    I was dreading the brick part of a oven building process and your video came in right on time. Great result and the size is perfect for full range of cooking.

    You mentioned tile for the cooking surface. Are they just thinner firebricks? Never seen that before. Great video!

    • @talldarkandhandyandy5493
      @talldarkandhandyandy5493  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, they are from the same supplier, about a 40 or 50mm thick square refractory brick or tile as they really look. Thanks for the comment.

      Hi Angus. Thanks! The refractory mix was from the company in Sydney that I mentioned in the video. Fieldfurnace.com.au they supply bags ready mixed. Very little water needs to be added. Quite a dry mix. Cheers

      Thanks for the reply. How many bags did you go through for your dome? The pre-mixed castable refractory bags I've come across are not cheap. Did your pre-mix refractory contain perlite?
      A diy recipe I've come across is -
      1.5 parts Portland cement + 2 parts Perlite + 2 parts silica sand + 2 parts fire clay + stainless steel needles.

    How or did you remove the polystyrene from inside the pizza oven? Did the bricks and sand stay put when you did?

    • @talldarkandhandyandy5493
      @talldarkandhandyandy5493  2 роки тому

      Removing the polystyrene boxes was quite simple, just breaking small bits at a time and then the sand and bick all fell in slowly and i removed them bit by bit then swept out all the sand with a small dustpan broom...

      @@talldarkandhandyandy5493 Nope. The interior structure is brick! The exterior is finished with stone sure.. But that's not at all the same as a "not brick" oven when it still is depending on bricks. Decent video, the title is just not as advertised
