You could put Patric M on this team, and it wouldn't fix anything. Yes, they scored big points last year, but almost 200 of those points were against the Commanders and the Giants. Throw in the Cardinals, Jets and etc. You were correct. They had absolutely no running game last year, and if you truly believe Zeak is the answer, they need to give you a blood test. They have no O line and only 1 disgruntled receiver. The problem with this team is Jerry. AJerry is still trying to prove that it was him and not Jimmy J that built those teams. We saw Herbert and Dak both have the same OC. That guy yall said Dak would miss. The guy you would take first ran a mediocre offense with the same OC Dak ran the number 1 offense with and apparently Dak’s version of missing him was getting MVP runner up. His first coordinator said with Dak's arm strength he had to eliminate half his playbook and Dak would never be able to operate a normal pro spread offense. Two head coaches and 3 offensive coordinators later we have the Texas coast offense. The only tesm in the league opting for two tightends and a full back rather than 4 or 5 receivers inna pass happy league. Hmmmmm. We just were not blessed to have a job like that, but it's still there's plenty of other professions that get paid way more. It's always short-sighted to compare contract situations. Varying factors like the franchise in question, the roster, coaching, the market, and owner all needs to be addressed when comparing salaries. No two situations are alike.
Dak made Kellen Moore look like the best young coach... he went Herbert and got fired as an OC.

That is a great question for the Cowboys and all fans of the Star, who would you see QB-ing the 'Boys, and would be a better football team?! That being said, how much are they getting paid, so come in right below that amount.
The Cowboys have painted themselves into a corner. Dak's cap hit is $55 million this season, and he's looking to get paid, especially at 30/31 years of age. With the market the way it is, he's going to get that $55 million or slightly more, with about 75% of the deal guaranteed.
If they do it before Green Bay and Miami, there's a chance that those teams will upset the market even more because of their QB contracts.
The only way Dallas looks smart coming out of this is by NOT paying Dak, and he has a bad season. Which by having a bad season, Jerry Jones will become even more irate than he is right now...especially since he'll never admit that he's the cause for their mediocrity. Damned if you do...
Pay Dak now and get it over with....or the 'Boys will end up coughing up over $57 million per season down the road.

1:40 comparing Dak's playoff resume to those guys isn't fair because they aren't old (besides Goff, but Goff has more playoff success by a mile), and none of them had as many pro bowl/all-pro teammates as Dak... the Cowboys are betting contenders every year because they usually have a top roster... not because of Dak.
Goff ain't that good. Hebert had Allen and mike William. Dallas Cowboy roster is bad. you saw how they look when Dak broke his leg. Dallas got no running back, no decent linebacker, only one average db.. the offensive line been trash. defense can't stop the run.

The Cowboys have had the run of the place in the NFC East the last several years. The Commanders and Giants have been a hot mess, the Eagles yes have been very good, but still have showed themselves to be fragile. With all that talent surrounding Dak they have yet to accomplish anything, ANYTHING. They have feasted on mediocre and bad teams for several years. When they face a legitimate team, an elite team a la the Niners and Packers they get smoked!!! The clock is ticking and the window is closing, the Giants wont stay a hot mess forever. The Commanders well, they have their own issues.
