The best review of this piano so far. This P-515 sounds lovely!
I wish this video was 10 hours long, because that's the amount of time I could listen to this guy play and be COMPLETELY ENTRANCED
Hey guys. I just got the p515 today and had a few hours with. I was deciding between 3 pianos. Roland fp90-p515-kawai es8.
I played all three of them in a music store. I went there for a full week and kept playing them, so I have a few hours on each of these instruments. Let me share with you my experience, maybe it will help you to decide.
So for me I was looking for a great piano sound mainly. I have to say the fp90 didnt deliver in the piano sound. To me it felt “muffeled” especially in the mid section of the piano. The bass was there, the treble sounded good, but the mids were kind of dull (and yes I played with the onboare eq sliders, still didnt sound right for me)
The Kawai had a fantastic piano sound, a little bit better then the CFX on the p515. Not by much and for a less experienced player the difference isnt much noticable. Es8 has a beautifull expressive acoustic piano.
The p515 has a wonderfull piano sound as well, responsive and it cuts really good. I loved playing both of these instruments.
Key action: Its on par acroos all three pianos. Just depends what you prefer. The Kawai having the lightest action of these three - for me the best action of all three, really really responsive. The fp90 has a great action as well and the p515 a fabolous action as well, being the heaviest of the three, but has the best feel of those three for me personaly, since its all wood.
So obviously I didnt like the fp-90 piano sound. So why did I almost end up buying it? Well, All the other feauters of the fp-90 are great. It has hundreds of sounds, lovely el.piano (the best of the three), has onboard eq, mic input, two volume sliders for controling the layer or split volume (on the p515 you have to go through menus to access that), you can connet to an app via bluetooth, or stream music via bluetooth (p515 can do this as well, but has to connect via cable for the app to work). So these were the advantages the fp90 has over the others.......but still the piano sound just wasnt right to me. So I just decided not to buy it.
So the kawai es8 vs p515. If you mainly want an acoustic piano sound and great action, go for the es8- it really is little better. Why didnt I buy it then? Because it has only a handfull of sounds (if Im spending that much money I actually want a more versitale instrument) and also just the lack of bluetooth and lack of other sounds.
So the p515.....absolutely love it!! The piano sounds are amazing, has over 500sounds(although many, many of them are not good, and are just fillers like the synth leads, el.pianos in the xg soundset)the main sounds of the piano are all top notch quality though. the keys are wonderfull, looks really nice. Has a 16 track sequencer!! So it sounds great and is feature rich.
Interesting take! Great job on your investigation.
🤘🏼
@@bettermusic UPDATE: I went back to the store to buy a pair of good headphones. I tried them with the fp-90 and HEY! The roland has a piano designer function...So turns out, you can tweak the piano and so I did, and the result was absolutely fantastic. So I take back my statement about the fp-90 acoustic piano sound. It sounds great when you tweak it to your liking. So overall I am happy with my p-515, but if I knew about the piano designer feature earlier, I would have bought the roland
ahojahojish hey so I am a casual piano player and love to sing along...soo the fp90 is the way to go for me I guess
Hey man, I only just noticed your comment. Congratulations with your Yamaha, although while reading your comment I thought you have ended up with the ES8. What a change in your preference. Liking es8 the most in the beginning , buying the Yamaha and desiring the Roland FP90 at the end 😂
I don't want all the fancy "sounds." It's seems to me since I'm sticking with classical music Kawai might be the one to chose. Although, how "heavy" are the keys on this Yamaha and how responsive is it?
Rudi, not only is your demo outstanding, but the quality of your video production is just superb! What a pleasure to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I could listen to the intro for 10 hours, especially on the P515!!
