@@markgoode4109 I mixed up this jig with the other for dowels from the same author which is very troublesome for alignment. This one has been fine for me as well.
I wondered about that too. Go to 8:00 and you can see where he puts the self-centering sliders back on. Th extra piece is to match the thickness of the rotating arms at each end. Otherwise if routing in the middle of a long board, there would be a gap between the jig and workpiece where the routing occurs, and if doing it on the end of a long piece as he does in the first attempt, the jig would not be flat but sit at an angle on the workpiece.
Its to make up the difference of the thickness of the thinner centering bars. That way the plexigass and the centering bars are flat on the piece being mortised. Also helps if one of the thinner centering bars is not on your work piece. Having that piece of plexiglass on there will keep the jig flat on the work piece
Hi, simply the best. Could you tell us witch minimum size for the piece of wood (thickness) because i often work with 16-18 mm and make mortise 6mm. Thank you for answer and for give us many simple & practic jig.
I have to get a plum router like yours thats slick cordless i have to make those jigs one for my regular router second one for my ryobi cordless palm router 18v

Fantastic work! I love the way you put everything together, through design to construction . Thanks for sharing
To the haters, this is just an example. You should be able to adapt this to your particular sized router. Over all i like it.

What is the purpose of the small piece of plastic?
Had me confused, as well..
I guess it is to provide the required thickness visavis the drill bit.
Super little jig; excellent idea. Yes I will be making one of these for sure. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Best wishes. :)
So: after a year period, did you make it? If you did, how much is the misalignment?

Genial seu trabalho, muito útil. Farei um com urgência e igual. Parabens.
I really like the adjustable self-center design, but I still cannot figure out why you add a little acrylic block in the center?🤔
Maybe it’s to support on the wood 🤷🏻♂️
