I have 100% P&T TIDY, 80% scheduler. I had GERD for years now and it was listed as (Chronic stomach disorder and esophageal condition). The VA determined it was not service-connected. I have a hard time swallowing and continuous acid re flux condition. My C3&C4 were crouched and now self fused and my C5&C6 are also fractured causing my esophagus to narrow. I received 30% for this. I was told not to resubmit because I already have 100% TGIF and I'm 69yrs old. Is this advice correct?
I have service connected migraines 50%and later on in life i developed GERD withall the affects ,and i take medication for it .Can this get me secondary ,personally i feel at 60% ?
Good morning and thank you for this information. I have been having issues since the end of the summer. I would usually take some Tums or pepto when I felt bad or try and wait it out. Unfortunately things got worse. I have burning sensation across my chest and in the abdominal area. Also discomfort at night and I’m taking other medication prescribed by the VA ( Meloxicam and ibuprofen)
If you are already service-connected and your condition has worsened, you could start a claim for an increase. But make sure you meet the criteria for a higher rating.
Seen in ER, offices appts had barium flip over test stomach not moving up or down It comes and goes is it GERD. Could barely tolerate water, excruciating. This going to come back and get me some day. Can you analyze records and write a letter or DBQ. Exposure to all petroleum chemicals, Superfund site welding and cutting ZINC (galvanized) and radiation.
Please fill out the consultation form available at www.literalmed.com. The consult is free and we can continue sharing information about your case privately.
If you’re a veteran looking for good medical support for your nexus letter or IMO Dr. Santiago is one of the best! Very fair and accessible compared to others that charge several hundred or even thousands- and she’s worked at the VA and knows the ropes ;-)

You can claim all the conditions you understand are service-connected or that you think deserve a higher rating.

Could be possible, all depends on all the evidence that you have in your records.
