It seems that people don't understand that your just one person doing this, the BBC have teams doing animations and for one person doing this, it's really good, I love Daleks master so mush, love seeing in a new way!:)
For anyone who starts to watch Josh's reconstructions I say this - if its off-putting at first, wait a minute or two, you are likely just not used to this style, but very quickly you will find yourself sucked in and you will enjoy some great entertainment! I love episode 8! well done!
I will completely binge your reconstruction of Daleks Master Plan when it is fully complete. Daleks Master plan is on my watchlist for classic who and I want to enjoy the entire serial in one sitting. I'm incredibly excited! Keep up the amazing work you do! Love your videos!
Great work here, especially the daleks - as you said, it really helps bring the episode to life. I'd love to see more episodes done like this. The Daleks' Masterplan is probably top of my list for the story I'd like to see animated properly some day, Macra Terror style, and these sorts of reconstructions go a long way towards demonstrating why.
Screw Animation, they can buy this, put it on the Box-Set! Get Ian Levine's Mission To The Unknown, and you got the Ultimate Representation of the Fandom!
Thank you for all of your hard work, attention to detail, and just overall love for my favourite show also! The Daleks' Master Plan is such a lost gem, and hopefully one day we will get to see it in its entirety, except for Episode 7 of course! :)
I agree about the Doctor’s ring being similar/a precursor to the Sonic Screwdriver. It’s a theory that first came to mind when I saw how he used it in The Web Planet. And there are other instances that I think backs it up too.
The Daleks looked fantastic in this. If anything, I think I'd prefer how the Daleks move and look in this to how they would look and move in the actual episode. Well done.
This is so good, it would be cool if the BBC asked to use this for like a dvd with the Mission to the Unknown remake, maybe ask someone in the Beeb about that ;)
Texas viewer here - I watched, saved some of your earlier Who efforts, (but promise not to post them for ridicule). Don't look back and think it was cheezy, - you put forth some very creative story writing. The fans can't be wrong. Myself, I greatly enjoyed your film techniques, and re-watched them..you really have a grasp on movie making. Hope good things happen for you. Chow...
Great reconstruction! Really brings the episode to life again. Also. You have a great narrator voice for your videos so never let anyway shame you for it❤
This reconstruction is really good - your Daleks in particular are excellently done. I’m used to reconstructions where there’s just dialogue and descriptive text over still images, so the animation is a refreshing addition. There’s nothing wrong with your voice - some people are just assholes. I agree that it is a great shame we didn’t get the Monk back for more stories. Its sad that Peter Butterworth is no longer with us. I loved him in the Carry On movies. I’m not sure who you could cast as a regenerated Monk for New Who.
I look forward to watching this, The Dalek’s Master Plan is my favourite Hartnell story as it feels like a celebration and finale to his era but I didn’t know about your reconstructions when I first watched it so I ended up watching the old loos cannon not know these updated versions had been out. Now I am watching Hartnell’s top 5 stories I will watch this version of The Dalek’s Master Plan.
This is a brilliant project. Fingers crossed you have the discipline and passion to do the whole thing. Its a massive project but an awesome one. And also hopefully the new high quality audio becomes readily available soon
Just watched these on dailymotion along with the surviving episodes on bbc iplayer, and have to say iv loved it. If your reconstructions were be released on dvd to complete the story, then I would def buy it.
It took me nearly 10 Minutes, to realize this was a Commentary! I thought you were just picking random clips, until I realized how long the video was! :)
I love the attention to detail here - the fact that you have used the Dalek with the odd repair to it's neck rings - it's correct, but many other people would have replaced it with perfect neck rings. I never saw this story - I was two in 1965, but my uncle probably did. The first Doctor Who I remember was being terrified by the first Cybermen in 'The Tenth Planet' (1966). They gave me bad dreams for years. The first show I watched all the way through, and loved, and still do, even though nobody else seems to like it, is 1968's 'The Krotons'. I've loved the show ever since.
Very enjoyable reconstruction. I wonder if 3d backgrounds and daleks or other simple design monsters could have animated people incorporated to make the end result more realistic? Anyway, thanks for spending 5 weeks on this.
Really love that shot from Power (and I was rewatching The Daleks the other week and there was a similar shot in there - I can't recall the episode off the top of my head, but it might have been a quirk of Christopher Barry's way of filming the Daleks. Obviously episode is crucial there because two directors on that story haha). And hey, people who don't like hearing your voice are just anti-Australian. I said it.
Animating people - realistically - is incredibly difficult. The CG looks great though. The only critique I have is that there are some jaggy polygons here and there. Apart from that, it's amazing work. One thing you might look at, is animating the Daleks in CG, then getting someone who can animate the characters on board. When you have perfected the two, then approach the Beeb.
It does look awesome. The Daleks look and move just like they really did. I would personally prefer if the other characters mouths moved, but this still looks really cool and I understand your decision not to have the mouths move. Everything else is extremely well done. In many ways, I prefer this to the BBC's animated reconstructions. It captures the look and feel of that era that much better and doesn't come across as "cartoony". On the subject of Deep Fake. I did see a video online where the put William Hartnell's face on David Bradley in a scene from Twice Upon A Time. It almost worked...almost. He kinda looked like a CGI Hartnell. But as you said, that would be far harder to do than animation. Who is complaining about your voice? There's nothing wrong with your voice. You're well spoken, easy to understand, so yeah...I don't see what the problem would be.
Don't listen to the whingers Joshy boy, your videos are top drawer and your voice sells the show, never felt the need to comment before, but just to reiterate, brilliant Mr Snares.
Hey again! Before I start, I'm not really asking you to do another reconstruction right away (since I know these take quite a while to create, although I don't know how long), but apparently, from what I've been hearing around UA-cam, they're apparently fixing their copyright system so that if someone strikes a video, it won't just get removed instantly; the person striking it will have to show which part of the video is the part they want to claim it for. So, if this is true (although I kind of semi-fabricated a few of the details since it's been a few weeks since I've seen the video that talked about it), this means that you can continue making your reconstructions.
I like the black supreme Dalek in this story he is awesome in billion, of ways and his nodules are a darker shade of blue than the silver Dalek warriors and also I ay this Dalek story would have been better served in its original six parts instead of been foolishly doubled to 12 parts which really did not work as well as six parts does.
"My videos, not yours." It makes me laugh when people complain about other people's videos when they could just do their own version instead of complaining. Does Volcano have the same fate as the feast of Steven?

