    I’ve got 2x sunnyboy SMA units and both have been perfect. One is over 10 years old

      That is good to hear! I have had faultless operation of a 5kw Sunnyboy for 2+ years. It also operates quietly, and I like that there is no fan to break down.

      My sunnyboy is 10 years old now. Had one fault a couple of years ago, the part was replaced easily and quickly.

    Ran an SMA for 13 years until I recently replaced it with Goodwe. Just make sure your installer installs the inverter in a location that is covered.

    I had Growatt for almost 2 years. I had 12x 500w panels and recently just changed my entire setup to Victron Multi RS 48/6000/100 and installed batteries 31kwh totalling $3400 for my setup.

      @@NickWindham Not at all, it was just limited to what I wanted it to do, Growatt is perfect if you just want simple solar but the batteries come at a cost.

    I have 2 Sunnyboy inverters, one now almost 12 years old, the other only 3 years, installed when I had 3 Tesla Powerwalls and 3kw extra panels installed in my offgrid system. Never have had any problems. In my area, no choice of power supplier. They gave 6 cents/kw, sold back at up to 54 cents/kw. Moving into a new house shortly, Tesla and SMA going in again.

    The new Sungrow 3-phase SHT series (15, 20 and 25 kw) has a feature set currently unmatched in Australia. This is a hybrid capable of either grid-tie or full off-grid and it doesn't require AC Coupling to provide direct panel-to-load distribution. It can distribute its DC Coupled power simultaneously between grid export, loads and battery without the inefficiency of DC-AC-DC (battery stored)-AC (conversion back to loads) when drawing from battery in non-solar hours.
    The series supports a

    I've been told a hybrid Fronius Gen24 Plus cannot run a 30,000 BTU aircon on the critical loads during a power cut, due to the compressor startup load, even with batteries. Is that true? Thanks.

    • @markfisher61
      @markfisher61 9 місяців тому

      Could you convert that BTU figure into Australian? How many kW does it draw?

    • @skipmcilvaine
      @skipmcilvaine 9 місяців тому +1

      @@markfisher61 I believe the main issue is the startup wattage which is about 10.5 kW, but then the aircon settles down to use about 2.5 kW.

    • @krossbolt4100
      @krossbolt4100 9 місяців тому

      @@skipmcilvaineYour aircon is the major problem. We replaced a 2000's generation LG 10KW with a DC motor 10KW Daikin inverter. Absolute chalk and cheese. The Daikin pulls, at most 4KW on startup and then runs often less than 1KW.

    Enphase has a hopeless support system in Australia. Stay clear of this mob as you are stuck with them once committed. Not sure about straw in the walls 😮 however with string inverters you have the ability to change brands as you wish

      Gotta say I completely disagree with this. While I would sell solaredge over enphase, for shading and individual panel monitoring, I definitely think enphase has great tech support. I’ve had to call them up 10+ times and always really helpful and knowledgeable.

    Híbridos não são fora da rede,não funciona motores trifasicos,não são projetados para funcionar mais de 20%do tempo sem energia da rede e aumenta a frequência em até 3 hz,se quiser ficar fora da rede e necessário um inversor on grid,um híbrido e inversores de frequência para os motores da minha residência ou se quiser gastar um.pouco mais compre um selectronic SP pro,do contrário até um gerador será necessário nas residências onde a incidência de sol não é tão frequente

    We have installed hundreds and hundreds of Goodwe inverters over the past 10 years and we have never had one fail. Never. All of the other brands have failed with varying degrees of disappointing after-sales support.
    Goodwe still have LC displays on their Gen 3 inverters which can be invaluable when Wi-Fi is not working. Goodwe's after sales is in our experience, the best.

    Mate, Sungrow are garbage inverters and their warranty service, well let’s say I’m still waiting for them to respond after dozens of calls from my installer and myself. Sungrow is a terrible company I will never go with them again. I and many others are putting complaints into the ACCC. Sorry but I won’t be be watching your opinion again, it’s definitely wrong.
