My great grandmother lived in one of the old folks complexes and i spent lots of summers her with my mom and her mom. When i close my eyes i can still see her sitting in her chair with her candy and i still know the layout of her place. Im missing my great grandmother and grandmother a little extra watching this this ❤❤❤
@@ladybug123212 so glad to hear that. The place is so special for many people. I often think of a dear friend of mine who passed away years ago who owned the Sharper Image hair salon. Every time I see the tide come in from Pleasant street I think of him.
I enjoyed your video, however I was disappointed that you didn't show us the drive over the bridge. I am 81 years old. I used to spend the summers visiting my great aunt Jennie and other relatives. I try to get back every summer, The highlight of the trip is eating at the restaurant at the pier.
@@sharronobrien542 I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. It is a great place to spend summers! The pier restaurant is also a must whenever I go. I lived there for 3 summers when I worked for the Ship’s Company.
I worked at the ships company ages ago ! I did one summer , chairmaker and Jacob’s wake were my shows. I was doing costumes. Now I live in LA doing costumes for Hollywood. I miss NS , shouldn’t have sold my soul for the money. Why did they let the decks rot ?!!!! We used to walk those decks.
Looks like we both did the same thing. I am a college teacher in a big city, Montreal. Left paradise for a good paying job. I bet you miss it like I do! The decks rotted because it’s not out at sea. I saw it rot year by year. The same thing happened to the Hector in Pictou. Watch that video in my list and you’ll be shocked!
@@robbieanddadshow when I worked there, the ship was still in fairly good shape. We use the actual room for the actors dressing rooms. Spent hanging out on the back deck.
What a fun filled day! Thanks for sharing. ❤
Glad that you enjoyed it. Truly a great place to visit.
You had a jam-packed visit! It was so great to see you guys. We look forward to your next visit!
Thanks it was like returning home!

Love Parrsboro. Been there a couple of times and going this summer. Maple Inn.
I used to live around the corner on Pleasant street!
Hey, just watched your video, The Glooscap Restaurant you talked about, not renowned, it was rebuilt. They had a fire a few yes ago.
@@mark-anthonyrector2163 I heard. It’s a completely different place now.
So can i ask who you are?@robbieanddadshow
@@mark-anthonyrector2163 I used to work at Ship’s Company for 3 seasons and lived in Parrsboro during the summers with Stephen Kay
The Glooscap Tavern burned down in 2017 or 2018 and was completely destroyed, that's why the building looks entirely different.
That’s very sad because the old Glooscap had a cozy family feel. The new one is completely different.
