Do you mean when his Knight was on f6 and Levy moved his king to e7? If so he had to move his king because he was in check, and if he traded off his knight after pawn takes back on the f6 square it’s a passed pawn since it’s defended by the queen, so to move the king off to the side is probably the best move since a move like king to e6 is intimidating because after those knights are traded off anyways he can put his rook behind his queen on f1 and it’s just a scary position to be in

Question, I am trying to get better at chess. Could he not have won the night through a check by taking the pawn, then proceeding to take the knight?
