- I acquired this vintage DW kit that was in pretty rough shape. I initially wanted to rewrap the kit but as the project moved forward I decided to sand down the Toms and clearcoat the shells.
wow great job! they looks awesome. i sand the adhesive off as well. i've tried just about everything and that seems to work the best.
nice man! thanks for sharing. I just re wrapped my DW mini pro kit, on here.
This drum kit sounds KILLER!! Absolutely AMAZING. Great work, John!
You probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my brother lately xD
Nice!! 😊
matte finish by micro-sanding the varnish is the best! Does not show fingerprints.
Did you keep the wrap by chance? I have a dw kit in that wrap and I have a tom I would like to re wrap. Would you sell the laminate wrap?
I tossed the wraps my friend.
What kind of stain (how many coats?) did u use before the poly?
I sanded the glue off and just did two coats of Minwax Waterbourne Polyurethane. I light;y sanded them with 220 grit between coats. I didn't use stain. It's the natural color of the wood. Cheers.
@@crustyolddiver Hi John, Did you save the wrap by chance? I have a dw kit in that finish and a tom I want to wrap. would you sell the wrap if you still have it?
@@TXJ471 noi did not.
Question for you. Are you sure that's a 25 inch kick? Either way those are black badge dws man. Last of the hand made days good trade.
I am sure my friend. I bought new batters for it and they fit. It's huge
@@crustyolddiver had to refresh a bit on this. Very cool man, a 25 inch is super rare man. Probably the only one they made that year. Very nice kit, wish I owned it.
@@crustyolddiver you know it's custom with a 25 inch kick. What am I saying? All black badges are custom
@@spuffvermon I scored big I suppose! Haha. Love this kit. The bass thumps through the amps. Killer kit to play live. Thanks for the info!
I wasnt looking at the video when I heard the words "tuna spear gun" it got my attention and I looked up, I was not in the slightest bit surprised, you literally look like a longshoreman
