Cant even believe the court and cops are always in favor of the squatters just seems unreal to me. The fact that squatters family or not get all these rights and the home ONER has to suffer and in some cases be homeless themselves until the others get out. Usually after trashing the place.
In this case they weren’t considering them as squatters bc they claimed to have an agreement which squatters wouldn’t have had. I imagine being his parents contributed to the legal reactions as well-likely largely dependent on exactly who showed up to that call and their personal familial experiences
I agree with American nightmare and also it’s possibly because people who feel sympathetic for squatters and the homeless and I feel real bad for the homeless. They decide to let them stay because there’s no other place to stay where it’s warm and out of the cold and so on and so forth.
The whole "we have a verbal rental agreement" is ridiculous. I've never had my rental agreement be anything other than written. They should have been made to prove it, not the op be forced to evict them. The fact they had to break in should have been evidence that they didn't have an agreement and didn't belong there.
I did get revenge on my parents for doing something to me as well. My parents were abusive and will beat me up using a belt if i fuck up and they won’t stop even if i’m bleeding because of them, so after 2018’s lunar new year i used the money i collected to buy a baby Pitbull, i took care of him, let him roam the house freely, take him out for walks daily and eventually my Pitbull returned the favor by saving me from my abusive parents, this happened 2 years ago, while my dad was trying to hit me with a belt my Pitbull sprinted towards my dad, jumped on him and knocked him to the ground, then he bit my dad’s arm and twisted it, i can hear my dad’s bones breaking and his arm couldn’t move at all. My mom tried to save my dad but almost got bitten and ran away in fear. It was one of the greatest feelings ever

Guys seriously stories like this are totally true. There was a very true case in CA where the owners were out of town for a few weeks and squatters broke in and trashed the place. Cops would do nothing and the owners were homeless watching the squatters toss their furniture in the trash just because. It took them like 3 months of court because the squatters would never show up. This happens a lot in CA.
That's when you go down to your local biker bar and explain your problem and ask if they have a problem fixing fee. There is a reason gangsters exist and this would be one of those reasons. People willing to work outside the rules are always needed to fix those same kinds of people.
@@norazamora789no these stories aren't, this happens very frequently. Hell this happened to an apartment I rent out, courts dragged their feet for months until I had a PI investigate the judge and the squatters. This is a real story on reddit. It's just read by AI in this short. In the end his parents start a new business and they get back to acting rich, so it was bittersweet for OP.
This is the one story I actually believe because his parents get an inheritance and go back to being business owners. No cathartic ending where the parents got hit by karma and op waxes poetically about how he’s grown. Just a big, fat, old “they learned nothing”
“Ungrateful” ? WHAT DID THEY DO THAT YOU SHOULD BE GREATFUL FOR? oh yes mother! I’m so happy that you forced me to starve, sleep outside, freeze up in the unbearable cold and suffer for months!!!
I had a friend who dated this guy, extreme alcoholic, she didn’t know til this moment - he relapses, then starts threatening her. She calls the cops to get him outta there then SHE is arrested because this guy says it’s his house! (Really interested how it’ll play out cause obviously this guy has nothing, and everything belongs to my friend)
If the home is in ur name and u never rented it out WITH WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION then they have no proof they were allowed there and needed to be removed immediately
I remember this story. If im correct in the end the parents didnt care and were able to make a new company and make money well again, tho i think the parents begged for money for support. The parents werent ever good to him and they always worked and never did stuff for him. I may be off at that part its been a while
A MUCH easier way is to actually rent the house to someone, once the parents are in violation of this new rental agreement, they can be forcibly removed from the property.
if your parents kick u out at 18 and you get your Grandparents house Change all the locks ASAP 1.Because the parents most likely already have a key to the house already 2.so all the old keys are useless
A very important detail of the story is missing. What was the reason his parents kicked him out of home at 18? Had the child done something to deserve it or did they act in a truly unjust manner? Because if their son had created many legal and economic problems for them, they could also be understood for having kicked him out. And in many countries grandparents who sell the house to their grandchild for a price much lower than its value could be challenged by their legal heirs. I am talking about those countries in which by law children are entitled to a legitimate share of their parents' inheritance.
A good lawyer would have been able to prove that they didn’t have that residency down for their major bills or legal documents such as drivers license passport or irs taxes.
I'm confused about one bit of this- In the start of the story it says OP is 30, but the title says the story took place 10 years after they were 18, wouldn't they have been 28? Maybe I'm just stupid but I'm confused
Do later part of the story an update he actually went to court against them and they made them pay his rent what he demanded from them of 10,000 a month that they were there plus food and other expenses that they didn't have money for double but it was costing at the store or the service cost. And the judge ruled in his favor on that one as well they ended up going bankrupt completely again even after his dad and mom had started another business and we're starting to get successful
This is so fake, if there are no cameras to prove what the mom is saying then they can’t live there. You can’t just walk into a house and say the owner told you that you could live there.
Only TRUE FACT... Your 18, your parents are actually no longer resposable for you. Backup plan ? You had 18 years to figure out life... that part is literally on you...

That didn't happen on the state's. All property agreements have to be in writing.