Lovely recon Josh, your commentary was a joy to listen to as well. Hope you do more in future, but in the meantime thanks for sharing with us!

Awesome, this reconstruction looks amazing
Thanks Josh. I've watched the episode on Daily Motion and your commentary. Well done; I really appreciate all the hard work you put into this.

Excellent content and editing. It's obvious that this is a labour of love for you. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing! brilliant! Well done Josh.
Well done Josh will be watching the key to time box set this weekend thank you.
I still need to listen to this One
The London shot was outside the natnoal gallery.
I wouldn't want it done that way! the animation works fine. we don't need new actors replacing the classics. that is destroying nostalgia!
This is a brilliant project.

Excellent work and there is nothing wrong with your voice overs!
This is so well done, Josh. Would love The Dalek Masterplan to be returned in its entirety. Sadly I think The Feast of Steven may be lost forever.
Yeah no way Feast is coming back, unless someone didn’t wipe the master tape and stole it! (Which is hard to believe 😂)
@@JoshSnares A girl can dream!! 😫😭
In the words of the 13 doctor oh brilliant

You’re so good.
Josh wonderfall your so talented
I doubt the BBCls charter would allow it but if they ran a crowdfunding campaign to animate this story I reckon it'd be successful.
Really love that shot from Power (and I was rewatching The Daleks the other week and there was a similar shot in there - I can't recall the episode off the top of my head, but it might have been a quirk of Christopher Barry's way of filming the Daleks. Glad your back have a safe weekend also great video
Have you seen the original photos of the model volcano they used?
2:23 horrorsho means "good" in Russian. Thought that was quite funny given the context
When are you going to do the other episodes of the daleks master plan the same as episode 8 volcano mate
Never hahaha

Few? The monk comes back in a lot of audios. You probably heard "The Book of the Keels". Great analisis, these animation are sooo good, Well done.

Thx, wasn't remembering wich letter repeated
Can we get a Download link incase it gets taken down?
I'd be more interested in seeing the whole 12 Parts of the Daleks Master Plan, that is if they ever can find the parts that are lost.
What app/ website do you use to make these animations? Like how do you make the characters move from A to B?
Love it

Could you upload these reconstructions to some other place than dailymotion? There doesn't seem to be a way to download from dailymotion anymore.

I'd be interested in seeing the failed lipsynch tests.
I was expecting Daleks Masterchief. What happened?
BTW are there going to be new reconstructions of every episode from you?
definitely not haha
@@JoshSnares I meant every episode from Dalek Master Plan
I hate to be "that guy" but the museum isn't St. Pauls. It's the National Gallery.
