tailscale, which uses wireguard, beats openvpn access server hands down. It's even more cost effective, and has cool features such as peer to peer connectivity, ACLs, SSO, etc.
@@mrpops2ko if you’re all on Linux and bsd, sure. But what about windows, phone, etc? Also who will max their bandwidth constantly. Throughput is not the entire experience.
after all my years in networking I still find the setup of ssl et al on web or other servers mildly confusing... any step by step type help is always a good thing....
I'm running wireguard at home/office/mobile/remote and on my business vps server, more easier to setup then openvpn and throughput is 10 times better then openvpn.
Because wireguard is a static config on a per device basis. What if you want to push some new routes? Are you going to go to every device and manually change their config? Nah. This is more of a business solution. Wireguard does not have any mechanism for user authentication and control. No sure why people suggest wireguard without assessing business IT control requirements.
The offer via the QR Code is amazing! Thanks, Chris!
hope you could do a benchmark between an openvpn access server with DCO and wireguard
Yes! I would like to see more on the SSL certificates!
14:38 can you please do a video on setting up ssl certs?
thank you, but this is a very difficult way. I just installed hide expert vpn and everything works
Is there a way to install OpenVPN using a docker container?
Performance with Wireguard is objectively better. No reason to use openVPN in 2024.

Is there a problem with using letsencrypt in this setup?
no issue at all. there are official guides to use letsencrypt with access server
I can't see any pros in times where we have wireguard
