanks for being here again, you added a much needed color to the weekend. Cheers!
I would have paid $700 CAD for that tank. And even then it would have been a deal. In Canada, the rock alone might have cost that. The tank would have been about $250. Rock like that is around $10/kg, looked like he used close to 50kg, around $60 for that much wood. Plants would have cost at least $50. Substrate around $50. So in total it would have cost just under $1000 for me to buy all the stuff to do it myself. Can I place an order for three of them? What a deal! It was so nice! They both were, but I liked Steven's better. More dramatic.
It's not about the money, it's about the love of scaping, but yeah, I get your point Andrew. Also, I'm glad you like the creations, and thanks for the vote! :)
Great work! Such a speed - from empty tank to ready composition with 90 min. I've spent about a 6 hours for my latest 57l aquarium. The work of Fukada san is more natural and relaxing, but Steven's tank is a drive, youth, rebel. Very fresh design. But painful maintenance, I suppose :)
I don’t know if we are supposed to make a vote for the scape we prefer but Mr S. Chong’s is so much better. It’s less busy and a lot tidier than the older gentleman’s scape. However, speedscaping is not a good idea. It should be thought provoking, relaxing and therapeutic. Just what we need at the present time. Great video guys, nicely presented Tommy. Kind regards to Balazs.
Cheers, thx for the regards! Well, I think speedscaping is a good practicing of your scaping skills, I agree with Steven there. The more scaping one does the better his or her works will be, no question about it. Most will scape a tank, watch it for 2 years and then do another one. This means that they will do some 10 scapes in 20 years. That is just too little.
What's the plant id of the rear left side of the tank ( Takayuki Fukada ). Is it limophila sp vaitnam? Then where is the 4 cup echinodorus tenellus. Please help me.
Loved it. Fukada san's scape is very traditional and classic. Awesome!!!, however, Steven's scape is so much more bolder and almost like a IAPLC style scape.Love it.. Thats my fav.
It depends on the tank size relative to the filter size, the big round one was not maintained for a year now, haha, and still healthy, spotless... :) Will do a video on that. But I would say at our current gear planning level we need a filter cleaning every 2-3 months or so. And it's like 15 minutes to clean a filter like this.
Great vid again, scape offs are very cool and interesting how they turn out. I liked them both a lot but loved to have a real Fukada San scaped tank, now we can enjoy it again while it stays in your gallery. Stay safe
Amazing video guys inviting inspiring as always grate fan of yours i just gotto love so many diferent creativity of scaping learning something again today even mine is 1 year old my second one matured alot in my case thanks to you guys 😊💯👍
I like Steven's tank more because its unique and that should be honored. Fukada chose a simple classic style to be victorious. Thats why Steven gets my vote for hes creativity.
Wow. For 17,700 Indian Rupees. The whole setup? That's cheap...considering the base price was 11,800 Indian Rupees. Whoever got it,is surely lucky.Greenaqua please keep us posted with the aquascape that was auctioned out.If possible help/advise the person with maintenance (if she/he needs help) Thanks for creating a wonderful series.
Hello, Fabrizio, we always list all details in the description. Plants: 4x Echinodorus tenellus, 7x Anubias barteri var. nana 'Pangolino', 2x Pogostemon erectus, 2x Limnophila sp. 'Vietnam', 4x Vesicularia ferriei 'Weeping' moss, 7x Eleocharis parvula mini. Out of these the two possible ones could be the Parvula or the Tenellus. I did not open the video to tell which one. The parvula is grass, Tenellus is a bit higher and has thicker leaves.
You guys are super creative with your awesome content. I really enjoyed this heads up!! im glad Mr. Fukada won so his tank will stay in the GA gallery as I am looking forward to seeing it when it matures. Thanks a billion for sharing. WE MISS YOU BALAZS

I love both but I prefer the one from that young aquascaper Steven. That stone formation with the branches crawling down is absolutely gorgeous. That is somehow more realistically from nature.
It's classic vs modern/contemporary; I think if we had two classics or two modern scapers go at it it would have been better. It's like comparing mid-century modern architecture vs contemporary architecture.
Yeah, but this is how the big contests are decided too, right? I don't think that the winner is important here, more important was how the two work under pressure and what can they achieve in such a short time.
I think my style was more representative of Fukada-san’s contest style- as teacher and student, we’re about as close as possible in philosophy. I also know how to make classic layouts, and Fukada-San know how to make layouts like mine. He seemed surprised that I went for this kind of design given the time limit- but he wasn’t aware of the styrofoam technique I developed for speed in Shanghai’s live contest. It was also my first time to see Fukada-San at a live event- I was surprised he went this conservative.
Both of them are too awesome 😍 If I am was the one who's doing that I think it would take me weeks or months to finish it 😂 just a newbie, I gain too much knowledge in watching Green Aqua videos 😍. I wish I could visit Green Aqua😍
@@GreenAquaShop thank you green aqua for providing us a very beautiful and useful video 😍 hope you make some compilations of different kinds or style in making aquascapes 😊
Yeah, the are good, I actually like them better for the customers than the normal ones. Although the normal ones look much bigger and it is easier for me to do scapes that look ready from the start with them, the tissue culture ones can be stored longer, and they adapt to the underwater conditions easier.
