Thanks Covid-19.
I have found this channel and love it!
Sad
I used to catch decent chub where you caught the live bait on the Ember river but an old man in the house on the other side of the bridge owned that bit of bank and would tell me to leave, the river Mole seems good for pike fishing these days but a boat helps unless you wish to trespass too.
Hi Carl and Alex - thanks for your spirit of making these great fishing videos out of just pure passion for fishing! Apparently you can make income as a YT fisherman with a regular channel. Cheers, Mike from Wash DC
Thanks Mike! Glad you like the films! Sadly we don't earn money from this channel, in fact it costs us quite a lot to keep it going at the moment as we don't get enough views to make profit. Doesn't stop us enjoying making them though :)
What area of London is this? I just moved and I'm looking for some places to go fishing and this place looks fantastically
Good video boys love the location been fishing that exact spot there for 20yrs there is bigger ones there too secret spot 😉
I live really near all the places they fished so I’ve tried catching pike but it never goes well
one of my favourite spots too mate but there's a seal their now and I've caught nothing since, before that had pike to 16lb
@@TheoYianniFishing Noooo.. I've not been down there for a couple years but been meaning to go back!
Fanta means boys in Slovenian so dRiNkInG iT iS KinDa GeY
Love ya vids guys, fellow piker, drop the live baits theres no reason for so much trauma to catch pike, each to their own but with your platform could be showing others the way. just a thought
Get ya mate, it's a personal thing I guess.
Knownas Hapy pike eat live prey so we catch with live prey don’t like it don’t fish it don’t mean I shouldn’t
@@samuelwilliams5161 I like fishing with full stops. ever heard of them?
Wonky Lommiter scared of a bit of live bait I see
Definitely a few laws/rules broke on this trip. Moving of fish is illegal and only one of you wearing a life jacket. If your making videos that young anglers can watch make sure you lead by example. Other then that great video
Not sure really, the fish weren't moved to a new body of water. Thanks for the concern though, and cheers for watching!
The place you fished at the beginning is now pretty much in fishable because of the amount of duck weed that’s been caught up in the pond creek thing (I live like next to it so I’ve fished it loads)
where did you hire that boat guys? would like to give it ago myself
I've gotta ask when using the pike float is it best to have it free running?
I recognise them spots, thats where I catch my livebaits for Zander fishing the thames lol. My hometown lol
Yeah we know that ain't the Thames! Close but no cigar :D
@@filtafacta thats a good point, theyre not fishing the thames lol.
The Thames had come a long way since the great stink.
Remember attempting to land a mid double by the gill, forgetting the second treble hook waving about above. With that firmly wedge in the side of my hand the pike decided to thrash it's head around like crazy ripping open a 1 inch gash in the process. And just to rub it in she managed to throw the hook and escape.
Still , lesson learned lol 👍👍😄
So good to see young lads fishing.
Stumbled across this, man I really enjoy watching you guys catch a variety of fish. Keep it up!
Where you were catching your bait, around 10-15 years ago there was a shoal of massive chub who defied being caught.
Are they still there?
Good vid lads!
Tight lines!
I thought you had to take live bait from the same water?
The places they fished are really near each other and the bit they fished first leads into the river they were fishing in
Yeah you do, and we were on the same water :)
A collab with balcktiph would be awesome!
Certainly would!! One day!!
Great shout! That would be one hell of a video
I caught a couple of pike where you caught the live baits from a few months back on free lined lob worms for chub
Where’s the boat hire please ? How much for the day?
Quality , as always boys 👍🏻
How much was the boat hire lads?
Nice one guys 👍
i love the way you say pike it makes me want to go fishing!
Love too see people in ather countrys catching good fish im from sydney guys see my vids too see how as Aussie guys catch fish .fish on guys ;)
Great video guys, but where's your life jackets?. should not get on a boat (or even the jetty) without one on, far to easy to slip/trip and bang your head rendering you unconscious, its then a big task for your mates to try and rescue you, risking their own lives.
Neil Vine... maybe they where going old school that day ... back when men did dangerous things and just lived or died with the consequences. By the time they put on their helmets, protective eyewear, thermals, elbow and knee pads, back brace, wrist guards, shin pads, athletic cups, adult diapers and their life alert necklaces the " adventure " of fishing is slightly diminished to say the least. Keep up the great fishing adventures Car and Alex... to hell with being overly safe... be manly men and enjoy the outdoors !
daniel rose drowning is manly is it?. You sir are an idiot!.
I'm not about fishing with live bait, still quality clip as always! 👌
The fish they caught is on the river mole not the thames
If you are talking about the livebaits, the Mole is part of the Thames catchment. It is classed as the same river. No rules broken.
Nice video as a youngster I used to use live bait but as I've gotten older I cant bring myself to do it haha! I prefer dead baits that way I don't feel bad for hooking them up, but I'm not against it, nice video I always love a weir pool its great fishing! tight lines and wet knees guys!
Can you do a video on fishing the river wandle for barbel and koi carp
Funny you ask that... keep your eyes peeled for our next update video ;)
add me bro king piker subscribe
Where i live there is this lake where the float goes under almost every minute because there is so many pike.
