What a beautiful location this removal was in....and the comb and honey/nectar was even better. I hope you enjoy this one all the way to the end. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
That was a nice calm hive of bee's to work with. I know you prefer to having older comb to frame up but that white comb just looks so clean and tasty with wonderful honey!! The homeowner looked like he could have been one of my relatives, tall with white hair 😆. Great video thanks to Good Time Charlie. God Bless you both!!!
The new comb is so beautiful, but due to the weight of the nectar, it turns to mush almost as soon as it is touched. Thankfully I was able to salvage some of it and get it framed up. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. Until the next one, God's peace Phil.
Mr. Ed
🤣😂 You two make me laugh so much, Thanks and better luck next time for Charlies fishing trip🤣😂
Louisiana backroads have some lovely scenery
We have some absolutely stunning backroad scenery here in Louisiana as our culture has roots in so many different origins. What was so interesting about this particular scenery, it was the driveway to the house. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace brother.

Really nice removal! Nice bees and a beautiful place. Always good to be with you on your adventures. God’s constant and boundless blessings to y’all.
This location was stunning, and the bees very gentle. When I get a combo like that it's a real joy doing the removal...plus it was air conditioned. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. God's peace Russ.

Hi Mr Ed and good time Charlie nice to so you on the utube
And it's so nice of you to continue watching us after all this time, thank you very much for doing that. God's peace Nola.
Mr. Ed
Always amazed at how y'all handle each situation. This hive of bees were certainly a lot calmer than some you have wrangled. Maybe think about taking Good Time Charley out to lunch and then fishing for all his help. God's richest blessings to you both!
Neither Charlie or I have the energy to fish AND wrangle bees on the same day, it's one or the other, but Charlie would choose the fishing especially right now when they are biting really good. Regardless of the temperament of the colony when we open the hive, I still love doing the removal. Of course, it's always nicer not to have to wear the suit doing the job. Thanks for watching. God's peace Tom.
Mr. Ed
Nine miles from the Abby and five miles of that is on the property. 😝 That is a beautiful place.
I think they should have about 50 hives out there. God's peace brother.

I am a blessed man to have been friends with Charlie for so many years. God's peace Amy.
Mr. Ed
Did the homeowner know that was a previous bee cavity? I recall a removal in an older video where the homeowner left the cavity open to catch you a swarm every year.
Yes they did, and they had it removed. It is a very common occurrence to have bees reoccupy a space they previously lived in as the area is impregnated with the smell of propolis. Unfortunately, that smell can not be removed or covered over which is why the bees return, they smell it. This is the reason the entrance or opening the bees used to get into the space MUST be sealed up. Thanks for watching. Until the next one, God's peace.
Mr. Ed
That’s a great way to band them, I never thought of that, I would love to see a video of when the bees chew them thru and they spring open in the hive lol 😂
No doubt, the easiest way to secure comb to a frame. I bet there is a bit of a whiplash when the band is cut. God's peace brother.

It's always a blessing when one of your videos comes up! I drive through Covington on my trip and I agree it's a beautiful area. Reminds me of Rural Jacksonville. Still enjoying the honey I got from the Abbey. Stuff is amazing on toast with butter. Some fruity notes come through. I tried it while I was still at the Abbey. Very different from our Florida honey.
Don't forget to reach out before you pass through the next time. God's peace Thomas.

Blackberry and privet flow going on here in central Oklahoma. Persimmon coming up next. What beautiful comb and the place was nice. You and Charlie take care. God bless!
I sure hope your flow was as good as ours was. This was the first time I actually got to taste the privet. Thank you for your blessing and for watching. Until the next one, God's peace Garry.
Mr. Ed
That honey looked amazing! Why didn't the bees start to build their comb where they had once been instead of building in a "new" place in the same area? And were you the one that came before to remove the previous hive? Great video as always!
I believe they did, they simply had not grown to the point where the old hive had. Generally, a hive will begin very near the entrance and work it's way through the space building comb. No, I had not done the previous removal. Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for taking the time to watch it. Until the next one, God's peace Annette.
Mr. Ed

Another great cutout thanks, amazes me how fast they can build one of those hives up. did a meter box for the city last year was called back month and half later was packed full again. Love the looks of that brand new white comb, but difficult to handle sometimes.

It will never stop amazing me just how much work those girls can get done in such a short space of time. They are a really productive hive. Still a shame Good Time Charlie had to miss out on the fishing though. Trout on the BBQ is a wondering thing. Lovely Pup. I used to breed Arabians, so when I'd walk out my stallions someone would invariably say "That's a big dog". Whilst my friend that bred Great Danes would get "You could put a saddle on that!" 😁

The new comb looks amazing. Might it be that the new comba neeed more care and fragile handling than the older stuff? Or no it doesn't make too much of a difference and both old or new are equal in their structure/ handling?
As wax ages it gets stronger, but until it has a few weeks of hardening it is VERY soft and simply the weight of the nectar that is stored in it can deform and tear the wax if positioned differently than upright as this position was the way it was designed to hold the weight. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace.

Interesting how they drew the comb in that "V" shape
It is a very typical way comb is drawn. It has to be wider at the top initially so it can support the weight of the comb once it has stores and brood in it. Thanks for watching. God's peace.

mid 40's light rain and out on the creek this morning. maybe 20 some trout pulled in. two big enough to keep, but I was fishing a brookie stream and one was 10 inches and fought like a devil.

Hi mr Ed
Good show. Thanks for sharing. 🙋
👍👍👏👏🇺🇲
I've always wondered, why dont you have a transparent tube attachment with queen excluders inside. That way once the queen gets sucked half-way inside, you can spot the bigger bee and transfer to a queen holder or something. 😀
As is most often the case, many bee are vacuumed at the same time. And because the vacuum is designed for low suction, anything in the hose to restrict the movement of the bees will create a jam. Though I really like the idea, I really do not think it would not work. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. Privet is considered an invasive species in US but it is very useful for bees for pollen and honey. If it is useful, why consider it invasive unless we can replace it with natives is my question. 😊

@@JeffHorchoff nothing yet alas. I thought I heard her at one point but it's an ant sized animal in a cluttered house. She may have gone to the window when it had light and got out though!
With that brood comb I expected you to cut off the bottom part with honey/nectar and without brood, as that is the newest and softest, to be able to cut a bit higher and get some more brood (you did cut through the top of the brood).
When placing cut comb in a frame, I try getting as much of the comb in the frame with the most resources and brood. That's just the way I do it and it has worked very well for years. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother.

do they get mad if you cut through brood or squish adults?
Unlike humans, bees do not get mad, they simply react to the situation at hand, and in a sense, they are not emotional but rather reactionable. So yes, it is not a good idea to kill adults or brood in a hive, but it does happen unintentionally often. Very good question. How long does it take them to make that much comb
Ten days, if the flow is on, and for a swarm - swarms are loaded up with all they can carry and are predisposed to start building. If you can keep them supplied with undrawn waxed foundation they will keep going, too. If you have somewhere to store some, it is worth swapping out a frame or two as they build it, as freshly drawn comb is great for baiting a swarm trap, if you don't have any old used comb.
These bees had been in the structure for less than 21 days. It is amazing just how fast a large swarm can draw new comb.
