Impressive rod wrapper! I'm trying to understand the reason for double wraps earlier in the video. At about 7:45 you laid the pull thread under the final few wraps creating a single wrap finish, as most rodmakers probably do. Multiple coats of varnish should secure the wraps sufficiently to obtain strength and a smooth wrap.

At the very least could you email the dimensions of the machine so that I could make one for myself? It certainly makes sense to have the tread moving and the pole stationary. Herb

Too neat! I’m looking for duct tape and monofilament type of a fix! Nice work though!
You might try using a double-edge razor blade to trim. They're thinner than a single-edge blade.
