This was such a clear, realistic video. Thank you so much. I am getting my BS in Biology this year and going back to school for an MBA cuz I realized that I don't see myself doing anything related to healthcare in the future (I was a pre-pharmacy student, haha). Thank you!
Thank you very much :) I'm basically being encouraged to major in computer science because it's one of the most popular majors these days. However, I have no idea if I'm going to enjoy it or even understand it. I have similar concerns. I keep thinking about my future (mostly about my talents, interests, wife and children) and how I would support my family but also stay and grow as an interesting person, haha. I'm currently the headboy of my school and I love interacting with all the kids, my teachers and peers. Like you mentioned, I just enjoy the leadership aspect. Everyone is telling me that I'm thinking too far into the future, but I can't help it because I feel that if I don't think about it now, then I wouldn't be able to think about it as much in detail as I can now, in the future, because I still have a plethora of options right now. I'm still contemplating a lot of future decisions, but it's comforting to know that you went through these phases too. Just the knowledge of other people going through the same challenges is pretty relieving. But yeah, looks like there is hope then. I hope life in university will make my interests clearer to me. Until then, just gonna keep searching, hoping, working and praying :)
I always liked watching your college vlogs even though I never thought of attending college it just helped with making myself productive in a weird way lol 😂 but I’m finally going to attend college and I’m glad you made a video on this topic I can always depend on you Abby! ☺️
I really liked the advice. I myself, I am not sure of the path I will choose. I recently found a passion for Stable Isotopic Geochemistry. For I love science and I was always wanting to be a scientist. Unlike other fields of geology I like being in a cubical or laboratory. I figured that I would need to double major in Chemistry and Geology. Also to take classes in Physics, Astronomy, mathematics, and Computer Science. I think that this late in my life, for I am 33 years old, had many years of not knowing what to do with my life. I had a friend that wanted me to do Organic Chemistry. My mother wanted me to do Chemical Engineering. My father wanted me to go into software or electrical engineering. When I was in the 8th grade I dreamed of being a Geologist. So in the 9th grade I started researching colleges. In the 10th grade I took the PSAT. I failed miserably. So for many years I simply did not try. I finally realized that I still like Geology but in the way of Geochemistry. For I wanted to do that since I was a child. But then recently I found that I love even more, Stable Isotope Geochemistry. Thank you for getting my mind straight. Good Bye :)
This is one of the best college advice videos I've ever seen!! Very real and honest- not cliche at all! It's clear that you love to help people and it's very admirable that you use UA-cam for that reason. Hope you're enjoying your college experience!
finally found a video that helps! i feel like i can relate with you 100%!! I’m good at math too and i love it but I’m not sure if i would like to do hard math every single day. what are the odds that we live in the same state?! I’m a junior in hs and don’t really know what’s for me. I wanted to do accounting but don’t really know why and I’m losing interest. I also have the same three priorities as you, i feel like we are the same person😳Omg super stoked but thank you for this amazing video!
Mel C I said the same thing! I liked math growing up until freshman year and i didn’t have a good math teacher again till junior year that sparked my interest again. My junior year is when I lovedddd math I kept an A all year but I know if I have another bad teacher/professor that motivation would be gone. My aunts an accountant so I always said I wanted to do that until I shadowed her at work yesterday.. after that all the doubt came back. I’m not so sure I want to do that anymore and now i’m just totally confused):

You seem like the sweetest person, and someone that I feel like I could be friends with in real life! You said that you struggle because you haf mulitple passions but what if you don't really have one? :/ I feel like I have some interests in some areas but they aren't sustainable carears or what if I burn out?
