First time peach project for me. Just finished processing about a hundred or so peaches. 1st pickings from our one tree after learning how to "compel" it to finally yield fruit last fall using the baseball bat method. Few hundred more to pick as they ripen. Probably beat the tree a bit too much! I wish I would have watched her slicing method earlier since she did in seconds what I fumbled thru all afternoon. Anyone want peaches?

I had this same problem with my peaches 🍑 which we picked off my In-laws tree. My husband told me that they didn’t look pretty like Shelly’s because ours are not Cling Free or Freestone peaches. We’re in southeastern Texas so,…the variety that grows here isn’t as fine as Cling Free or Freestone.
They wouldn’t peel at all like hers at 30 sec to 1min in the boiling water. Disappointed ☹️ with that but,…I kept going anyway and have 6 qts of peaches in my freezer this afternoon. Don’t give up! 😂 It will be SOoooo worth it in winter when you have a peach cobbler or peaches & ice cream.
      👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍑🍑🍑😁😁

Can you please include the # of peaches that would fill 1 quart freezer bag. The amount of sugar used and the amount of fruit fresh as well. I buy a flat from my local Menninites . I usually can . But I am looking for an easier faster way. Also I want to add peaches to smoothies. It would be wasteful to open a gallon size Mason jar of canned peaches for one smoothie. Even a very light syrup can be too sweet when eating straight and the syrup is not drained off. Please add the info to this page. Thank you/ You make it look so easy. I find that my pits don't always allow me to cut in perfect slices, meaning par boiled peach remains on the pit while slicing making my pieces odd shapes. Not as attractive. And wasteful too .

Tatu, when you buy locally grown peaches in season the taste and texture is so much better than any you can get from the store any time of the year. That's why I freeze locally grown peaches for the winter.

Yeah FRESH I agree 110% but not when you froze peaches and then unfroze then it's the same test like when you buying them in the winter time, no?(AND IN A SIMPLE TERMS IF I WOULD HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE PROCESS I WOULD SAY like this- peaches to keep warm, they will release sugar from themselves very quickly and it's just it is what it is ,it's not me just saying that)
And about sugar you added -don't they make sweet anything even in the winter time?
