- How to Make Coax-Jumpers Correct Lengths for Lowest SWR/Reflect..
I'm not saying other jumpers don't work. Showing how to achieve best results...minimum wear and tear on your gear. - Наука та технологія
I just want to say thank you for biting your tongue on the haters and sharing this. I had all kinds of SWR issues. I knew my antenna was electrically correct, I knew my amp and my cb were correct, but with everything hooked up, I would key @ 1.8 and swing out to 4.0-5.0.. turns out my jumpers were the issue all along and this video helped me incredibly. So again friend, thank you for being generous enough to share your knowledge and 73’s brother
Glad this helped you! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this. I have the same analyzer and I wanted to know exactly how to do this. Coax length makes more of a difference than people might think when it comes to higher power and adjusting what your SWR meter tells you. I’ve had radios and amps act plumb crazy because of it.
Glad it helped!
I have a rig expert swr meter I think I can use it like you did. Thanks for the info. I am setting up a base station here in McMinnville TN
Yes Rig Expert should do the trick..
RG400 50 ohm with a Velocity of 69.5 low loss Teflon insulation Trippel shelled, good up to 12.4 GHz At 1GHz it can handle 600 watts. Also on the Ham frequencies it can handle 1,000 Watts and more. a little smaller than RG58. Its used in all kinds of aviation equipment private and military. Highly heat resistance, you can put on your connector with out melting the insulation. One caveat it's a little pricey not to bad though. Amazon no name 40ft about 70ish dollars, it goes for a lot more at other places. I love this stuff, great feed line coax cable and jumpers between equip..
Cool Deal Thanks for Sharing..........
RG-400 has only two braided shields.

I tune mine, let the haters do there own crap. Antenna analyzer is a must for everyone! Dirty Ole Man.
Yes sir thanks for watching..
Good stuff.
$saver...
Thanks for watching....
The coax is critical, length and characteristics. I have a Moonracker GPA-80 that did not do 40 meters. I put a longer coax cable and everything got fixed.
Coax does matter
Do you have a recommendation for coax when it comes to jumpers? The lmr400 is causing problems on my small bench just too difficult to route around the bench.
I run 213. RG 400 might be good for you to run in small places good stuff.
Can you use a nano vna or do you have to use this style
I'm sure you can. I'm not familiar with a VNA.
What about feed line does it work the same
seems like at 100 ft so not as important yes feed line will work
does it matter what wave length antenna is being used? i have a 5/8 wave antenna on my truck n cant seem to keep the same swr reading at end of cable like i do at antenna. i have the same model MFJ n have RG213 double shield 66% velocity. i need atleast 7 ft to make it to the box.
Should not matter what wave ant is.
thx man, awesome vids. keep it coming. 👍@@DonkeyStomperProducts
What's it cost to have a jumper made 2ft long
I don't make jumpers 2ft. There about 6ish range shortest one I make.

For those of us poor peasants that can't afford a $500+ meter is there any way one could use a digital multimeter to "approximate" a similar measurement by measuring impedance, resistance or some such? They should give away an MFJ 269 free with every CB.
I hear that. I think there is some cheaper ones out there not really familiar with them. I think most 213 comes in little over 6ft. If that helps
