  • What's going on everybody rob here with a little video on removing a engine splash guard also known as a engine splash shield on a 2016 Hyundai Sonata I thought these engine splash shields were plastic but they are like a fiberboard which really surprised me. In the next video coming up I am repairing the fiber board or the engine splash shield or engine splash guard for this 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The engine splash shield should not have been this hard to remove. many of these bolts and this 2016 Hyundai Sonata were rusted in or broken off already by the time I had to remove it. One would've thought it would've been a very simple 123 job to remove the engine splash shield or the engine splash guard. One thing I did learn is if you are going to do this already have enough bolts machined and body bolts or fender bolts to put back in place after you remove it also have newer clips to replace the old clips that will be rusted out by the time you remove the engine shield or the engine splash guard on the 2016 Hyundai Sonata. I did have plenty well 5 bolts that I had to drill out and I wound up using fender bolts to put it back together. This job took me way longer than it should because of the rested bolts and the broken bolts

@@RobHereAKATrev2323 I'm doing the same job this weekend on the front engine and driver fender splash guards. Hoping to dodge some of the headaches you had! Thanks for posting the video, btw. Should prove very helpful.