Rrraaasssmmmuuusss I’m on my way😂
Rrraaasssmmmuuusss were
Where?
There's actually a lot of pik in the river just a couple hundred yards from that first little stream. Its my regular spot
Nice video.. I'm hoping to catch my 1st pike this year Using a 10ft maver match rod, 3000 reel, 40lb Braided to wire trace and lure. is this surfice until I get an Abu set up and what's the max weight lure I should use on this?
Congratulations on 300k subs
I thought this was about catching molesters
big recommendation if you want to catch big carp: cottington lakes in kent- lake pepper. has over 40 fish between 30 and 49 pounds and a stock of over 200 carp in there. lake record a 52lb mirror and a couple not far off that. keep up the good work lads
Do you need to get a rod license for pike fishing want to start up and want to find a bit more out
You need a rod licence to do any type of fishing in the UK, but not a specific licence for any species after that. ;)
Carl and Alex Fishing my man thanks for the info and keep up the good work with the videos I enjoy watching you both do what you do best 👍 :)
I went fishing at the same spot
Hi if those baits came from the Thames I apologise but if they came from a tributary I guess that’s ok. Just concerned that people didn’t think that it was ok to catch baits and take to another water. Disease transfer etc hence net dips at commercial fisheries
Did your mum ever tell you? " Think before you speak!" Just enjoy the lads video, there know what there doing...
Matthew Kellett yes she did!! My original comment was made in good faith and I apologised if I was wrong. But it seems according to the EA rules you can’t move fish. So let this end now!
He's absolutely correct! You shouldn't be moving fish from different waters, you need a licence from the EA to do it! If it's a tributary then fine but the video could do with explaining the law so people don't do it and move diseases around.
Great fish, well filmed, and it sounds like Jamie has the same appetite as me. Last time i tried kayaking the boat just sank Under my weight. Lol (only afterwards did i find out i had been lent a boat with max 80kg and i'm 120kg, a joke by my mates)
Jon B brought sent me. :)
Haha awesome!
Love your content. For someone that loves fishing but doesn't get to do so very often, they're a good way of getting my fishing fix. I know the spot that you were getting all your fish in as I used to work in a Mill building that overlooks the pool! I'd love to have a quick chat about it and the place you hired the boat from. Is there a way we could do this? Cheers.
Where abouts on the Thames was this boys. And how do you locate spots good for finding bait fish ? Instead of buying I’d like to do it the proppa way 😎
Hi guys, great video! As you can see on my channel love some Urban piking. Respect lads.
Thanks man, will have a look at your channel tonight! :)
Thanks guys. Were new to UA-cam only got the one Pike vid up this week, were on that start up grind ;)
Great video boys that's my local stretch of the Thames im 5 mins from there however never fished for pike but I will now
Next time Walton on Thames bridge under that is prolific
Whats the location here guys?
Can anyone recommend some good starter equipment don’t really want to do dead bait fishing and done enough of that sea fishing want to do lure and be on the move 👍😀
You guys never use baitcaster
Nice video chaps! I’m off up to Scotland soon in the hopes of a double! A question, just bought myself a Waterwolf, a bit scared I cast out and lose it!! Do you fish a weak trace under yours just in case? Also, doesn’t look very secure on the mounting, so I’m gonna cable tie it once it’s on the line. Expensive casts at £100 a time if it comes off!! 😂
We just use ours tied on before the trace. It's pretty freaky to cast it out though! We tend to use ours in places with no snags!!
Carl and Alex Fishing I’ll be checking my braid knots VERY well before it goes near the water! 😂 AND fishing snag free waters! Cheers lads, keep up the good work, and give me a sub, you’ll see some Waterwolf action very soon!
Muzic Molehead i am going to hatchland's tommorw hope at cahch so carp in devon all the best molehead
Great video again lads well done 👍
Thanks Roy :)
That buongiorno caught me off guard 😂
Where you were catching the livebait - the river Ember, was where I fished regularly as a child 50 years ago! About 30 years ago the course of the river was diverted into a flood relief system and the extent of this tiny gem of a river was lost forever. It used to be bursting with good sized dace roach and chub - when I think back it is amazing to think just how many fish could be caught from one small swim in one session. I remember being smashed on various occasions - suspected barbel and carp. Every May and June in that little stretch where you stood on the ledge would come alive with a masses of chub many in excess of 6lb that seemed to make their way up to the pool above to spawn. Anyway, I think your videos are great - just done some binging while recovering from the dreaded coronavirus!
Thank you Tony! Hope you are feeling much better now.
Really nice pike and everyone gets one too. Thats what inspirate me to move to the water everytime i can. You guys rock :)
Quality vid as usual guys.
Great to see and breifly meet you 2 in Kentucky had no chicken! (Merton) the other day, brilliant surprise for me, embarrassing for me kids! Thanks for saying hello and I look forward to the wandle video with the nice surprise 😉
Cheers
Haha, awesome to see you mate! Can't wait to edit up the video of catching the koi!! :) :)
“Fishing for inner city predators” Hmmmmmmmmmmm
😂😂😂
You guys inspired me thanks
Yay :) Tight lines dude!