I’ve had the P515 for a couple of months and I love it,the piano samples in particular are superb and I love the versatility of being able to use it for my work either as a solo pianist at venues including functions and special events,or in various bands playing all styles including pop, rock, jazz, funk, and also for shows in orchestras for theatres. It really is an awesome instrument 🙂🎹👍
Excellent review and demo!!! 👏👏👏This one tops it all for me.... I was fortunate enough to be able to play it at a music store in Vegas and they were so kind enough to let me sample it and boy, I fell in love in an instant! The feel of the wood, ivory-like weighted keys, graded hammer action, the sound, the reverb mode, dual-split action, the over-all look and design, everything checks all the boxes for me. There was nothing of this model on a display and they unboxed one for me and I played for an hour or so with some of my fave classical piano pieces and I was so happy and delighted by the sound of this keyboard I lost track of the time. So, I brought my other musician friend the next day and he too fell in love with it! I mean, who wouldn’t be? It’s like the “real” thing!!! Love the CFX and Borsendorfer piano sounds too among many other great sounding intruments that come with it. So many great features in a package!!! It’s pricey?.... yes, but it’s something that will last me a long time, that’s for sure.... this is my gift to my self this Christmas!Goodluck on those considering buying it. Hope this helps 👌🏻😊
I was impressed by your Piano playing, but then you did the electric and bass split and was blown away! "A bit of fun" so casual...
Practice 5-6 hours a day for 5 years and you can do the same :)
Or 3 hours for 10 years ;)

@@abz124816 try 40 hours a week for 20 years...
Your demo is excellence, and the background of the room look very vintage. Love them all
Just bought this today...! My 4y old daughter has been "jamming" on it since i set it up...hope it doesnt break after 2 weeks....wish me luck!
Just got mines for christmas. This video convinced me after much research
I definitely am.
I don't play the piano, but damn, listening to you just jam out on each setting makes me really wish I could just play without going through the years of practice.
It is my complete opinion that when it comes to demos I've seen throughout the years in YT, this awesome guy plays the most exciting music on the fly, combining all sorts of tones most demo guys lack, no looping over and over the same pattern which I hate, it turns me off, and most demo guys play good but they play all of that gibberish chords that make no musical sense, Rudi on the other hand and on the complete opposite side of the musical spectrum, comes up with these delightful melodies that make any piano sound brilliant and full of life. Not only is he a great demo guy but he plays as I wish I could play some day, with gusto, passion and total delight. When I hear him play, it makes me want to buy anything he's selling and gives me that special notch to keep me excited about playing music. I love your melodies but I would like to see next time, as I have been suggesting to other demo guys and who up to today, have not listened to any of my suggestions and keep playing the same gibberish, jazzy, looping and boring stuff and as soon as a new product is being demo, as soon as they start playing, I simply move to another video hoping to hear something else, which in turn, misses the opportunity of presenting the product successfully. You demo guys need to understand that it is not only about what the instrument can do, but if it doesn't "make music", even if it throws fireworks as it plays, IT DOESN'T INTEREST ANYONE. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? IT IS ABOUT THE MUSIC!!! You've got to not only play songs that are popular, yes, actual songs like Elton John, Sting songs, Old popular R&B, etc... and show us in one video how to make a complete song from drums and bass to melody and winds, But we want to hear the music that we all love, not your gibberish chords and runs, that makes sense ONLY TO YOU, NOT US! To hear the next demo guy do some short runs of all types of popular and liked music and then show us how to bring a COMPLETE SONG TO LIFE on that new keyboard, Well... That would be something special to watch and hear and make us want to do the same. Isn't that the reason everyone buys a piano? Real Songs!!! Thanks Rudi!
Rudi is awesome, thanks for the positive feedback!
I am loving this model. Hopefully, ill buy this yamaha model next year for our church.
Great review! Wooden keys, Bosendorfer and SmartPianist, so this is basically a portable version of CLP645/CSP150. Now i know what I'll get for Christmas this year.
And, unlike the CLP-645, this P-515 board has a built-in audio interface (17:58). No one competitor in this price category has this feature (no Kawai ES8, no Roland FP90, no Casios PX etc.).
spot on :-)
I bought it! After much research on Yamaha, Kawai, Roland and Casio in this price point, it was the best choice for me. Still awaiting delivery.
JDSoftware55 is it good?
RightBacklinks I’ll let ya know when it gets delivered!
Getting mine finally on November 12th, can’t wait much longer!
Simon Spratley so?? :D
Beside the good piano... it's incredible how you can play exact the perfect tune or song for the different sounds on this.
It's like they put a little expert for every instrument like organ, base, strings and so on into you!
