Seriously, apart from several other characters on stage and on screen, these two are the Most Heartwrenching Characters, ever... Both Carol and Daryl are victims of Abuse... Carol from her husband and Daryl from his father and somewhat from his older brother, as well... Although both their abusers die horribly in the show, Carol and Daryl clearly carry the full weight of the abuse and emotional scars left by it... So much so, that it is difficult for them to like themselves, let alone anyone else... However, somehow these two broken people find each other amongst the death and decay of a Zombies Apocalypse... At first, they merely cling to each other to survive, but as time passes they each help the other heal from all the prior abuse they suffered... Gradually, it becomes more and more evident that they love each other, but due to the years of abuse, neither one can fully understand or reciprocate that love... It's just as Heartwrenching as it gets... :'( This video captures almost every nuance of their complicated relationship... Thank you!!
