      I just got one a couple of days ago, and the quality is video is absolutely atrocious. I don't know if I got a bad unit, or if Browning went off the deep end, but my two year old Brownings outperform this one by ten country miles. The 4K is just a pixelated mess, and when I set it to 1080, it looks JUST as bad, only in smaller size,. I thought that surely, if they're selling a 4K, I can at least get a full 1080 with good quality, but it's FAR worse than my older 1080 Brownings. Just whoah. I'm going to test it over the weekend, and most likely send it back on Monday.

      @@focused-on-nature The 4k can look more grainier than what we are used to with the 1080. However, depending on the lighting you can still get some really crisp video out of it. Its different for sure, the 4K resolution is made for being able to play on larger screens, stretched out, etc. Let me know what you decide.

    Great video. Will there be a part 2? I’m on the fence as to which browning camera I want to buy. Also, I was your 1000 subscriber. Congrats!

    tops when it comes to out door camera. i have one that a bear tore off a tree broke
    back of camera . glued it back together and still on the job after 3 years. cant beat that!

      Yes, I have also had a black bear get some of my cameras, and luckily the Brownings survived it lol.

    k, but it's not really 4K though, is it? kinda like the stealthcam, which gives better results on 1080.
    also, how much memory does it use, set to 4K, as compared to how much memory 1080 uses?
    i think the 4K is still a gimmick, just for sales. same as the fake MP #s that all trailcams advertise.

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  3 роки тому

      The 4k video makes the files big and takes up a lot more space vs. the 1080. I have some videos that I got after I did this video and you can tell its a higher resolution. The example videos, I put in this video the detail is very good. Depending on lighting it takes beautiful videos. You can also get that grainy effect depending. As far as true 4k a lot of variables go into that, so im going off of what Browning advertised.

    • @zzz7zzz9
      @zzz7zzz9 3 роки тому

      @@Outdoord ya, well, they also advertise 30+ MP ratings, etc, which are total lies, so, i wouldn't go by manufacturer 'specs'.
      I don't think any cam is truly 4K. And besides, the human eye is incapable of seeing 4K anyway, so what's the point. It's all marketing for sales. We already have 8K tv's, even though 4K was almost pointless. It's just for marketing to be something new and generate new sales.
      I always read/see where people are going gaga over a cam being 30MP, etc, because they are impressed by large font advertising on the packaging. No cam is 30MP, yet they just believe what they reading.

      @@zzz7zzz9 Part of the reason I do these videos is so people can see for themselves what the camera has to offer in action. Then they can make a decision on wether its something they want to purchase. I personally like the Brownings the best, they are reliable and have awesome quality. There are a ton of options out there, but for me they have kept me happy.

    • @zzz7zzz9
      @zzz7zzz9 3 роки тому

      @@Outdoord i get it. and i agree, partly. the brownings, as a whole, are very good cams. they are well-built, and quite dependable. but, they are also very over-priced. and, they aren't flawless. they often have temperature misreadings. they very often have their usual audio hiss noise. and every browning i've had, has been plagued by lens-fogging at night. and no other cams that are usually set in the same vicinity ever have fogging. night vids are most important to me, as that's when most action happens, usually. and a cam's night video, is the real test for it's quality.
      your vids don't seem to have the fogging issue, so maybe they've remedied it?

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  3 роки тому

      @@zzz7zzz9 I think Brownings prices are competitive. I have had some fogging but it hasn't been consistent for me, as temperature and weather play a huge part in that. Humidity and rain during the summer is the only time I can remember it especially here on the east coast depending what time of year them conditions can do it to any camera. The audio noise your referring to, Browning does firmware updates that you can download to fix that. The temp misreadings with extreme temps and the temp change also batty life etc can affect all of that. No matter the brand finding a perfect camera to fit your everyones expectations can be tough, I think thats why they release new models every year to try and make them better. Also offering people a variety to pick from. The browning Recon Force 4k Edge takes awesome night pics and videos. If thats one of the main things your looking for this camera is great.

    Ive got the recon force 4k, its good but it stops recording after 300 videos. I've tried all the settings and its not the card. I do like this one though. I have 4 other browning cameras and the dark opps XD is my favorite. And they all make noise in the audio in the video mode. You can watch one of my videos with the browning cameras and hear it. I've been running browning cameras for 5 years now and I also run other different brand cameras. Great video though

      I haven't experienced the same. Part 2 of this video is coming soon keep an eye out for that. Check for a firmware update, I have the link in the description of this video. That should help fix the noise you are hearing. Thanks for checking the videos out!

      @@UKSTAGROSCO I experienced the same thing. You have to play 4k on something that supports 4k. Also don't use ultra sd cards in the brownings. I changed that and mine are crisp.

    Thanks for the "review" The Video quality is good, and probably extrapolated, but it is really good in good lighting, but the hunting as the flash adjusts is irritating, but then I guess its concentrating on getting the closest subject exposed right..
    After watching this I will NOT be buying a Browning 4k at this point. Clearly Browning are not there yet. But to have a card failure (consistently as you point out) in the field is a huge fail in my book.Ill but a ToGuard H100 instead

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  3 роки тому

      The card issue was only that one SD card. Once I switched no issues. I dont think this model is for everybody though. Hopefully you give a Browning a shot they have a lot of models for just about everyone.

    Would you choose this or the patriot?

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  3 роки тому +1

      I bought both of them however, these questions are always tough to answer because it really depends on what you are looking for. I use video a lot on my trail cameras, so if thats what your are looking for out fo these two, I would say the RFE4K. In the right lighting this camera takes very crisp video! It also gives you options with higher resolutions etc. They can also have a grainy look to them. Keep in mind though if you're running 4k the files are really big and take up a lot of space. So, I dont know if you have a need for that. I would recommend either camera to everyone depending on use. Either one will do both pictures and video. If you want really good pictures I personally like the Patriot, which also takes good color pictures in low light. On the other hand the RFE4K also takes quality pictures. I hoped that helped you out.

    So where is the 4K ?

    • @Outdoord
      @Outdoord  3 роки тому

      If you are referring to the resolution of my video. The editing software I use compresses the footage to make rendering times faster. However, the 4k before rendering wasn't much of a difference at all. So this is the closest I could get for you guys.