You switch for this faster than spotify - wow!
I bought a portable Clavinova back in the 90's (pf P-100, which I think is the ONLY portable Clavinova they ever made), and to this day I've not heard a single digital piano or soft synth that compares to its sound quality. On stage, I get people complimenting the sound ALL the time - every single time I'm out playing.
So if this thing has real Clavinova sound in a portable package, GET ONE if you plan to play on stage. I can say from my own personal experience that no other manufacturer has a better, more authentic piano experience than what you'd get with this.
Vanessa P I like the sounds and the action must be great. I just olso like the uprights in the cp 88 but it has a action other than the clavinova s. Difficult to buy 1 from the 2 options
Man!!! You got skills! I would love to be able to play like you!
Thank you for this interview. I’m sold! Have been calling around and there’s a month or 2 before it’ll be in stock.
Jeez, this guy can play like nobody's business.
I was his piano teacher for many years. He came to me as a beginner. He has improved so much.
@@markchavez738 Really? And he started as an Adult? So there is hope (for me) :-)
That's a lie.He said his mother was a piano teacher and thought him as a kid.He also played for a church and a jazz band in Australia for 15 years. Mark chaves lied
@@markchavez738 Yeah nah, m8.
@@markchavez738 *Some Christian you are for needlessly lying on UA-cam.*
Amazing! I was looking at the DGX660 and P255.... I think this is it. My wife's giving up her Heintzman Upright Grand.
I actually went to a store today and was absolutely convinced I would leave with a Kawai ES8.
On UA-cam the ES8 sounded so much better. In the store it did not and the key action and the keys of the P-515 felt so much better. I was so disappointed that I did not like the ES8 that much as I thought I would, but now I am incredibly happy I bought the P- 515. For the people considering buying a digital piano: really try before you buy!
Simon hey man. I was thinking about the kawai as well. The acoustic piano sound is the most important to me. Does the yamaha acoustic piano sound better?
@@ahojahojish Hi personally I liked the sound of the P-515 more than the sound of Kawai. Please go to a store and try them out. Only then you will find out what you preference is. An acquaintance of mine for instance, bought the Roland Fp 90, but I already dismissed this option after 10 seconds.
@@pianoplayer1977 how did the es8 speakers compare to p515? I sometimes feel the p515 speakers are not crisp as it can be,
Hi, pfff, it was a while ago. Honestly I don't remember anymore, but I don't remember any significant difference.
Hi Simon, and which key action did you prefer between: Kawai ES8, Yamaha P515 and Roland FP90?. Thanks!...
A bit of a feedback. I noticed most product reviews do not use classical music to demo piano sounds. And a lot of people learn to play and continue to learn classical music. So is my observation correct in that Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Gershwin, and Rachmaninov painted classical music into a corner so to speak, and this is where we are now; playing piano for fun and enjoyment, leaving frustration at the corner of the room.
Great review! So nice to hear the Australian accent and down to earth attitude. I’m picking my P515 up tomorrow.😉
Looks like the Casio GP500 was a real WAKE-UP call to the Big Name Players in the game to up their anti. Nice to see the functionality arriving in a stage piano.
Thank you for this thorough presentation it’s a blessing. God bless you.
Nice job Rudi, sounds great - congrats for finally recording a digital piano in stereo! ;)
Was going to order the P-125, but I'll take this one now 😊
P515 is twice the price of the p125 though...i can't afford this one:(
@@cirilloz I am in the same situation 😔
Me also! I own a P125, I wish I could afford a P515.. Ugh.
Just the kind of review I was looking for! Very thorough and almost as good as playing around with it myself. Thank you!!
This must an amazing stage piano, sounds are quite impressive in through such a video simple recording,,, 👍👍👍
Thanks Rudy again for yet another fantastic video now I’m saving up for this piano now
Good choice!
Thanks for this demonstration, I Must to buy this piano today... I’m like à kid...
So as me
I waiting for delivery of one TODAY!!!!
Lovely playing and demonstration. Thank you.
Thank you for a great review Rudi
what a great demo and sounds sooo beautifull ! coming from a old skool P90 and really thinking to upgrade to 515
What a beautiful incredible demo wow!
