I'm a 5 foot tall rider, I've been riding for years and never been able to put my bike on a stand since it's almost as big as me haha. I've never seen anyone putting their bike on a stand using the rear wheel, so I tried it and it worked!! It was even easier than I thought!

Heres a tip from a lifetime racer. Stand on the right side of the bike and use the front brake to help you lift the rear. Makes it VERY easy.

As someone who hardly ever ride but moves it around way more often in my garage, I never thought of lifting from the rear tire. Genius! Thank you

Super helpful, thanks so much! I'm coming from street bikes so I'm used to center-stands and rear-stands, but had no idea how to use one of these. I can't even check chain tension (properly, per the book at least) without one so I'm off to CycleGear. I can't get over how damned light these bikes are...literally half of what I'm used to. It feels like pushing an E-bike around, not even exaggerating.

Picks bike up numerous times by the subframe, but never mentions it....
I used to pick my bike up by the rear fender, right behind the seat. Picking it up that way, egged out the mounting hole and caused my fender to be loose even when torqued down..

I'm a quadrapalegic, and I can't put my bike on my stand. I love riding around the trails using my mouth operated throttle and gear shift controls! It's all good as long as I don't tip over! My saying is "Tip over means game over!" I usually lay there until a good samaritan comes along and puts me back on my bike! I once had to lay on the trail for three days until someone came along that stopped to help. I got real thirsty in those three days, which makes me prepare better before going out on a ride. I hydrate before, during, and after each ride these days!
