    It depends on the context where it was used. If it was just a favour, of course, it's okay to react normally and not be offended but if such a phrase like "make me a sandwich" or so appeared when the man intended to insult you - it can easily be offensive. Indeed, it's always up to the person to be offended or not, to let people hurt you or not.

      Exactly, don’t disrespect someone’s traditional role which is something someone would respect. Especially nowadays.

    What you don't inderstand is he said it as a trope. And he said it from a male perspective which are rarely aligned with the perspectives of women. I don't understand why you're upset, why you took it so seriously and why you allow ignorance to 'bug' you.

    the fak? why is doing dishes or anything related a role thing??
    never had a caring mother so I've been doing my own things since my early teenage years and I'm 101% ok with it.. and it's not a role thing it's called grow the fk up and do adult things