Great video as always guys, would you be able to tell me where you rented the boat from? Would love to give this a try.
You ever find out??
@@mallenkennelsuk5854 Nope unfortuantly :( lol
@@DonVennO Ditton boatyard 👍
Nice little film. Cool music.
Decent young men, knowledgeable in their quest.
As an older former angler, I’d have to question myself on the use of live bait if I was going to fish, and probably just try a lure?
Nice going boys!👍🏽
To catch a pike think like one, you want a meal with as little physical exertion as possible, hunt a injured fish - hence why live bait works well.
Some may think it cruel but does a lion feel guilt attacking its weak prey ....no. To catch apex predators think like one !
Mind you a dead bait can work well picking up the big ones. Adapt and use what works. If you have issues with livebaits then maybe you should not be fishing at all......
Enjoy your pike fishing guys, I certainly do.
What an excellent video - is that a bit of drone camera action in there?
7:47 love the colors of that pike, well done
How much was the boat hire and where from. I live in Surrey as well
Love watching your vids
olly 1250 same I love your vids too
Nice video. Where in London is this location? Thanks
You guys got any advice on weather and pressure conditions for lure fishing for pike/perch, having issues finding any patterns for when they are active
Winter time best for pike/perch, the cold has sharpened their hunger. Look for the slack water on a river.
Livebaits work very well for both pike and perch. Personal bests: 4lb + perch on live minnow, 30lb plus for pike on a live roach.
Think like your targeted predator!
Boys you can fish the long water behind the palace look it up please I've seen big fish come out really big and you lads would appreciate it
Yeah man! I walked along there not long ago and spotted some monster carp feeding!!
Can you use the dwarf rods on reservoirs for carp would they cope well
Oi that's my haunt lol...
Haha nice spot :)
Where abouts is this? Thanks in advance ‘n
Unfortunately live baiting in Ireland is illegal.
Hi its Cosmo, I have never caught a pike and your videos made me want to catch one so much for this years book!
Nice one :) Good luck!!
That's literally me and my friends fishing spot where u were catching the bait at the beginning there's also a barbed wire fence u can go through to a weir where there are big like and perch also caught my pb Chubb there
Mindless Exotics hey, would you be able to tell me where abouts this is? I’m heading up to London for a bit and am looking for some decent spots - thanks in advance!
Great video mate on to next one lol
And what rods did you use in reservoir diary's love your video I've been watching you guys for years inspiration to all anglers keep up the good work.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Hi mate, we used the Nash Entity Rods, but they dont sell them any more, a good alternative is the pursuit rods :)
As always a great video, inspiration to try more to catch some pike!!! Thanks!!!
This is not a river Thames but a river Ember 👍
Awesome video guys. I recently got a 10 pound pike on a 6cm lure! Small lures don’t always mean small fish 😀
Troutgamer1 ofcourse not. I caught a 6,06 kg and 94 cm on a 10 cm lure. But bigger lure eliminates the chances that a small pike hit the lure before the big one does, and bigger fish tend to eat less often but bigger fish!
Im a new subcriber to your channel and i love watching u fish and how much u care of the environment and preserving the fish..and ur. Trying to save them when they are dying coz theres no oxygen in the pond thats the first i watch... Who is that lucky sod Stewart
Fantastic for drinks???? I hope you had a splash of whiskey in it.😜
Haha that would have made things feel a little warmer :)
Beautiful fish once again great quality as well 🎣🎣🎣👍
Cheers man! Thanks for watching!
Carl and Alex Fishing a pleasure 👍
I use 80lb braid! To be sure I won't snap in case something happens
Use a wire trace and only use braid for a 10 - 20ft leader unless you are fully prepared to go retrieve that 40+ ft of line you just snagged on a boulder in the river bed. (pike like to dve into the river bed and snags when in trouble) I'm tired of snagging on abandoned braid and tackle left by muppets who don't care what they leave behind. When I use braid I make a breakaway between the braid and the wire trace too. Sure you loose your trace but abandned line causes anglers and the local wildlifes lives worse than it ever needs to be.
Me
Great vid ! But where was the big one ? 😂
I wish I was as good as you two at fishing i have not ever caught a pike but I have tried
Good luck with it man!
Thanks I will need it LOL
I want can one question.....the Nash pursuit rod is good???
We've got some, they are nice! :)
Nice vid I had some luck on the river caught a 20 pound 11 oz pike new pb
Awesome!! A 20lber is a massive achievement :)
Just leaving for the Lake District with the spinning rods in the car
Have fun mate! Beautiful area!
It's my birthday today. BTW great article in iycf
Happy birthday for 3 days ago mate!! Thanks glad you like the article! :)
What size rod was used
Really enjoyed the video. Not sure that is a great idea to transfer live baits from one river to another though?
Thanks! As the spots we fished are connected we thought it would be ok, since a fish could swim there anyway?
Thanks for your reply. All good.. Would be good to make that totally clear to your followers though. Not trying to be a smart arse, just think its an important point
