Cole Wilson? Really?? Diversity? He only did basic stair tricks and high rail nose grinds. He did the same trick like 3 times. Joslin should have won. It wasn't even close, he smoked everyone. He is just too good for this competition I felt the judges didnt want him to win.
I don't care that Samaria is a female. There was absolutely no justification to give her a spot over many many other skaters far beyond her skill set. It's not the right thing to do it's actually disproving the point that they are trying to make.

Lay's after school program is absolutely amazing. I wish I had something like that growing up. I was a decent skater then, but as I got older, was too fearful to expand my repertoire. Something like that would have helped, I think. I hope to see that program extend elsewhere.
My favourite is the continuous line video, not because he was the best he wasn't the best but that's how real skating should be getting from point a to point b without stopping & using the environment around you. (or at least editing the video to look like 1 continuous line). But I get this is about skill not about filming or continuous line
I think his idea of a continuous line was great but it could have been executed better, technically speaking. The filming and editing were not enough on point to reach that "continuity effect" (which is an actual technique in video making).

Sometimes yes, it's all about shutter speed. On 60 fps, shutter speed need to be 120 ans at 30 fps, need to be 60 and on 24 fps it need to be 50. On this video i bet it's 24 fps with a shutter speed of 120, instead of using neutral density filter to have 50.
I think also that style plays TONS for a good part. I love watching Joslin skate but not too much fineness. Cole Wilson just has hella style. And Chris Cole is just a legend. Period.=]
For me... I just don't feel like she deserves to be pro at this specific time. Yes Samaria is good. She has a fair bag of tricks and is getting down in the streets, which gives her so much more credibility. But When you compare her to Nora, or even to go further back, Elissa Steamer, she just is not at that point yet. A lot of her tricks have sloppy landings, and she mobs a bunch of her flip tricks too... I like Samaria, but I feel like she should've waited to get that pro status just a little bit longer. Especially over Enzo.... like come on Enjoi. Put that kid on already
What's everyone whining about? Her part wasn't the greatest but it had some good moments overall. There are so many mediocre and much less interesting pro skaters out there that nobody seems bothered by or question their legitimacy. Why does this only come up with female skaters? Personally, none of this blew me away from a skill or creativity standpoint.
