      @@WarbirdFan66 I take it you just removed the stickers from the standard model? I was looking for the kit version seeing yours all white.

    Wonderbar - i love the Luftwaffe scheme - Looks Fantastic and very scale, , you said you have used a gyro is this for assistance while hand launching? , as that's one thing that im scared of with models that need to be hand tossed/launched you dont know which way they are going to pitch and how violent this may be so do you recommend a gyro for hand launch models as i have two of them now i just got the fly-cat from hobbyking and im still not ready for the assembly as the weather here in Melbourne has been bad to say the least but also i have the hobbyking efx racer which i put on landing gear from 3d printed purchased on ebay and that works well but i would like to hand launch models with no undercarriage as thats what they where designed to do but its a bit scary so if you can give me some advice on using gyro and which one would be a good purchase as i would need 2-3 of them , and this video was a great one to watch thank you for sharing your build and opinions always great to get that extra help from experienced people in this area , cheers from Melbourne Australia

      Hi Andrew, and thanks for checking out my video, and yes handlaunches can be a bit tricky sometimes, and I found gyros a very helpful tool not only to make planes fly better but also to prevent them from doing weird stuff right after launch when they are still relatively slow and unstable. The gyro in combination with the launch phase that I always programm on my TX are still no magic-bullet but they at least give you 2-3 seconds more time to get your hand on the stick and take control.
      Here are my general tips on hand launching, 1. a launch phase with a few extra clicksup elevator (your aim is a 10-15° climb), gyro or not, it makes hand launching saver and easier 2. Do not use your left arm for the toss (unless you practiced that or are in fact a lefty), a controlled, straight and slightly elevated throw is key. 3. a good grip is important, a piece of waterproof sandpaper glued onto the fuselage at the right position keeps your fingers from slipping. 4. Always, and I mean always launch straight into the wind, no exceptions from this general rule. 5. Full throttle is not always your friend, that goes for prop-planes especially, there is always the torque effect ( I'm sure you know what I mean), keep that in mind, 70% is sometimes the wiser choice.
      Now about the gyro itself, the plane has to fly ok without the gyro first...otherwise it could mask or hide general problems with the model, like wrong CoG or misaligned control surfaces and such...so for the maiden use a buddy who can toss it for you, when the bird is dialled in than it's time to think about the gyro...and I can not really tell which one might be the best one for you or your plane, mostly because I don't know what kind of radio you are flying with (drop me a line what Tx or system, if spektrum for example AS3X of course).
      Wow, this almost became a novel ;), Ibut i hope it helps a little...blue skys and thanks for watching

      @@WarbirdFan66 Thank you so much for the indepth infoirmation for me im ver very gratefyul you took the time to expalin in such detail i cant begin to tell you how happy i was to see that you actually wrote so much as for me that shows a lot and that your happy to help , i too sometimes can write as you put it novels but some things need more than just a few sentebces to be explained thouroghly , ok now getting back to this im flying at the moment with a hitec flash 7 radio i have found that it has all i need but am looking at spektrum for the future as i have a few models and i can see me getting more as time gets on i have been flying for at least 20 years on and off and im more a glow flyer but these days im starting to get into the electrics and gas too , i used to fly aerobatics in my club and went to a few compertitions wasnt a first place flyer but second and third , but that was in the late 90's now im 44 yrs old and have settled in a bit and basically love scale , areobatics and now the edf jets perhaps one day maybe a turbine but thats very expensive so i think ill stick to what im doing for the moment but as the years have passed there has been lots of new gadjets and things for rc planes like a gyro for me was only ever used in helicopters and now there are flight controllers,s-bus,stabilizers and so on so to all this im a newby lol but so glad that you can help me in any way possible as its very much appreciated now enough of my babbleing and thankls again for the information ill be taking it all on board and am sure it will help me a geat deal , especially the grip with sand paper and only using 70% throttle i like that lots and its things like that im searching for these little tips mean weather you crash or not some of the time and thanks for being so helpful, cheers from me and hope to chat again real soon.
      :-) Andrew Reece

      @@andrewmagro7703 Hi, Andrew, no problem, if I can help I will ( and sorry in advance for the denglish). I also do this hobby for some time now (35+ years) and have seen a lot of changes and new tech in the hobby, And I went full electric about 10 years back and fly mostly smaler planes (1000-1600mm), and as you can see in my videos I'm more the modder or builder type, average seasoned pilot...would be happy to stay in touch, you can also find me on RC-groups (WarbirdFan66) if you into that forum thing, or via UA-cam of course, blue skies mate

    Hammer Lackierung! Mit was hast du abgeklebt, um die schwarzen Muster auf das grau zu lackieren? Wenn ich es mit Krepp mache reisse ich immer die graue Farbe ab (obwohl grundiert). Lg

      Danke, ja ist ganz ok geworden finde ich, mir gefällt die kleine so jedenfalls besser :). Und bzgl. der technick, nun ja, erstmal gibt es für Schaumstoffe spezielle Styro-Grunddierungen die halten viel besser als gewöhnlich Grundierungslacke, müssen oft auch leicht angeschlieffen werden vor der Weiterbearbeitung, machen aber das Modell auch viel steifer, fliegt sich dann fast schon wie Balsa. Und dann kann man entwedern sogenanntes Maskier-tapes verwenden (aus dem Airbrush oder. Plastik-Modellbau Bereich z.B. von Tamiya oder Hasegawa), die gibt es in verschiedenen Klebestärken und Rollen breiten (sind aber relativ teuer und hat auch nicht jeder Laden, selbst im Netz nicht, also etwas suchen)...wenn es preiswerter wenn auch nicht ganz so komfortabel auch geht, gehen auch post-it klebezettel aus dem Büro bedarf (gibt es auch in verschiedenen größen), hier nur darauf achten das Farbnebel (also beim sprühen) nicht unter die hochstehenden Kanten gelangen, einfach mal testen, viel spass beim bauen, und Danke fürs reinschauen. Wenn Du mehr übers bauen sehen willst, und mal ein paar minuten Zeit hast, schau einfach mal auf meinem Kanal rein, da gibt es viel RC-Modell Umbauten, mit dem einen oder anderen Bau-video, mit Ideen oder Eindrücken... guten flug :)

    I have heard that this is a noisy model. This doesn't seem so bad?

    • @WarbirdFan66
      @WarbirdFan66  5 років тому +2

      well it is a pusher prop configuration so it is a bit more on the noisy side of things but still not super loud, at least not at the speed i use to fly...and by the way im using the standard drive-system that comes with the plane...i like it a lot, very nice little flyer, thanks for watching, cheers

    I've been "hoovering" over the buy button! but after watching your video I decided to get one!! I plan on repainting as well!!! How did you remove the factory applied "pink" decals???!!!

    • @WarbirdFan66

      With a little bit of alcohol around the edges and carefully applied heat from a hairdryer they can be removed without a trace...its a good flyer, thanks for watching, cheers.
