Ladies, Dior has one out for £555...I saw a video on here about a lipstick container by Dior for £555. I think these things are literally aimed at those, who do not know where else to throw around their wealth anymore. Just ridiculous!

I wish I’d seen this a week ago! I’ve never had an Hourglass palette (But I’ve had individual powders over the years). I always resisted the palettes because I don’t need that! I always give myself a cool down period for makeup and then realize I don’t need it 99% of the time! I broke my usual protocol and got the jellyfish in owl packaging on the day of release because THE OWL IS BEAUTIFUL. I used it for the first time yesterday. It’s very nice, but I didn’t look any different than I always look. I already have a lot of nice makeup. This was fine but not life changing. I didn’t need any of this. I just got sucked in 🤦🏻♀️ I would have rather gotten a blush in a shade different from what I already have and get a nice owl print for the same amount of money.
The Barn Owl got me too. I don’t own anything else from Hourglass so hopefully I’ll get some good use out of it. But I’ll be happy just looking at the pretty owl too 🤣
Would love to hear tips on your cooling down period 😊 I try so hard but 80% of the time end up buying. That later I regret $$$But, if I try to resist it haunts me at night haha until it’s bought….. and then stress starts again, because I spent money on it. Sounds like, I am writing to a therapist 😂😂
@@sarahm3240 I feel you! It’s so hard! I have a list on my phone of things I’d like. I tell myself I have to try to use something else like it for a week or two. So let’s say there’s a great red lipstick. I either wind up wearing the red lipsticks I have and realizing I like what I have so I don’t need it…OR…I never once tried to wear red lipstick so I realize I don’t need it because it’s really nothing I’d use a lot. With an eyeshadow palette (or face palette like this) I try to imagine what I’d do with it…then use what I already have to do that for awhile. Usually that has scratched the itch and I take it off my list. Then I also try to remember the times like this where I impulsively bough something and how, even though it’s pretty, it didn’t actually change my life and it wasn’t better than the pretty stuff I already have.

Chanel is very proud of themselves these days! My very favorite perfume used to be 85 per bottle. I would get one at christmas and it would last 2 years. Now it is 165! I buy the dupes. There is a company, Physicians Formula. They have something very similiar to the Chanel stamped pallets. But around 16 USD. So if a person wants some winter pick me up, then maybe give that a try. They have butter pallets that are like silk, and have spf. They don't dry my skin in winter.
When I was about 11, my mom got a beautiful compact of something (eyeliner? Maybe - this was 50 years ago!) and I told her I wanted it when she was done - of course that took about 15 + years- she remembered and asked me if I wanted it still, and we got such a laugh out of it! Heirloom lipsticks - haha haha!

I have one Dior lipstick (a much cheaper one but still expensive and a gift) and it is literally so bad. No staying power, bleeding even with lip liner and so waxy. Can't believe people actually willingly pay that price.

The colors to choose from are way too many reds and metallics. Pure clown show. Their highlighter caked in the compact too much leaving nothing on my brush. Their foundation reeked. Nope, no need for designer makeup. Their brushes rule though and last forever. Also love their Rosy Glow blush, that is a cult product

I’m not sure if I’m the odd person out but I just don’t like the Natasha Denona palette. I love her palettes and actually bought this one because that color story seemed perfect, but it lacks any sort of depth and I have a light skin tone and I ended up with micro glitter all over my face by the end of the day. I returned it
I envy that you have a possibility to try make up first and then return… we don’t have such possibilities. If I open the package already not returnable. So it is always chancing when ordering and then you just end up with makeup product which you don’t like. 😢

I just happened to have a 20% off at Sephora when the I need a nude palette came out. It’s my most used palette. The more mid tone shades with sparkly shimmers with sheer bases are exactly what I’ve been into for a good while now. I talked myself out of the hourglass palette because I just don’t use face palettes. I did talk myself into finally buying the 2 hourglass powder products in singles that I’ve been wanting for a good while now

I have 1 Hourglass palette and I have been using it like crazy so I did go for the Leopard palette in the owl packaging. But this will be it for me- I had been planning to purchase the Mood Exposure blush anyway and it is in the new palette. Success!!

I love este lauder double wear as my everyday foundation !! I have dry/ normal skin but I only use one pump after moisturizer. Super long wearing and no setting needed. However I have no interest in the other foundations they have. They just seem like diluted versions of the original. Which I can do myself with my favorite moisturizer or sunscreen
EL double wear is my holy grail and that section was like blaspheme 😂 I found the rest of the EL section hilarious but double wear is one of the few foundations that suits me since I have rosacea and the colour is the exact colour match.
So I had my heart set on the ABH and ND palettes, the Chanel $210 CAD lipstick, the Hourglass palette in the lightest shade in the owl case, and the Gucci concealer but I'm over them all. You want it in the moment, waiting a week really makes a huge difference. I did however buy 2 Chanel loose shadows (I think I'm the only one who likes them lol), and wear them almost daily, and one of the Chanel Coco Blooms and love it. But I have started waiting a week or two and it makes a huge difference. Thanks Charlotte, these are great videos esp this time of year! I am however still intrigued by the Prada palettes, but they will need to be available at a Canadian store before I will buy one. Not paying for duties and shipping cross border.

