    Bind to rx this way.
    The fsi6 rx comes with a small link that goes into the rx to put it in binding mode. Turn on tx while holding bind button , then power up rx with the bind plug in, the tx will bind to the rx. (use BEC on ESC to power the rx. )

    This video was very useful for me. I just bought this same transmitter/receiver combo to put in a Flite Test design. Thanks for the much needed info.

    Awesome radio I've had mine for 3 years and still going strong. I also have the flysky fs-sm60 6ch USB controller mode 2 radio that is awesome, I've had it about 3 years and now I'm only using it for my computer games like Velocidrone
    I bought a different brand radio and it bricked (main board fried) on me after a year. Thanks for sharing the great piece of equipment!

      Thanks mate, I'm well pleased with it. Reviews were good , I have resisted updating all my old 35 mhz because I thought it would cost a fortune, but this was a silly price and receivers aren't expensive either!

    Nice and concise! As someone who has spent the last few weeks looking at expanding my drone collection from just DJI stuff to FPV, this was a very helpful video on how the basics work together. Waiting on the release of a certain new TX before I burn hours on a sim. Hope you're well!

      Hi Dan, I'm pretty good thanks. But haven't flown for months :( I'm so bored with this weather, I went back into messing with rc models a bit. The FlySky is a good basic tx for the price. Loads of people have made positive comments about it on forums. A good buy. I see you have motor probs? OIl leak? My Miniplane Top80 has been giving me grief for months. Was starting easily and running well for a few days and then would flood when I tried to start it. The metering valve had a habit of not closing sometimes. I did everything possible to sort it, but it kept playing up. FINALLY fitted another carb , s/h from a guy in Ireland, (new was £185?) and it appears to have resolved the prob. Not many flying sites around where I am unfortunately either. :( Spring is coming. Maybe see you at PMC Simon's Bore event? There are a couple of vids on FPV on my channel too. I've dabbled a bit with FPV but only so I can preview what I'm videoing. A 12v car reversing monitor makes a good screen. Cheap too. Makes some vids on it? I'll be interested to see how you get on. This is a good bit of kit (it was a free one from Hawkeye) ua-cam.com/video/X63tCHipu4o/v-deo.html and my monitor etc. ua-cam.com/video/YlMrk9oB6BE/v-deo.html

      bobflyman yea only a minor issue, which is basically down to poor design on the exhaust. Testing it again tomorrow morning before work 😁 this weather ha seven dreadful, hopefully it’ll pick up again soon! Have you tried asking local farmers if they’ve got a field? Yep I’ll be at Bore chasers, really looking forward to it.
      Yea I’ll probably put a few progress videos up of the FPV stuff, see how things turn out. Will check out the links!

      @@DanielJonesParamotor re sites, I had two hopefuls, which changed there minds, they'd done it before and it didn't work out. I've got three sites that are OK. One 20 mins, but a bit of a walk with the gear. Old airfield. Quite high. It'll be great to fly from, but not flown it yet. And another 10 mins away, bit of a carry and not flown that yet either, only found quite recently. I know 2 guys that fly it occasionally though. The local council told them to stop, so I though it was a no go. But I met them, saw them fly it. Tricky site really anyway. The best is a little microlight strip 30 mins away. Park at the end of the strip, but the wind isn't often right for it. Nearly all my flights have been from there. The SW is too hilly and not that many big open pastures like oop north! It can only get better once the weather improves. I've lost my confidence a bit, though I'm sure it'll be OK when I get on a site where conditions are OK. 500+ hours paragliding but still only 15 power flights. I bet you have more than that! Part of the problem has been ongoing issues with my motor for months. Hopefully sorted now! I saw you were hoping for an early flight? I'm a bit hopeful for tomorrow too. Depends how quickly the high move away. Good luck!

      Thanks Cliff. I'm just fitting a servo in a model at the moment. I know these have been around for a long time, but I wanted to show the basics of how you connect things to receivers. I had checked all switches, I'd assumed the 3 way was 'off' in the mid position! Hence that blooming alarm going all the time and connection probs. A learning experience for me and hopefully for others! I've ordered a few more rx's. I guess it's time my 35 mhz went :( . Someone asked on another forum, did I still ride a horse! I thought it'd be mega expensive to change but this is very good for the money. I've figured out most things about how to set up a model, but not sure what to do with fail safes? Never had that facility before.

    First of all I I to say thank you for making this video!
    I just recently purchased the same radio although I’ve been flying for a lot of years I am 72 MHz that’s what I’ve been flying for the longest time and now I’m into the newer stuff because I’m flying electric now versus glow...
    so my question is, so I don’t have to purchase a transmitter & receiver for every plane that I have, is this receiver capable of controlling multiple receivers in different planes without having to bind every single time I swap from one Plane to another Or is this receiver capable of programming multiple receivers and then you just scroll through the menu and activate that plane by name in the menu?
    I sure hope you answer me ASAP because I found a brand new flysky in the box for $20 and if I need another receiver for a different plane and another transmitter I might as well just buy it now!

      Hi mate, glad you found it useful. It was a learning curve for me too as I'd been flying 35 mhz for years and had a dozen models on that 35 meg. But your question, yes, 20 model capacity. Receivers are cheap, about £7 here, and once you've binded it to the receiver it's done. It tells you in the manual how to bind, it takes a few seconds. I now have 18 models on my tx , all set up as necessary and all I have to do is go through the list, select the model by name, and it's ready to fly. I find the range easily enough too, even with the cheaper version of the rx. The model would be out of sight before it'd lose signal. The other thing that was new to me was fail safe. Check it out. If the model loses signal you can set it shut down motor and move aileron/elevator. I set mine so it will circle motor off with loss of signal. ua-cam.com/video/AQ7cRchRJ6w/v-deo.html

    Hi, I have a question. Is there a risk of short circuit , or something like that, if I plug something in the wrong place ?

    • @bobflyman
      @bobflyman  4 роки тому

      Plugging servos in the wrong way you won't do damage, they just won't work, but ESC , speed controller into a receiver wrong way, not sure. Best do it the right way! I tell you how to connect in the video! And there's loads of stuff on RC Groups forum etc. I had to learn it all from scratch when I first started. Google is your friend!

    please I have a rc car and I cannot for the life of me get it to go forwards and backwards on the right stick.. it stops if I hold the stick down and goes 50% forward when I release the stick and 100% when I push it up..

      Hi mate, planes is my thing, do know about cars really, but throttle, that is power, gas, is left stick and right stick should be steering right left? Have you connected the receiver the correct way? I think with cars you have a special kind of speed controller that reverses the motor direction too?

    What are the odds of losing a thumb in this hobby?

    • @bobflyman
      @bobflyman  2 роки тому +1

      I had 4 days in hospital and a stainless steel pin put down my thumb when I chopped it 3/4 through while tuning an IC motor. They saved my left thumb but I have no feeling in the end. Still tingles and is a constant reminder. Odds? Not bad unless you try and do stuff early in the morning before having your coffee and waking up properly.

      @@bobflyman Was starting the hobby 15 years ago with starter planes. Had a few scratches from the propellers a few times. Maybe it was a weak motor. I didn't know it can cut off fingers. Yikes! I will have second thoughts about going back to this hobby.
