At 2:33 when you bombed the
tiger ll, the hitmarker means you got a direct hit with the bomb.
This thing needs more ammo.
That's what's keeping it BR3,the low ammo,otherwise it would be a tempest at BR3 in a bomber role,so if it were to see in increase,up in BR it goes
The Ammo capacity limits it severely. The P51D5 is better with its 500 pound bombs. You really should bring in a radioman squad with just 3 guys: a engineer, a medic, and a radioman so you can call in artillery, drop a medkit box, and build a rally before killing em yourself and getting in your plane
The P-51D takes up the fighter slot, so you can’t pull it if your team is already flying a fighter. It’s more fair to compare the Whirlwind to the tech tree BR 3 attacker equivalent, which is the horrible AP-1.

I think the 20mm HE has the same problem that shows up in Warthunder every other patch. The algorithm that calculates the number and direction of small fragmentation will only cause a few low velocity small fragmentation at a time.
Also, I don't see why the hit cam makes bomb fragmentation and cannons look like comically large bullets hitting the tank when all those models and calculations have been in Warthunder forever.
Large, medium, small fragments. Hot, cold, plasmatized, every velocity.
Armour spalling, Armour deformity, Concussion, high pressure blast waves.
All that is calculated at the same time.
Maybe they are having trouble implementing it into enlisted too. Or vehicles stuff is not high on priority.
Honestly I think both games computer calculations are held together by vodka and duct tape.
As far as fighting Japanese planes, I always bring the spitfire in my lineup now. Yes it doesn’t have bombs, but anything not including a zero will be easy prey for it. It even handles ki-84s quite easily.
A lot of Japan players are cocky with planes which makes it quite easy for me to reverse them with a p51

The guns SHRED if you actualy hit something. In one game i got 13 vehicle kills with it (half of them were ai bombers but we are not going to talk about that)
Edit: when i was also playing with the whirlwind today i got that same 75/32 m41 pasta tank guy in my game also in tunesia
Semovente is a great tank at BR1 with its long barrel 75. Can easily take down Shermans and T34s if you know the weak points. Even KV1, but honestly for that one you have to get close and hope the KV1 player is legally blind.
Just do fast runs with it and the ammo will last just fine?
I was planning to compare this to p38 lightining I just got couple days ago, how would you compare flying it to that?
P-38 is miiiiiiiiiles ahead. Can't compare. Really, P-38 is very responsive, this is just a lighter feeling Bf-110..

you can't with side mounted bombs, you would have to drop 2 otherwise you would be fighting the plane to stay level
So the Mosquito holds 600 rounds of 20mm, The Tempest 800,and the Beaufighter has like 1180... compared to this things 240. Damn.
It was a pre-war aircraft, the Mosquito and the Tempest were mid to late war aircraft, built when they found solutions to issues regarding limited ammunition storage and ammunition feeding.

This game really is just utter shit now after the merge. It gives the devs and the publishers an excuse to be lazy, which is clearly demonstrated with the recent additions to the game.
Well done to MajorMcDonalds and all the other muppets that pushed for this merge. 👍🏻👍🏻 Another decent game ruined and down the shitter.