Were you more relieved or more regretful that you couldn't keep Steven's tank? Its hardscape is more spectacular for sure, but it's maintenance would be a pain in the as
Honestly speaking I love Stev tank.....it's look something different and unique. I must say you should keep this tank in your gallery. Fukada use classic layout in his tank rather creating something unique. I enjoyed this video a lot. Green Aqua team always inspired me.....lots of love from India 🇮🇳
@@GreenAquaShop hey balazs pls do one very small session on Betta fish- how to take care Betta fish and their disease. What water parameters needed for this fish etc etc. Very small session like 5 to 10 min max
Green Aqua ok Thank you, Yeah I started my aquarium 3 weeks ago with the darktstart Methode and now the white slime turned brownish and it seems as if it going away so when my 2. Load of plants arrive I will take out all the water and brush the old slime off to start planting my root
Oh come on Balasz, we both know Steven's would place higher in IAPLC. I get that Green Aqua does not want to be the stage to show the apprentice overshadowing the master, but its a competition and there is a need to be objective not biased rather than "I'm a plant guy and less maintenance", or justifying that they're different styles.
Mannn... Steve shouldv'e won this EASILY!! 💯 I feel many in the audience there only chose Fukada's because of his reputation. If they didn't know who scaped the tanks... the results would've been closer to the same as the virtual votes (Steve's tank)!
Yeah, there is a different preference for the two teams, the classic NA style ZEN style lovers and the wild style diorama lovers. It's fine. :) Color is good.
Hello . I have a problem with my tank, which is tapeworm. I do not know exactly how to get rid of them. So, can you share with me how to prevent and remove them? thanks from vietnam with love
Personally I would have liked to see Stevens tank. Not to take away from Fukadas tank as it will look amazing, but its more traditional and we see similar aquascapes all the time. Wish the boundaries on fukadas tank was pushed a little more. Though obviously time is a factor. And this is why i like stevens : ) Either way look forward to seeing updates for sure.
Yes they do grow there, but not fast, and certainly takes ages to have a carpet, but we all use them in patches to add detail to the sand. Check out our substrate tutorial!
@@GreenAquaShop how about growing montecarlo on organic soil in aquarium? I can't efford aquarium soil as it is too costly in my place and I'm obsessed with those planted aquariums(carpeted) on UA-cam 😅 Any suggestions?

Hans Peterson, a great artist... Thanks for the comment, and thx for watching.
It's funny bc i fell like i'm there. Awesome videos.
Cheers, glad you appreciate our production effort!
The masters of aquascaping.. I very nice
We learned a lot from them through that weekend.
This is what aquascaping would look like as an Olympic event.
Haha, right, without the flames though.
@@GreenAquaShop Throw in a bio luminescent fish and voila, you have underwater flames, sort of.
Some viewers would kill us for that, haha.
Some viewers would kill us for that, haha.
Is all the plants name added in the description?
Yep,every used plants. ;)
Lóri
I like this concept !
Me too! Good learning experience.
Both of them are too awesome 😍
If I am was the one who's doing that I think it would take me weeks or months to finish it 😂 just a newbie, I gain too much knowledge in watching Green Aqua videos 😍. I wish I could visit Green Aqua😍
These speedscaping sessions are really god to get some hands-on experience and practice. The more you do it the better you'll become.
@@GreenAquaShop thank you green aqua for providing us a very beautiful and useful video 😍 hope you make some compilations of different kinds or style in making aquascapes 😊
Noted, thanks for the suggestion.
lol, skipped in and read something like " seems like theyre using wood and rocks" .. made me lol
thumbed up, before watching ;)
Haha. :) Right.
Hi team please tell if the plants quantity mentioned in description is of Tissue Culture Cups.
Honestly, I have no idea. :)
@@GreenAquaShop no worries.. The plants really look great and i will try the tc cups
Its hardscape is more spectacular for sure, but it's maintenance would be a pain in the as
We are struggling with his workshop tank maintenance already, haha, but it was a great tank indeed! Loved it!
When is Balaza will be back 😢
Next week!
@@GreenAquaShop YEEESSSS!!!!!!
Green Aqua Great 😍
👍🏻
Harsha Nimantha sick ?
Honestly speaking I love Stev tank.....it's look something different and unique. I must say you should keep this tank in your gallery. Fukada use classic layout in his tank rather creating something unique.
I enjoyed this video a lot. Green Aqua team always inspired me.....lots of love from India 🇮🇳
Thanks for the vote and for the comment, they are both very different styles.
@@GreenAquaShop hey balazs pls do one very small session on Betta fish- how to take care Betta fish and their disease. What water parameters needed for this fish etc etc.
Very small session like 5 to 10 min max
Thanks for the idea, noted. Have you seen our two Betta setup videos on the channel though?
