Please include the calculation progress for new mesos based on previous meso data in the next updates. Doing it manually is such a pain.

  • @MegaJasonmiller
    @MegaJasonmiller Рік тому +266

Thats been the biggest pain for me with the app so far, I thought the app was going to restart my last meso with a logical progression, but I had to first copy the meso and then go back and forth between the old one and the new one to get the loads from week 1. This is a bit too manual IMO, hopefully in the future you can just re-roll your last meso with a percentage progression based on your last week performance, and then make your minor edits if needed.

Finished my first year long programming, split into 6 month intervals about a month ago. I felt so lost and empty. I blasted through every goal that I'd set and felt as though I was training without a purpose. I was just spinning around in the gym during my deload, trying to figure out what's next. I tried programming a powerlifting program but you guys make that shit look easier that it really is. The more research i did, the harder it got to formulate something. Programming that stuff smart is tough. After watching this video, I think all I have to do, is just continue with what I was doing because it worked, focus on the technique more than I already have been and getting the reps up.

I like the app, but since it's in beta I will tell you what I would have liked to see on the website (I have no issues with the fact that you're saving %30 from not having it as an app on the app store, but I would like to see some of those savings put towards r and d). Based on my experience so far, I would like to see:
    1) automatic exercise selection *based on the equipment you have access to*. Me for example, I don't have a bench, only a barbell, some weights, a squat rack, and some dumbbells. I have to select my own exercises rn, which is so so.
    2) I'd like to see the mesocycles progress in the same way that they do in those sample programs you have in the hyperthrophy landmark article series.
Otherwise I thoroughly enjoy the app so far, I'm curious to how my physique will improve with the increased workout adherence I'm seeing from the convenience of the app in every other aspect.

I've been experiencing strange epiphanies of late. Chief among them was the following:
Ideal is first and foremost achievable. I just cannot consistently track my food anymore, no matter the phase I'm in. It stresses me out. It fills me with deep dread even after an aggressive mass phase and two weeks of active rest and eating ad libitum. I can't step on a scale either.
I have thoroughly fucked up my mind by focusing on my looks and weight.
Nobody cares anyway. Nobody even notices I've gained fat and even if they did, they wouldn't care or comment on it.
Now I'm just putting the absolute minimum of effort into my diet. I focus all the more on training, getting the most out of the least volume trough technique and tempo.
If bodybuilding starts sucking the fun out of life, stop toning your body and start toning down unnecessary effort. That is my ideal goal right now.
Just had to say it. Even though I went on a bit of a ramble there. Just one more thing...
Of course you can always inject tren. Or if you're doing that already, inject more tren. It's easy, effective and extremely healthy for your body as well as your mind.

Sounds like you're a little depressed bro. Eat more beef it helps even if you're not on carnivore. Helps me. Get some sun. Take less stimulants. If I take too much caffeine to get my workouts done I get depressed. Also when I eat too much junk food and carbs or processed foods. I thought it was all bullshit at first until I started to pay attention to how i feel a day or two afterwards.

This really is the perfect program for people who wish to move on to the next level of their fitness program but don't live around larger cities where they have access to great trainers. Heh, it's also a heck of a lot more affordable. Adding the videos on both the ap and YT in general certainly makes doing things even simpler.
It's funny, I received my first ISSA cert back in 2007 but it is still difficult for me to design programs for myself. I do exactly what I do not do when training clients. I switch exercises. I train...intuitively. Not switching exercises because something isn't working or is causing pain, but bc I don't feel like doing them that day which is *terrible.* Obviously with a trainer that rarely happens. You say _"Man, I am so not into power cleans today"_ and they say *_"Yeah great, now throw two plates on and warmup."_* Now the ap may not be as good as a knowledgeable personal trainer or coach since it does not yell at you, call you the pu5533 word (yet) or give you a spot, but it does help keep you accountable as if you aren't going to follow it then why are you paying for it? If making your own program and spreadsheets was working great then why did you choose to use it to begin with? Oh yeah, because it wasn't.
Great program, exceptional adaptivity, though I would like to see more from the ap in regards to suggested weights. I've never seen the algorithms used so I can't make a specific suggestion, but having the program up the suggested weights would help _in my opinion._ If it is too much then you manually adjust, the program then knows it overshot, makes a digital note and lowers the expectations a bit the next time around. If it undershoots and you have to adjust up, same thing. I'm not saying it needs to be an AI based on forward backwards or forward forward algorithms you need 100 A100's to run. That's silly. For now at least. Once they get the forward forwards really tight and you can run 10 instances on an APU or 100 on a midrange GPU then perhaps...that's for later though. Right now more logical progression without user input would be cool, as would the chat between the programs as periodizing your diet to match your individual day would be fantastic. Progressive improvements would be my main goal for the ap though. Either way, there is nothing better on the market right now, and this tool can realistically help tens of millions of people in the US alone.
Good luck and great work. Keep improving and doing your best, that's all anyone can do, and all anyone should reasonably expect (err, unless you lie and say you can do something you can't, but that's on you. Don't do that folks, it just makes you look silly.).

If I could tell the app that I dont have a smith machine or I only have up to 80 pound of dumbbells to deal with. I don't know if it happens to other people, but when I train legs, after doing squats or deadlifts, I can't manage to do many sets of complementary exercises because I start getting very painful cramps in my quadriceps that prevent me from doing enough sets. Is this because I'm doing too many sets of squats or deadlifts? Normally, I do 10 sets of 5, and it doesn't seem like too much volume to get cramps so quickly. Could it be due to my diet? What type of foods should I prioritize to improve the performance of my legs? Do the cramps means the end of the training session? Please help!

Plenty of sodium, potassium, calcium. All of those are used in muscle contractions, so if you're deficient in them, then you'll have performance issues. Basically, plenty of salt, bananas, spinach, dairy on training days

What sex should a trans man on testosterone (i e female on testosterone) register themselves as in the app? (Obs: not an SJW by any means, just asking because I’m uncertain as to whether volume tolerance is more affected by biological sex than by exogenous sex hormones or vice versa. I’m happy to register myself as whatever sex will yield me the best results.)

@@akbananachucker2441 ‘it’ is a female who wants to be a man and who therefore injects the primary male sex hormone, testosterone, on a regular basis in order to resemble one. Testosterone also happens to be an anabolic steroid that tends to ameliorate hypertrophy, but I’m not sure if being on it would affect RP’s volume recommendations, which is why I asked the question above. I hope that makes sense.
