I love this machine and have added a 5" Gold Finder coil which works great on the tot-lots. Only thing I wish it had was a backlight. I ended up buying the TX-850L which has a backlight.
Yep still using it. Just found draped bust and classic head large cents yesterday in a spot that we have hunted many times with different detectors. I bought mine on ebay. I believe it was shipped from China. Not too long ago I purchased another to have just as a backup. Also got it from ebay but from a U.S. seller for $150.
why do you put disc to 65? i see most people set it to 40 to put iron in the low tones. I guess you just dont want to hear anything below 40? i am a beginner. Thanks!
I normally put the disc to 50. Usually anything under 50 on that machine is iron or junk. Some people like to hear the iron. Id rather not hear it. Just my personal preference
@@miltfuoss5173 Thank you for the quick answer. That makes sense. I spent all day today hearing junk iron nails and screw, but i was never going to dig them, so maybe should bump it up.. Hope it does not affect the depth though.
@@tehdreamer it shouldnt affect the depth. The left sensitivity knob affects the depth, I have always been able to run it at 100% sensitivity without much interference. Its a really stable detector. Pay attention to the numbers though and not just the tone. Sometimes I get a signal that isnt a high tone but still shows numbers in the low 80's and it ends up being a deep coin. Also watch out for the high tones that give an iron grunt when you start swinging to the outer edge of the target. That's usually iron with a hole in it. I get alot of crap from my friends for using a chinese detector but the TX is a great machine. I have several more expensive detectors but I usually always use the TX cause it just works for me.
@@miltfuoss5173 Appreciate the tips, still learning the machine. As far as I understand TX is a direct clone of Fisher Gold Bug Pro which is around £600 and a very good mid range detector for gold and coins. TX is £135 and just as a good, based on all the reviews i watched. Real happy so far. Managed to find some bullets at the beach. It does struggle in salty water with lots of rocks, but with sensitivity lower and ground balacing it can be done. Heard that people put smaller coil for the beach...
Been using it as my main machine now for at least 6 months. So far it has been fantastic. I have 5 other more expensive name brand detectors and I use this one almost every time.