What rocks did Steven Chong use?
Listed in the description - as always. Thx for reading that. Cheers.
This was great, I personally liked the apprentice’s tank but man I wish I could have bidS Great work...talking bout you editors as well
Cheers, glad you appreciate the production effort too! A lot went into it. :)
I really like the personality of steven
He is a good guy, and a very good scaper!
Some aquascape looks nicer in the photo while some look better in real life.
Yes, I agree! Totally!
if this is being judge from the creative aspect Fukada win, but honestly they both executed the scape perfectly
i think, herry rasio from indonesia is great for next set up in green aqua,,...
Thanks for the idea, been suggested before! Cheers.
Is there a follow-up photo of Steven's Tank ?
No, unfortunately we did not get one from the lucky one who brought it home.
@@GreenAquaShop Okay Bad luck thou
Yeah. Nature of things.
Спасибо за русские субтитры! Смотрим ваш канал с удовольствием! Удачи вам!
Glad to hear that! You are welcome!
Just a general question: if this white slime on wood turns brownish, does it mean, that it’s dying off?
It gets some organic material on it, you can brush it off if it bothers you - before a water change....
Green Aqua ok Thank you, Yeah I started my aquarium 3 weeks ago with the darktstart Methode and now the white slime turned brownish and it seems as if it going away so when my 2. Load of plants arrive I will take out all the water and brush the old slime off to start planting my root
I'm sure you'll sort it out, good luck with your tank!
It was a fair vote. ;) We - Green Aqua - had nothing to do with that.
Steven did something different, very unique and Adam Pasczella like!
It was a bold scape indeed, thanks for watching and commenting.
Jak zwykle dobry film od Green Aqua. Czekam na nastepny ♥️
Cheers, thanks for the support Lukasz, as usual. :)
Mannn... Steve shouldv'e won this EASILY!! 💯 I feel many in the audience there only chose Fukada's because of his reputation. If they didn't know who scaped the tanks... the results would've been closer to the same as the virtual votes (Steve's tank)!
The winning tank was nice but bit too traditional. Steven's tank was dynamic, modern and I would say more attractive.
i also choose Fukada sensei scape... but still learning Steven skill...
the reason is similar with sir Filipe... i am retro nature tank generation..
Yeah, there is a different preference for the two teams, the classic NA style ZEN style lovers and the wild style diorama lovers. It's fine. :) Color is good.
@@GreenAquaShop Haha.. Perfecto.. Macchiato cheers sir..
Cheers!
i like the scape of steven more ..because beacause found that more creative !!!
I always like more creative layouts too but I also understand those who would go for the classic one.
Hello . I have a problem with my tank, which is tapeworm. I do not know exactly how to get rid of them. So, can you share with me how to prevent and remove them? thanks
from vietnam with love
you can buy traps for them or medication
I was worried that my shrimp might get a drug shock, but it's okay, I'll try the trap, thanks for that.
You're welcome, hope it will work.
Personally I would have liked to see Stevens tank. Not to take away from Fukadas tank as it will look amazing, but its more traditional and we see similar aquascapes all the time. Wish the boundaries on fukadas tank was pushed a little more. Though obviously time is a factor. And this is why i like stevens : )
Either way look forward to seeing updates for sure.
Thanks for the vote, Steve's tank was a very creative and original one indeed. But the other one was a true Zen style tank.
@@GreenAquaShop yes indeed. Great content 👌
Cheers, thanks for the kind comment - as always.
Steven's tank is a very creative Scape!!! without fear!
Yeah! Very creative.
¿Is Balázs ok? Hope see him soon
Stay safe! Really good work!
I'm fine thanks, editing these videos, you'll see me soon. ;)
Wait what?? Capret plants grow in sand?? Inert?? Do they survive and flourish??
Any one please?
Yes they do grow there, but not fast, and certainly takes ages to have a carpet, but we all use them in patches to add detail to the sand. Check out our substrate tutorial!
@@GreenAquaShop how about growing montecarlo on organic soil in aquarium?
I can't efford aquarium soil as it is too costly in my place and I'm obsessed with those planted aquariums(carpeted) on UA-cam 😅
Any suggestions?
Ever wonder where Balazs is? 🤔
Don July Talisaysay true !!!
Haha, I'm here answering comments and editing videos, will be back on screen on next Thursday, I had to stay away from that weekend where we shot many videos without me, with me helping them through the surveillance cameras :D
Hello!
The first time! I must say thank your chanel. Because
It is very useful to me. So can you show me the Picture or the video of the Tank Behind Steven, near TV 3:05. It very very beautifull,
It made a great impression on me. Thanks you so much!
We have a setup video on all the tanks on this channel and we have cinematic updates on most of them (if not, it's coming), but the first cinematic Green Aqua presentation video shows them all - one after the other. You might want to look around on the channel.
@@GreenAquaShop Thank you so much! I saw that video. It is realy beautiful!
You're welcome, glad you like it!
