Funny thing. This couch gag is how I learned about Rick and Morty. Years later and I've seen all seasons of Rick and Morty several times over and this, as of this date 7/11/24, is the second time I've watched this couch gag.
Fun fact: The Simpsons is near impossible to censor Since the show was not expected to go anywhere, Matt Groening was able to talk the network into a contract with an absolutely unprecedented amount creative freedom (that's how they can make fun of Fox by name even though they air on Fox) and so basically they can put in anything they want into a Simpsons episode and Disney and Fox and any other network that owns it just has to be there.
Checked a few days ago, first Simpson’s episode I watched on Disney+, I’m surprised they kept This in but the symbol on Stans Fez in Gravity Falls was completely removed
I gotta say i loved this collab because this was animated by the simpson’s animators teamed up with some rick and morty animators so this made the animation extremely high quality honestly i would love to see the quality of the simpson’s being implemented into rick and morty
I still love how Morty accepts to go after Rick mentions there’s like a billion characters in the simpsons, Ned is of course the first one to start looking being their neighbour.
lance the dragon master Not at all. Any person who followed The Simpsons since the beginning knows that since S11 the quality plummeted. I tried to keep watching but the episodes became more and more lazily written and I got disillusioned. I keep watching reruns of S1 to S11 because they're awesome but the newer the episodes the more unwatchable they are. Rick and Morty is a far superior show nowadays.
TheFVchannel the family guy/simpsons crossover was shit, why do they get a hour long episode, but Futurama which is a lot funnier only gets half a hour that sucks man.
they didn't do a crossover, they just did an easter egg, the episode where jerry gets left at day care I think it's the blitz and chips episode, when jerry leaves the daycare and wanders to the surrounding alien city you can see the futurama ship flying in the back ground. they might have done a couple more like that but I can't recall it right off the top of my head.
Actually, that’s not a bad idea. The Simpsons are trying to get through the intro sequence, but things keep getting in their way, and the obstacles get more and more over-the-top until the intro takes up the whole episode. Could be an opportunity for some self-aware/meta humor.

This entire couch gag is jam-packed with so much subtlety and hidden jokes! Even after 6 years, I’m still looking back and noticing things I didn’t notice before.
The Simpsons, Rick and Morty and Futurama all in one short scene
I believe they went to 3015 in New New York.
@@lostinthought7349 Also a nod to Matt Groening's Life in Hell comic -- the one-eared bunny Bongo toy in Rick's sack of stash.
Now they Called "THE RICKSONS"
Why just why
No just no
The Sanchezsons
Pac Lenny That would be a better show for sure
No
Imagine the Simpson Ricks having their own Citadel segment lol.
Hey what do u know, they probably do :D
Underrated comment!! I'd love to see Rick Simpsons on the citadel
@@manuelrobledo8072 yeah you would see them i nlike the background lol
Just you wait till Disney buys Adult Swim
Then it won't be sci-fi porn
i had never seen rick and morty before then i watched this couch gag, now i have seen the whole 1st season...
whoops i binge watched again.
RANDOMEVERYTHINGish Ballfondlers??
Last of Brunnen G my favorite.
lol thats exactly what happened to me
I watched couch gag now I'm 7 episodes deep... ITS TWO AM
Brandon Nelson you must continue
Funny thing. This couch gag is how I learned about Rick and Morty. Years later and I've seen all seasons of Rick and Morty several times over and this, as of this date 7/11/24, is the second time I've watched this couch gag.
Exactly me! I had two seasons to watch and long wait for third one 😅
Anyone else realize that rick didn't curse?
He said "oh god"
UltimateVita33 it would be on Disney+ not matter what. They cuss all the time one the Simpson’s
@@zomb124 no they dont
Melonn64 yeah. Most of the episodes. Even in the movie
@@zomb124 wait like the old episodes?
Melonn64 yeah like in Lisa’s wedding
I’m surprised Disney+ kept this gag.
Victor Greenwood yup
More exposure 🤷🏼
Fun fact: The Simpsons is near impossible to censor
Since the show was not expected to go anywhere, Matt Groening was able to talk the network into a contract with an absolutely unprecedented amount creative freedom (that's how they can make fun of Fox by name even though they air on Fox) and so basically they can put in anything they want into a Simpsons episode and Disney and Fox and any other network that owns it just has to be there.
What episode is that
Checked a few days ago, first Simpson’s episode I watched on Disney+, I’m surprised they kept This in but the symbol on Stans Fez in Gravity Falls was completely removed
This is how I was introduced to _Rick and Morty_ .
Ryan Hartwell Same here.
From season 1 ...
For me
Ryan Hartwell same
Me too
I gotta say i loved this collab because this was animated by the simpson’s animators teamed up with some rick and morty animators
so this made the animation extremely high quality
honestly i would love to see the quality of the simpson’s being implemented into rick and morty
i love how rick freezes Flanders right away, he's got the right idea
Best part now Simpsons need to day an episode of Ned bring Frozen by a Spaceman aka Rick and Morty
He knows a Jerry when he sees one
At the risk of this becoming political I would've loved to see the two do a science vs. religion agreement tbh.
Flawless transition from Simpsons art style to R&M. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I bet Flanders was Jerry's favourite and that's why he freeze his a$$.
"Look at the baby one" XD
lol I looked at the rick baby XD
I didn't see Rick when he said that (but I saw -4- 5 when they mutated!)
I wonder if Bart was able to break the fourth wall because he has Rick DNA in him
No. He said something of that nature before meeting Jay Sherman the first time.
actually it was the fifth wall
@@hetnixira2332 what?
@@dave2980 bart broke to fifth wall, not the fourth wall

