It breaks my heart to see the voice post this video with title "guy with Tourette" when in the video he clearly says he doesn't want to be known for having Tourette and being able to sing he just wants to be known for his singing and what do that do label him the Tourette's guy. Heather Villanueva for people on the Autism spectrum they don't so much gain the ability to sing if they're non-verbal. Its most likely echolalia, which is a common type of communication tool people with autism use where they repeat sentences said to them or already said. They are unable to string together sentences on their own, and song lyrics are the same.

When you sing it doesn't require forethought because it's from memories. So those who suffer from speech impediments and or tourette can sing without having the issues that would occur when trying to speak. I don't know if it includes everyone who has them, I do know that some do and can sing amazingly.

I have Tourette’s and I don’t sing, but when I draw and paint I have zero tics, so the same thing applies. It’s pretty incredible! I feel fortunate for having that little escape :)

Nah that wouldn’t help in the slightest. I’ve heard from a few people with Tourette’s that it’s because they know the lyrics. They don’t need to think about what they’re going to say so they don’t tic. Of course it’s not like that for everyone with Tourette’s, but for him it’s seems like that.
When he’s saying he doesn’t need to think about what he is going to say, because when you aren’t thinking of what to say and you already know what comes next you don’t need to worry about it and the Tourettes don’t affect him
