Always love the content you put together! Got an interesting scenario for you. We have a need where we would enable RLS for everyone to be able to create/edit their own records, but have additional columns that have CLS enabled to restrict edit ability to a small group of other users. Is this possible and does this mean dataverse applies most privileged capability, or does the RLS cancel out the CLS since the group can only edit their own records?

    Good and clear video.
    I have got a question.
I use my own user and roles table in dataverse to be able to handle security within my canvas app. This way I can give some the ability to manage users and roles without them having control in the backend and to use it on screenitems.
Is there a way where I can connect my roles in the teams security? Like when adding a role it will generate a team and when adding a user to role it will add a user to a team?

Great video Brian. I have two questions:
    1. Is this the preferred method of making fields read-only on a table level? We want to use the new editable Power Apps grid but need to ensure some fields can't be edited.
    2. If Field Security Profiles is the best way, are they solution aware? Can we set up profiles in Dev and deploy into downstream environments or do we need to configure this per environment?
    Thank you

Typically Business RUles can solve that problem for you if it's a conditional rule. You can also create two forms and secure each one based on role.

    Hi Brian, Great video!
Does these column-level security also directly integrate in a canvas app?
Like in a Gallery, does it hide the restricted values automatically? Or on SubmitForm, will it not update a read-only field?

Great question! Yes it does! It doesn't star it out but blanks it out if you don't have permission. You can then change to whatever masking you wish.

Hi Brian, is it true that column level security is not possible for custom dataverse tables?

No you can most certainly put column level security on custom dataverse tables. Maybe that's an older requirement I haven't heard of but most of examples i use are custom tables.

@@PragmaticWorks I am curious as in my case its grey out for all custom tables however available for columns in a built in system tables like Accounts, etc.

Hi....how to mask/encrypt the column/data in dataverse table?

So, the field permissions tab is empty. You have a number of items in that that you can edit. How do I add things there?

Sounds like you *might* not have saved the table after checking Column Security on the field level.
