Great tips, and I appreciate your enthusiasm! I've been learning Ukrainian for four or five months now and have been trying to do all these things, and you're absolutely right about how much they help. I'm fortunate that I have a friend who came here (to the US) from Ukraine about 6 or 7 months ago, so we practice each other's language. She's doing great with English, and although I feel like I'm making good progress with Ukrainian, I just cannot make the И sound!

Thank you for your kind words! I am so glad to learn that you have been learning Ukrainian and find these tips useful! И is a tricky one. My husband is non-Ukrainian speaker and this sound is difficult for him as well. It helped him to observe me saying it slowly and continuously to start getting it so don't give up :) Let me know what you are interested in learning
As a macedoian, recently i started learning Russian, i must tell that i love it and later i want to start with Ukrainian too.
It is easier for me to learn slavic languages becaouse we all have some similarities.

I need an online dictionary to get the gender of the nouns, I was lerning wth duolingo and now with lingQ but there is no mention to genders. Not a good idea for a lenguage with so many different cases.Thank you in advance :)
Interesting observation! I went to check several popular online dictionaries and none of them mention the gender!!! I will be on a lookout though
