How much is Venice charging tourists to visit?

The city of Venice launched a pilot program Thursday that charges day-trippers a 5-euro (around $5.35) entry fee. Authorities hope this fee will discourage visitors from arriving on peak days and make the Italian city more livable for its dwindling residents.