the new voice actors actually did a pretty good job. props to them, and they'll only get better
No more guest animators, man.
lynKx :P One of the best 4th wall breaks
@@EthanAnania I have a question for you
Watch the video it’s at the end
Bart is pissed!😁
But that's the only thing i love about the show?
I hope Summer got her shit together. :\
And found a decent bag for said shit.
Jessica Vollaha and sold it in a shit store...
Animation Contemplation I hope she got it all together and put it in a bag

I still love how Morty accepts to go after Rick mentions there’s like a billion characters in the simpsons, Ned is of course the first one to start looking being their neighbour.
This couch gag got me into rick and morty. Thanks to the simpsons for beeing so kind!

Well, it's the least they can do to compensate for these horrible last 20 seasons...
Romeo Vásquez hater
lance the dragon master Not at all.
Introducing us to the better show xD
"No more guest animators man"...😤😂💀
that smirk
Morty Smith Oh boy! More killing.
Sparragon1 what the hell 🤣
This is better than the Family Guy crossover.
Agreed.
***** That sucked too
TheFVchannel AND THIS IS A COUCH GAG
TheFVchannel the family guy/simpsons crossover was shit, why do they get a hour long episode, but Futurama which is a lot funnier only gets half a hour that sucks man.
TheFVchannel By a mile! And with a dash of Futurama as well, it was perfect.

pepsi man Gee you really shouldn’t have kids. Ever.
An actual episode for a crossover of futurama and rick and morty would actually be really cool
Sadistic Sorrow They already are btw
Do you have a source for this? I'd love to read more.
Well there is a hint that galaxy he sent morty to just then has a slurm machine right before morty goes in.
they didn't do a crossover, they just did an easter egg, the episode where jerry gets left at day care I think it's the blitz and chips episode, when jerry leaves the daycare and wanders to the surrounding alien city you can see the futurama ship flying in the back ground. they might have done a couple more like that but I can't recall it right off the top of my head.
Someone once posed the idea of Professor Farnsworth meeting Rick.
I said they could have been college roommates.
1:05 futurama in the back
Planet express ship. Good eye.
ya the ship also te slurm drink and the brainslug
There was also a Slurm vending machine infront of the building
lol
A crossover in a crossover. Dear god.
1:51 I love the genuine concern and fear in Flanders’ “who are you?”
I love the Slurm referrence. 1:07
TC Coltharp Did you see the brain slug 1:47?
***** Planet Express ship at 1:04
TC Coltharp Is this a sign?
PenguinsLikePieProductions i saw that
1:36 And the alien on the right, forgotten his name though.
Simpsons couch gag lengths
1990: 10 seconds
1995: 30 seconds
2005: 1 minute
2010: 1 minute 30 seconds
2015: 2 minutes 30 seconds
2020: 5 minutes
2030: 10 minutes
2050: the whole show
When the Simpsons couch gags start to last the entire episode, the show will be good again.
Actually, that’s not a bad idea. The Simpsons are trying to get through the intro sequence, but things keep getting in their way, and the obstacles get more and more over-the-top until the intro takes up the whole episode. Could be an opportunity for some self-aware/meta humor.
The length of the couch gag fluctuates so every episode has the exact same runtime, even if there's less going on in the actual episode.

fk family guy
family guy is too stupid for it's own sake.
family guy is good, but these 3 shows are better. plus it came out around the same time as south park, except south park is better.
I can't believe that this amazing Couch Gag between Rick and Morty & The Simpsons, is nearly a decade old. Time flies by way too fast.
Futurama as well, the planet express ship too.
