Yet another totally awesome fishing video Graeme your a legend my friend you've inspired so many anglers with your back to basics fishing methods ...well done Graeme your the best
Nice to see you come down the southwest and lovely Taunton Town. Great place to live and wonderful places to fish 🐟 hope you enjoyed yourself Graham. Lovely to see great fish and you smiling and making us all laugh loads keep the great videos coming. And look forward to your next adventure 😀.
Brilliant and what a great new place,I've watched u for years and for people like me who can,t go fishing people like u and your son really help,u don,t know how much,I really do thank u,take care....
I was dying laughing mate the way the fish just pissed off down the bank after too perfect way to end a nightshift bottle of nice strong 5% ale and t.a vid :D
It happens....I guess I was a bit tired ,but I was just cussing out myself and the event. I can see I will have to proof watch them through, but at least its honest.
Tell you what Graham, that stretch is a blast on a fly rod, nice nymph under a dry or indicator is great sport, streamer will get you perch and pike and chub as well. Interestingly there are Grayling also, just got to go when its quiet it can get mega busy which isnt so good for a flyline but still doable, i love it there.
Living the dream, Graham! A beautiful English (certainly NOT British!!!) summer's day, chub in abundance, life..... she is good! 🤍 Thank you for sharing and making tonights backache induced insomnia most enjoyable!
Brother, you had one incredible session!! Reminds me of the one I had a few nights ago with my sons (ages 15 and 21) at a local lake. started out with my 15 yr old hooking a 2.5lb small mouth bass on a nightcrawler under a bobber, and from there, we were banging 'em for the rest of the session. Between the 3 of us, we landed 26 of those small mouthed beauties. My 15 yr old using a crawler under a bobber, my 21 ye old son using an assortment of lures and soft plastics, and me using a single hooked drop shot rig. It's sessions like this that make lasting memories!! See you in the next one!!
Urban fishing at it's best. Graeme another fantastic video, a great setting and excellent chub fishing. (You don't need monsters to have a great day)! Old fashioned tactics worked again as they did in the mixed species lake video. When I drive through Somerset to Devon/Cornwall I can only glance at the rivers/drains that run under the motorway but some of the features make me think I should pull off the motorway and do some exploring. Well garden awaits me, this year I've never seen so many weeds or the fact they grow so quickly and if you don't get them out sharply there will be problems later on. Thanks for posting a nice relaxing start to a back breaking day.
Wow what a killer session grahem loved this 1. I'm for some chib on Sunday n was wondering what approach to take. Think iv made up my mind after watch this.
Can't beat float fishing with bread for chub! Its my favourite way to catch them, seems to be more effective than all the other methods of fishing for chub
@@DumbMetalHead7 thanks mate, iv never caught a chub before n never gone trotting on the river before either so any tips n advice are very welcome, I could do with some confidence going in.
Graeme I would dearly love to spend a night fishing with you for carp.sadly I've no tackle anymore I sold it when times we're hard ,just to be there would be totally awesome to watch and listen to your stories and tips would be top of my bucket list. All your videos are amazing Graeme,I'm 60yrs old so I've a lot to learn.
As a kid in the 1960s-70s, I was jealous of Graeme because he was always (it seemed) writing magazine articles about big game fishing in the Gulf Of Mexico or some other exotic place. I enjoyed his work then, and nothing has changed. Thank you Graeme
If ever you have the opportunity to come to the north of Finland, you will enjoy ice fishing. There is two ways, one with a rod and the other is with a net. You can walk on the frozen lake, dig a hole through the ice and start fishing. Sometimes you catch absolutely nothing, sometimes multiple fish. The fish is amazing in taste !
@@tdf2972 Graeme (the guy in the video) loves fishing, I currently live in the north of Finland and I did some ice fishing last winter. Have you ever seen the video's of Graeme with Mike as they are building in the woods? I highly recommend it (TA outdoors).
I know the area you're fishing there Mr P and yes as you found out it's teaming with chub but around the bridge at night or at dusk there's some huge eels I've had monster's over 5lb on lobworm and roach head baits if you wanted to try something different next time
This is a video where a true angler isn't fishing a silly dumb carp commercial pond. .... and where 1 pound of fish caught equals 10 pounds of fish caught in a silly carp farmers puddle 😨 ..... rock on Grahame aka Mr Crabtree!! I'm an ex quite successful match angler who's possibly older than him... Ivan Marks would be smiling & taking his cap off too 😉 ❤
Cheers Graeme. Nice river that. Line around the back of a fixed spool reel is horrible. Do any of you suffer that impossible situation where the line peels off in both directions???? You have to strip off like 30 yards off line to try and fix it.
Don't worry,I get the same problems that many others get. I currently have one reel which seems to spew yards of line off the end of the spool when the weight of the single handle reverses it on the rod rest.

And that decades ago they used to get in and scythe the weed away. I mean if rivers have been around for centuries then why would this only be happening now? When I was a kid living in Chicago, Smoked Chub was a delicacy on Christmas. As I remember they look exactly the same. Fantastic table fare.
I'd be surprised if they are the same species - Izaak Walton described eating Chub as like eating cotton wool full of pins or something like that .
