Should I keep the truck and DUMP ALOT OF CASH IN IT, and listen to MINNIE Bitch and Complain?? Or Should I get it running and sell it for a profit and go down the road happy???
Keep the truck Pete, it's already awesome and it's going to look beautiful when you're done with it. You have the know how to fix it up over time cheaper than anyone else could and you can always sell it in the future if you need the cash, those trucks are only getting more and more desirable.
Congrats on finding a kewl ol Chevy box truck Pete! I'd scuff and satin clear it as is and preserve it.... Whether you stash the 454 OR SB it for better fuel economy etc. That is ALL on you...😎
Thanks Pete! I’ve learned a lot from you and it’s crazy you bought the same truck i have and been working on for ten years. Thank you for being a huge inspiration in my life!
Keep it Pete, its going to be a really beautiful truck with your magic. 454 wow . We dont have many of them in Australia unfortunately. Very nice truck, please keep it.
I had once just like it. It was green and white 74 Cheyenne Super 454 400 hydrostatic with 411 posi rear full floaters, it was my first truck for $200 out of the junk yard, my dad told me if you want a pickup truck I was gonna build me one. 👍🇺🇲
I didn't get the 454 or trans with it tho they were already sold..found me another 400 automatic for $100 and a 327 small block out of another junk yard for $ 275 to put back in it to get it running oh and a fuel tank..a pass door that was gone off of it and bought an entire front clip off a 4×4 in a junk yard cause the original one was bashed up and rusted out.👍🇺🇲
Congrats my friend Pete! Been hearin ya talk about getting one of those for many years, looks like it's finally happened, great overall shape for a '73, and that big block 454, Yes Sir! Looks like an awesome project and even Minnie seems happy about it also, happy wife happy life! Great score bud!
I think square body chevy trucks where the best most simply designed trucks ever made. They are real easy to throw a new engine into, and the transmissions can be rebuilt easily yourself if you have any kind of mechanical skills. Once you have a good drivetrain in them they will run forever. I currently have a chevy square body crew cab 1-ton 4X4 that is bad ass.
I love that year and color brings back fond memories I've also got one like that loaded with factory wooden bed that going to need to be restored not far from you.
Awesome truck Pete my daily drivers 1970s Chevy K 20 love them old Chevy trucks, buddy. I think you got a real good deal not even knowing what you paid for. It that truck will be worth every penny you put in it.
Get it going, clean it up and drive it for a while to see if it’s for you . If not, out the door it goes to a new owner. Either way it’s a great looking truck.
Saw it when I did my drive by a week or two back. Looks good minus a couple of back wheels that were missing and I presume being rebirthed! Used to have an 85 GMC 3/4 ton long bed sierra classic with the 350. Brought back old memories.
Where I live square's are extremely popular I've painted done quite a few of them lately Two of them have gone trophies the past year I had one about 3 years ago short 1/2 ton with a mild 454 I should have kept 😂
I have a 1973 Cheyenne super 10 did I inherited all original just like that old truck I moved it from one garage to the other 28,000 original miles on it been after that truck ever since I was 16 years old now I just can't bring myself to do anything to the truck inherited from my favorite uncle
With cars and trucks of that vintage, you never want to have the first year of production. They always had problems that got worked out in the first year. My dad worked at a GM BOP (Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac) assembly plant from 1946 to 1976. He was a repairman (fixed defects after inspection) and had some crazy stories to tell. At that time "quality control" had a different meaning. It was not at the top of the list.
That’s a nice truck Pete is that a turbo 350 or 400, great engine that 454 big block, would look beautiful when restored, run and drive and do the rest along the way
cool truck. Had a bunch in a fleet driving for there Rocky Mountain News in Denver. Had fords and Chevys. Had to watch the Chevys popping uncomanded into reverse. Use Caution! Good video. No political bullshit
On that note --- to restore the side moldings on a truck like this -- it's better to buy new aftermarket then restore the old stuff,,, but then on the other hand when you don't have the money to buy new -- time to restore what you got.. Keep your eyes open for how we fix it up!
@@RW-bi2rp yes. Those are good trucks regardless of the fuel tank location but if it were mine I would move the tank or put one somewhere else on the truck. Those trucks have stood the test of time.
Minnie looks as gorgeous as ever. She's just the real deal. It gives hope to mankind and men everywhere that my friend Pete convinced a woman like Minnie to be seen with him. At times. It's a kin to Rick Okasic and Paulina Porisckova. Nice truck.
Pete My Friend Pete, would ya be interested in trading an '87 light blue Chevrolet S-10 N.C. truck, solid body and frame. And '72 Harley Davidson sportster custom with ape hangers, hardtail, jockey/suicide shifter, custom paint and pin stripping. Super nicely done. I could send ya pictures. Facebook? I've always wanted C-10 especially a '73 birth year

Finally Pete is excited about an older vehicle of his own besides a vw…I’ll enjoy watching you go through this one .
I like the truck! I think it's in great condition for a 74.
This could turn into yet another entire situational fiascool, pete. Thankfully we have Minnie to keep things on an even keel.
Yeah I agree with you.. It might be a mistake fixing this thing up and dumping money I don't have in it...
Can’t wait to see it done!!
You cant go wrong with a squarebody. That is a cool truck!

@rooster68able…English is my first language and I have no idea what you said.
My Dad had a 74 C20 Cheyenne super. 454/400. I miss that truck! I would love to find a 73 or 74 K20 in good shape.
Looks like a nice original truck. Well done
Cool truck Pete!
I have an addiction to turning trucks like that into a K series. Love the 70’s color... ochre and white
I would fix it up a little and run it. Its a good truck Looks solid and has the classic square body bent hood
It’s a cool truck Pete.

I have a 76 GMC pretty much untouched they look the same and I believe the color code is Yuma gold with a little bit of flake
My old neighbor had that same exact truck and he drove that thing till the frame rotted completely out in the Midwest👍
Wow Pete! Is that Limpy"s old pick up?? HAHAHAHA! Congratulations buddy! Lookin forward to the restoration movies! ❤
Always wanted a 2nd gen truck...gotta finish the 63 first 😄 good find pete
Looking forward to watching the series on the pick up!

Congradtgulations that’s a fine rectangle body Chevy !

Good looking truck can’t wait to see ya part my it

Old chevy wants to run. Lit off the first time it turned over after sitting 15 years.
if you like it and can afford to fix it up /or not is the only thing that matters.
Pete check the inside of the glove box to see if the build sheet is on the door
👍 from Detroit , Michigan
Score one for Pete!🎉
Truck is on an angle Pete get it level then check oil

Every Chevy need two quarts to bring it to full

Poor Minnie. Pete you do know you could have pulled the trailer forward.
whats up my man Pete ??
Pete, just put enough into it to make yourself a little cash and send it down the road. Don't paint it, patina is where its at and that's cheap!
Ive been trying to find a decent 72 c10. No luck yet. 😕
Awesome TRUCK Pete! Classic.
You’ll never have to worry about passing a gas station. Eight miles to the gallon.
Yes but he won't be tied to the dealership or have any monthly payments
@@RW-bi2rp true but a more economical engine would help with gas mileage unless he doesn’t plan on driving it a lot.
@@Hotrodforddon’t be such a tool

On a big block, you can see the freaking gas gauge moving without the engine running
NOT GOOD!!!!
Hopefully that truck came with a title pete, they are useless without a title!
Yes Nick said he had it.
Yes -- Clear title for the original owner of the truck signed and ready for transferr...