Wow - I bought allready one in Austria- your playing is amazing !!
Why P515 is more expensive than DGX670?
Is it a serious question? There is no comparison between NWX and GHS actions. There is literally no wooden key action in a digital piano (if we forget Fatar TP/400WOOD and TP/40WOOD) below $2000
Thank you Rudi. Excellent presentation. Makes one want to buy this piano!
Just purchased one. beautiful keyboard
I am not a retailer nor work for Yamaha or any other brand. I have tried and owned other DPs in this category. The P 515 is the best. Bad reviews are from people who do not know how to adjust the voice settings. I mostly use it's Classical / Bosendorf mode. The factory setting does not do justice to it. Use the function button to crank the volume to it's max 127, brightness up to your taste and (light 2) touch sensitivity from preset 64, I am using 76. This will already turn the sound from water to wine. Every adjustment done under "function" will be memorized after turning the piano off, but you have to enable this capability. See page 105 from the manual. Under the "piano room" button some settings are also memorized. I also set my Eq with -5 bass, +6 mid, +4 treble. If you don't like this DP, you will not like any other.
dekzan Yes. Bosendorfer rules. But the CFX sample sucks. Too bright and tinny - with some out of tune notes at the top.
@@brickmissing8295 All is adjustable under "function" and it memorizes settings.
@@brickmissing8295 Try volume at level 127 adding "Key Off" , body and string resonance to 7 to it, mid at 6 brightness at 3. All settings adjustable under piano room and function
You make it look easy but I know it's not, talented man
Does the action really feel different/better than the P125, being that both have weighted and graded keys to replicate the feeling of an acoustic piano? I'm thinking the wooden keys on the P515 are just a selling point, with no real difference in play. Furthermore, being that this model is significantly more expensive, I think the P125 is a better choice. Any opinions?
Thanks for uploading, I will probably purchase this Digital Piano, as it seems to be the best in this price category.
Id like to mention that, Binaural Sampling is when you with play headphones and only functions with the CFX Grand. The speakers are a total of 20W which consist of (15+5)W speakers.
Is P515 better than yamaha CP4?
didnt play on either yet, however the cp4 is from nov 2013
it also depends on your needs, cp4 is more stage p515 is more home i would say
Thank you! I am waiting for a comparison.
Thanks you so much for this video! ☺️
P515 vs cp88, about cfx samples, which one better? Pls opinion
I have an FP-90 that I've had for over a year now. I was very hopeful at first, however I don't think I can live with the piano sound any longer. It has fantstic touch and control, but although it's excellent in the bass, it's just ok in the mid-range, and unacceptable in the treble. If the mid-range and treble were as realistic as the bass is I'd be ecstatic. I thought adding external speakers would help and I've got a pair of Klipsch speakers and subwoofer that are very good and helped, but not enough. I'm looking to get rid of it and hope something like the p-515 will be better, but haven't heard it yet (hearing online demos does absolutely nothing for you to judge how any of this digital pianos are going to sound when you actually play them!).
I had the same issue as you with the FP90. I purchased the Yamaha p255 after a year and it was the best decision I ever made. Sure, the Yamaha has its limits but that sampling is far superior. Its sound over control first and foremost for me. I gig with the p255 and it's actually beautiful in a crowd. The p515 is surely even better and I'm pondering on upgrading to it only my p255 is already excellent. I use Garritan CFX for recording and the onboard sounds of the P255 for pleasure and gigging. No brainer to switch if you ask me. The FP90 tries hard but I found myself obsessing with messing with the sounds and the Roland app to get that juicy, crisp grand piano and Yamaha was the solution. That's also after being disappointed with Kawai and Kord previously.
Just returned the FP-90 yesterday for the same reason. Had it for about a week and a half. Going back to the 515 which has a better piano sound in my opinion. The fp-90 piano sounded to muffled but it does have a lot of other sounds tho.
Get a VST man! It will be the best invest ever for your piano.
