- Bobby "The Brain" Heenan in classic form, ripping the Cow Palace, George Wells, the city of Oakland, the Raiders and the 49ers while being interviewed by Gene Okerlund in this 1985 Bay Area promo.

I could never get tired of seeing the Brain !
Me neither
Love seeing Gene trying to hide his smile and not crack a laugh.
These two were the best comedy duo. Impeccable timing and quick wit on both ends. So glad I grew up spending my Saturday mornings watching these two.
Wrestlers and managers used to spend the entire day at the TV studio recording local promos for the various matches they were going to be having all over the country.
I could watch The Brain for hours. Hilarious. What a genius.
The one and only, Bobby the Brain Heenan. A legend! The master on the impromptu promo. "Put that down Link". R.I.P. Mr
Heenan.
I hope Bobby and Gene are having fun on the other side now.
I'm sure they are
Bobby Heenan managed to insult about 40 different people in 30 seconds. I think Gene was laughing about "going down the wrong isle once" referring to his failed marriage.
Bobby Heenan taking shots at local sports teams is priceless.
Brain on the fade-out, “and another thing…”😂
Bobby should have done stand up
Loved these two guys.
Bobby Heenan alive or dead always enjoy his promos. It makes me laugh
'I don't like livestock!' 😂 for some reason that improv kills me 💀🤣
They call it the Cow Palace. It is named for the women that work there.
Doh!
Miss these days. RIP Gene and Bobby.
Heenan was so funny. 1 of the best talkers.
The brain is priceless I can't stop laughing
0:26 Heenan specifically mentioning the venue, it was so neat when they talked about your hometown on these not scripted type promos. I don't watch today's product, but my understanding is everything is scripted for the wrestler to recite, and local house shows promos for the most part are gone.
"Havn't you ever gone up the wrong aisle?"
"....i did once."
That was gold
"Link! Now put that down!" LMAO
"Left out the window the wrong way when you heard the bell ring? uh huh.." haha..This guy was a comedian!
Heenan was pure heat gold.
you folks notice "mean" Gene trying not to crack up laughing at 3 different points in this promo?
"I don't like livestock."
Somewhere David Shultz is looking for a woman
The Palace was named after the Rosati sisters.
gotta love genes face during these interviews!
Heenan pretty much invented ripping on local sports teams. He really was the Brain...
Weasel should talk he wrestled for years at the Chicago amphitheater and it had livestock conventions...If Bobbie were alive I wonder what he would say to that LOL!
Bobby Heenan is a sexy handsome gentleman.
I love him.
Why did wrestling have to die ???

I love Heenan, but he takes a shot at the 49ers, and Raiders, in 1985, and both those franchises ruled the 80's!
Shoot, I forgot the Raiders played in LA at that time
That's the gimmick.........
The best manager of ALL time.....would out wit out smart anybody. Fastest lip going around. "Left out the window the wrong way when you heard the bell ring? ahh huh"...classic Neenan.
Wrestling today is so glitzy but dull.....its the characters that made it work in the 80's not the pyro technics and BS of today.
Just a brilliant team.
As I recall, the Missing Link dominated Putski in the match.
Bobert Da Brian He-Mans
Poor mean Jean had a cold...bobby was the g.o.a.t...brother love and Paul bearer
@619 OG I am going to agree with you...I shouldn't put cm punk on a mic skill pedestal...brother love and Paul bearer and Paul Heyman...who do you think 619? Help me out...
Absolutely...the body was the man...loved his wrestle mania 6 call with guerilla monsoon hulk vs warrior...he is a living underated legend...Vince and Hogan did him dirty
Mumbus27: Rowdy Roddy Piper.B.W.
WEASEL!
LMAO!!!
Lets recap.
Raiders won a Super Bowl in 1983, while in LA, not Oakland.
And the Niners won a Super Bowl in 1984.
One of the few flubs by Heenan.
Not a flub. Heenan's character schtick at work, to "peg" those 2 teams as "mere nothing", since he, as "The Brain from Beverly Hills", was so "above the common man (Ham-n-Eggers)", that he looked down on everyone and everything, and with a witty rib at those 2 competitive teams (a la Don Rickles) that obviously were successful during this period, all wrapped up in an 'off-the-cuff' promo that was sure to drive fans in the Bay Area (and LA) to buy tickets just to boo him. Pure heat generation and comedy gold, at its finest!
Bobby Heenan was very annoying in golden era
🤣🤣🤣🤣ok
