Diriyah is the largest cultural project in the world and what I saw is a very small part of the project that will be opened in 2029. There are many constructions there and it will contain tall towers in the form of traditional Saudi construction.

It is common for new visitors to get shocked on the uber/taxi thing. The city traffic is insane despite the big roads. Hopefully the opening of the metro will help a bit. Enjoy.

The first part you were in is the the upscale cafes and restaurants I mentioned to you in a previous comment, the second part is the actual historical Diriyah, which, as you can see, lie mostly in ruin after the Ottomans destroyed it in 1818.
There is a huge development project right next to it called Diriyah Gate Development, which is a large scale tourism project the government is spending billions developing infrastructure for as part of Vision 2030, and is supposed to open gradually starting from 2026.

I would suggest you go to the South. Try out this natural place. I have seen nothing like it worldwide.

For the modern looks it indeed didn't look like this the early days but
its a more of a theme than exact thing it was back then.