Bengie g I’ve tried out Pianoteq using a reasonably powerful computer, spent hours tweaking it as recommended, and found the latency between key press and sound to be too long for serious playing. I thought it might be a good solution, but alas, not so. Still open to suggestions. Thanks
@@paulfaganpianist Yeh I've been toying with buying a P255 for a while and now the P515 - already own a CP4. Here' are my thoughts:
CP4 - great gigging piano in a band situation, but not so great for solo/duo/trio work. Why - the lack of string resonance on the CP4 makes it sound too dry / artifical. You can get the notes but can't really stroke the sound (metaphorically). OK nothing compares with a real piano but...
So I read the specs of the CP88 with interest -- and guess what NO STRING RESONANCE. Otherwise I would have probably upgraded. What I love about the CP4. 1. It's weight :) 2) The one touch compression button (great for getting solos to cut through in a band situation), and 3) the hands on 5 band graphic EQ -- you would be surprised at how often I tweak that a little during gigs - and the sound during soundcheck is never the same as when a room fills. And I don't want to be diving into menus!!! That said I shall probably go at the CP88 -- since there is more analogue control over stuff (wurly tremolo depth etc).
So I went to try other Digitals to overcome the lack of string resonance on the CP4. Ended up with a Kawai ES8. Nice piano -- the 'faux' escapement action is not as good as some people say - there's a slightly unnatural bounce to it - certainly not as good as the top of the range Kawai action (which is superb). BUT -- and I only discover this after about 2 weeks -- Kawai for some unknown reason decide that the master volume slider will not control the levels on the line-out jack -- so that pretty much stops it being a gigging piano in anything other than a solo / duo setting. OK real pianos don't have a slider volume control - lol - but they have about 500% more dynamic range than a digital. So the ES8 has rarely seen service in gigs. It is also a tad heavy 22kg. Oh by the way I have tried amping it via the headphone socket (which does respond to the vol slider but clearly has mismatched impedance -- it doesn't sound great but it does work).
So the P255 -- well I nearly bought instead of the ES8 -- but the string resonance was not as good - I preferred the ES8 sound. But it had nice features for live work 3 band graphic (prob OK - the 5 band on the CP4 is fantastic!!), and a sound focus button etc. Also it only had a 2sensor keyboard vs the Kawai triple sensor. So I was hoping for great things from the 515, which I'd be looking at for a small combo keyboard, but.
1. Weight -- back to 22kg from 17kg (the P255 is 17kg and the CP4) -- OK with a wheeled case I could just about live with this.
2. Stupid Yamaha -- 1 the sound focus button and EQ requires access to menus -- and 2 key depresses -- so not that great for live work where dedicated sliders / buttons are really useful. In fact the Kawai doesn't have these and it is a pain to get the EQ set up right before a gig.
That said I'm sure the 515 is a great piano -- but I'm currently toying with a P255 (if I can still get one). I will sell the ES8 then as the lack of line-out control renders it near useless in a live situation.
also, yes, beautifully played demo
Beautifully played. Nice to hear the 'aussie' sound too hehe. Definitely prodigy level !
Can you set the volumes of the two layers independently without using the Smart Pianist App ? And can you store and callup your favorite performance settings again on board without having to use the app ?
Thanks !!!!!!
You have so many speakers on the shelf but the sound on the P515 is coming from its own onboard speakers? Also, I noted that the piano rocks when you play hard. Perhaps if you had a stable stand it won't do that.
Dude..your talent is so scary!!
Is the P-515 action identical to the CP-88 action? If not, which one is superior?
P515 has an excapement mechanism
CP 88 does not (but still wooden keys)
@@anthuaizaba3100 Ok thanks!, and which is better between: Kawai ES8, Roland FP90 and this Yamaha P515?...
Was this recorded using a microphone or line-out? Would appreciate the info! Also Kawai just came out with its ES920 which will compete with this P515.
this is without doubt the greatest video demo of any instrument in the history of the world. I do however have an issue with the pronunciation of Bosendorfer. also what stool are you using? I really like your stool.
The pronounciation is not bad!
It's Bösendorfer, the ö is pronounced like the u in "fur", but longer.
This guy can PLAY!!!
What is the name of the song you play in the very beginning before you start talking?
Great presentation cheers
You, sir, are a musical artist. I can buy the piano, but I can't play it.
