The Recon can add a bungee, so Borealis’s bungee is not replaceable. If you need a backpack with bungee, Recon is better than Borealis. Also, the Recon also with bigger water pockets. The Borealis can only barely hold a small Poland water. I have both Borealis and the Recon.
omg thank you for calling out the sternum strap is adjustable. I got one that I ordered online (for a specific color), after trying one on in the store. Had no issues on the store one, but the one from online had the straps SO LOW. I thought "did I miss this when trying it on in the store??" but PHEW. thank you for calling that out, i wouldve returned it and had no clue EDIT just checked my old TNF backpack, and that has adjustable ones too...AND I HAD NO CLUE. FOR 10 YEARS. omg

I’m looking at this vs the Borealis, but you can add a bungee cord to the Recon and have the mesh pocket AND a bungee cord storage area.

The good thing about the Recon is the laptop competent is an inch off the ground to protect your laptop so it doesn’t hit the ground.

No they're not removable, but it just looks like extra dangle when its not being utilized