Love these videos. I did purchase the Hourglass, Jellyfish palette for my stepdaughter as a graduation gift. Most of what is coming out is an easy pass for me. I think I’ve become jaded with the overdose of newness. It’s getting harder and hard to wow me. Please know how much I appreciate your honesty.😘
I love these so much Charlotte! I hate to be an enabler but I have the Chanel highlighters the coral and the pearl and they are beautiful!! I got them on Bonbon cosmetics which has all the Japanese products I can never get in the US and I’ve ordered several times from them with no problem. You just have to be okay with long shipping times. I love them. The pearl one specifically because it’s really special. It has a glass pearly look on the skin with very small imperceptible sparkle so it is not obvious and also looks stunning on the eyes. I use it almost everyday and the CC logo is still untouched. They are huge by the way. The coral one I wear as a highlighter blush since I’m very fair and it’s gorgeous as well with no sparkle. Hope that helps for those with fomo. I have had them for over a month now and I’m glad I got them. 💗💗

My FOMO usually involves Chanel, Dior and Cle’ de Peau - the super luxurious ones. I need nothing. They are not investments that will compound in value over time.

I just happened to have a 20% off at Sephora when the I need a nude palette came out. It’s my most used palette. The more mid tone shades with sparkly shimmers with sheer bases are exactly what I’ve been into for a good while now.
I talked myself out of the hourglass palette because I just don’t use face palettes. I did talk myself into finally buying the 2 hourglass powder products in singles that I’ve been wanting for a good while now

I have 1 Hourglass palette and I have been using it like crazy so I did go for the Leopard palette in the owl packaging. But this will be it for me- I had been planning to purchase the Mood Exposure blush anyway and it is in the new palette. Success!!

I love este lauder double wear as my everyday foundation !! I have dry/ normal skin but I only use one pump after moisturizer. Super long wearing and no setting needed. However I have no interest in the other foundations they have. They just seem like diluted versions of the original. Which I can do myself with my favorite moisturizer or sunscreen
EL double wear is my holy grail and that section was like blaspheme 😂 I found the rest of the EL section hilarious but double wear is one of the few foundations that suits me since I have rosacea and the colour is the exact colour match.

So I had my heart set on the ABH and ND palettes, the Chanel $210 CAD lipstick, the Hourglass palette in the lightest shade in the owl case, and the Gucci concealer but I'm over them all. You want it in the moment, waiting a week really makes a huge difference. I did however buy 2 Chanel loose shadows (I think I'm the only one who likes them lol), and wear them almost daily, and one of the Chanel Coco Blooms and love it. But I have started waiting a week or two and it makes a huge difference. Thanks Charlotte, these are great videos esp this time of year! I am however still intrigued by the Prada palettes, but they will need to be available at a Canadian store before I will buy one. Not paying for duties and shipping cross border.

I love these so much Charlotte! I hate to be an enabler but I have the Chanel highlighters the coral and the pearl and they are beautiful!! I got them on Bonbon cosmetics which has all the Japanese products I can never get in the US and I’ve ordered several times from them with no problem. You just have to be okay with long shipping times. I love them. The pearl one specifically because it’s really special. It has a glass pearly look on the skin with very small imperceptible sparkle so it is not obvious and also looks stunning on the eyes. I use it almost everyday and the CC logo is still untouched. They are huge by the way. The coral one I wear as a highlighter blush since I’m very fair and it’s gorgeous as well with no sparkle. Hope that helps for those with fomo. I have had them for over a month now and I’m glad I got them. 💗💗

Charlotte, you are hilarious in capturing the way we self talk to convince ourselves we need to buy a luxury beauty product! I purchased a Mothership - Divine Rose VII - and really never used it. My FOMO usually involves Chanel, Dior and Cle’ de Peau - the super luxurious ones. I need nothing. They are not investments that will compound in value over time.

I haven’t purchased any makeup since around the last Hourglass launch and even I couldn’t resist the Hourglass palettes from this year 😂😂 in my defence though, I have used the Tiger palette from last years launch almost every time I’ve done my makeup for both face and eyes. I know I will get use out of my Hourglass palettes 🥰 that’s it, no more palettes for me for another year 😂
