So GOOD dudes - this brought back a flood of fond memories of our fly-fishing trips to Kenn and Wreck Reeks where Scott Bannerot guided me onto my first and second dogtooth tuna on fly along with a number of wahoo - NEW Odyssey looks mint 🙌🙌🤟🤟😎
Well done!!! What a great story!!! Not many people know how Nomad Design Tackle came to be and now we get to join along on the journey. Thanks for sharing this and I can’t wait to see where this adventure goes to next!!!
Really amazing video. Thank you for sharing the amazing experience. I'd love to go do that and catch some big game fish somewhere else besides the Northeast. I'll be right there.
Hi Damon…Im the furthest thing from the type of person who even thinks about commenting on (any) UA-cam post but seeing as you ended off this episode touching on the DTX and the fact that it tracks straight every time I just feel obliged to mention that I recently purchased 5 110 DTX minnows from Bass Pr and I can’t for the life of me get any of them to swim straight. Tried multiple types of leader options and speeds ranging 4 - 10 knts. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. P.s Huge Nomad fan and I honestly think the 110mm dtx (specifically) is the most insane looking deep d’il on planet earth and I REALLY want them to swim that’s the only reason I’m wasting my time writing all of this lolol
Hi Kevin, best thing to do is contact our support team via our website, email support@nomaddesigntackle.com. They will help to trouble shoot these lures for you.
You don't know what you don't know. I have often wondered after a large fish is hooked when trolling at relatively high speed, why the immediate reaction/response of the boat captain is to increase speed. The largest fish I have ever caught was a 40-pound chinook salmon in Washington State from the bank of a modest-sized river. I am very intrigued as to the reasoning behind the increase in the speed of the boat immediately after a large fish is hooked. I have my thoughts and theories, but I would love to hear it from the professionals. Thank you.
Haha. Not any time soon that’s for sure. Great times but you need to be young and somewhat crazy to do what we did back then. Half of what we did is probably illegal now anyway😂
Damon …. trolling! What has happened to you in your old age! 😅 All you need to do is get Tim Baker out with Scotty and you’ve got the old crew back. These videos bring back amazing memories ❤
Yes they sure do!! Don’t worry there’s lots more casting in the next episodes. Trolling was a necessary evil to test the lures we had to test on these trips!!
Mate a bit out of the blue but it looked like in the old footage you guys were using the Kevlacat suncoaster or flycaster as a dory. What can you say about them one is for sale near me I’d be looking to primarily used for towing behind and used in fairly sheltered waters. But also trailer as an estuary and inshore fishing boat.
@@NomadTackle are there any charters taking people fishing to those parts of the world? Still wondering why they built the Odissey2 - just to test tackle??
DTX180s come standard with trebles, 200s & 220s with singles. You can run a treble if you wish but it can affect the action and top speed, size will depend on what model DTX, usually a 4/0-5/0
I wonder who would have been the most frequent client out there? Brandon would have to be up there. Would be nice to see him do a piece to camera talking about the Nomad trip. Cant wait for the next one

Great all rounders. Very stable and handle well, just be careful to check they have a sealed deck we had issues with water in the hulls.
@@NomadTackle thanks for the response. I’m joining you guys on the northern exposer charter in a few weeks. I am frothing can’t wait.
Pound for pound nothing fights like a dog tooth tuna
Totally!
Did they build this new mothership to charter from? Any idea how to find out about the charter?
Nomad no longer run charters sorry
@@NomadTackle are there any charters taking people fishing to those parts of the world? Still wondering why they built the Odissey2 - just to test tackle??
why don't you make the madmacs and dtx with the rear trident hook? You are using it.
what trident hook do you should i use to replace the rear oem one? thankyou

Yes for sure he did plenty of trips and would have been right up there for sure.
