Under these types of circumstances, NEVER forgive your abuser, never give them a second chance. If they were truly sorry, they would have never hurt you in the first place. Forgiving this type of person only gives them permission to continue.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking too. At the end that officer said you can always come to the police, we can help you, HA, she went to you several times, & you offices & authorities didn't do ****, UNTIL she went missing & was too stupid to realize OMG he was going to kill her. That should've been a well known fact BEFORE he kidnapped her & killed her! I'm not in the UK, I'm in the USA & sounds like the same story here, O go to the police they will help you, NO they won't, once you go missing or your body is found, then they think what could we have done to protect her? That's like getting a protective order that's seriously laughable, the suspect ONLY thinks its just a PIECE of PAPER that's it. Paper is NOT going to stop someone from hurting or killing anyone, but there too stupid to realize that, or just don't wanna acknowledge their damn job.
I tried too years ago after I got married & had an ex that refused to leave me alone, so I TRIED to get a Protective order, they refused me saying unless I either married or have his child they couldn't help me at all! So I had to do something I never thought in a millions years I'd do, get a gun & learn to use it, as I was terrified of guns all my life! it took years to get him to leave me alone. Even his wife told the police what he was doing but she too thought it was funny! They lived about 30 mins from us, the police there said because he was harming me in our town 30 mins from them, they refused to help me, BOTH ends the police REFUSED to help me at all! I lived in fear for damn near 15 years before he was caught doing that to someone that lived in the same building as them! Both him & his wife were arrested & jailed for (get this..... 10 years), but it was enough to move & him not knowing anything about me of where I was at all.
So the police saying go to them, NOPE, do it my damn self, the police will only do so much & then stop as its too much for them!

I took a gun class years ago, the instructor was a retired cop, & he advised us to never rely on the police to prevent crime, what they do is show up after the crime has been committed. Sad. But I firmly believe that they’re so used to nothing, except shoplifting & small stuff that they don’t know how do handle the BIG tragic events, like this one. A driver smashed into my car a while ago, as he did a U turn right into my car, but the cop was too lazy to give the guy a ticket, so it had to got to arbitration, where I won, then met 2 other ppl right after my wreck who said the same thing. Often, they’re burnt out & Too complacent to do their jobs.

Sadly it's the same for everyone, you can have a stalker in your garden & you'll be told sorry, they're not actually doing anything wrong.. if they enter the property then we can do something.
If they've entered the property it's already too late.
Also found it interesting how whoever the blonde lady was said something to the effect of 'we had no evidence he was back in the country.' AFTER she'd gone in to report it just to be told 'well... we've seen nothing from his passport.' Like fake passports have never been heard of before.. tf is that? & if it's as easy as just calling up the phone to hear if there's an international tone or whatever, why didn't they do that with her in the room when she reported he'd been seen in the area? Seems like that would have been the perfect time to check but no, we'll just check his passport even though he knows he's a wanted man. 🙄 like if you want a job you can be lazy at.. police officer is not the job for you.

I've read/watched way too many cases where domestic abuse/stalking has been a prevalent factor and there's one line the police seem to trot out every time someone tries to get help: "we can't do anything until THEY do something" 🥴 the system still doesn't take seriously enough how dangerous abuse/stalking is and prefers to play down the severity until it's too late. You guys don't help, you're idle until the worst has happened and then you scream we need to do better - start doing that NOW and stop just saying empty words until you're willing to come through on that promise.

It doesn’t appear that they provided her with any support or advice on how to deal with an obviously dangerous situation, she shouldn’t have been living in a residence he knew the address of. Did she feel the need to maintain contact on her own for her son or because the courts told her to? Because the guy in the video said there “had to be a level of contact”. Uh, no there should not be a level of forced contact between a victim and their abuser. 3rd party supervised parenting time AFTER he attends counseling and deals with all his criminal matters. The guy has zero consequences for his actions because the court system in the UK apparently treats perpetrators of domestic violence like all they did was get a parking ticket instead of the monsters they are. Stellar police work! Sadly though there's no winners, but it's great that he thought he was so clever, but he wasn't. No comfort for his wee son . A father's hatred for his ex wife was more than his love for his child. As I was listening I kept telling her to move house , change her name etc etc. Tragic.

A mother only leaves behind her child if she truly fears for her life or she’s been killed! Those are the only 2 situations possible! A mother’s LOVE for her child can’t be broken!

A good mother yes. This poor woman 😢 she loved her boy.
So sad. Men like this need locking up the first time they are abusive!
I know of kids who have been neglected by their so called mothers who disappear all over the place sadly into drugs and men.

Seen this one before, I see the husband went through a lot of steps to conceal the crime. But when police turn the focus onto a crime like this the criminal invariably leaves some clues behind which sink them.