But you can practice! Just do that for 20-30 minutes a day and you'll get there.
3yrs old same tech. I want the heavy Yamaha p515 action and rugged body with the Kawai ES920 Onkio amps and speakers. Oh well. 🤷♂️ PS Kawai ES920 totally out classes it's old ES8 watch Stu Harrison from Marriam channel's comparison.
Me like. I think this could be my next piano. BTW your cameraman has been reported to UA-cam for gross abuse of the "no eye contact while speaking" camera angle technique! :D:D
View mostly to enjoy you playing :)
That really sounds awesome!
Very impressive. Sound is great
So what am I suppose to do if I get such an error on Smart pianist when trying to connect it exactly like you to the piano (from exactly like your iPad): "Warning. Failed to connect to instrument.Connecto to the instrument after ending operations on instrument such as Song playback or recording." There is NOTHING going on on my iPad except the smart pianist. I even turned on Airplane mode... Any idea what gives?
How does this go up against the p255?
P255 uses cf3 sample, p515 uses cfx samples. Cfx is better
12:56 what song is he playing.... I have heard him playing it multiple times
Edit: thank you in advance
I think its something he's carried through the years, I've noticed that too.... It might be something he wrote or something special to him
The free IOS synth “Synth one” works transparently with this piano as well. Just plug in and play....
Because of the way Yamaha built it you can actually use softsynths through the USB. We spent ages messing around with things like Garage Band from an iPad. So aside from being an awesome piano on its own, it can also be a pretty dang good controller keyboard too. Cheers - Murdoch
Crazy amazing demo! Your playing is exquisite!
If I was using this with Bluetooth and the smart pianist app on my iPhone, do I need a special adapter?
Who started dancing when the clav came on?
You play amazing!
Stupid question but how the sound compare to a steinway grand piano? Obviously the grand piano is better but would the p515 be like 70% or 80% as good or something like that?
How is the action on this? Is it heavy like the P-155? If so I won't be buying. I hope it isn't. Because it looks like a great piano. But if so I will be buying a Roland. I've been looking for an RD-1000.
Frank Castiglio I bought a Roland RD-1000. So it doesn't make any difference now. Thanks anyway.
Bummer
It’s 22 kg so it can’t be carried individually ... you’ll need a gigging case with wheels if you’re planning to gig with it a lot, pretty similar to ES8 😊
rachel starritt I played it at a local music store. It's a nice piano. But I still prefer the Roland RD-1000. I just love the RD-1000. More than most pianos actually. Thanks for the specs tho!
The NWX is quite a light action - I tried it on the equivalent CLP645 - but feels good. I'm actually not sure if it's better than the CP4 which I used to own, but it must be fairly close. Good to hear the speakers are effective. I got tired of having the CP4 linked to monitors on stands - in the end the footprint of that is not far from having a console piano so defeats the object of having a slab.
Regarding the myth that stage/portable digital pianos occupy less footprint than console versions, and regarding a bunch of other inconveniences of stage/portable versions, one person made a great post here:

Hi, which key action is more confortable, reliable and which feels more balanced and better playing near at the fulcrum between this P515 and Roland FP90?... Thanks!.
Is that a song you’re playing at 12:35 or just noodling around?
I want to know too.
I realize they are very different but in terms of how they feel, this or the Roland 501. I am between these 2 and Yamaha 660 but leaning to this or the Roland. any thoughts?
Does this have smooth transitions, for example holding a chord with the sustain pedal while switching to another sound? Read somewhere that FP90 can't do that.
It does.
I think that's where the polyphony comes into effect, i.e. no one plays 256 notes at once(!) but this is important for sustain
Great Review! Thanks! I have a question on the organ. How does one control the volume when playing the organ voice? With piano, the touch controls the volume. But, with an organ, one traditionally has a swell pedal. I suspect one does not control the volume while playing other than turning the volume knob up and down. A swell pedal would be a nice accessory.
So very confusing at the end .need info on where to go to get info about the app .when are in the country we rely on internet info. Great music .thank you .
Awesome review Rudy question for you when your plug in the garage band into the Yamaha does that mean you can play the Yamaha keyboard but access all the different voices that are in GarageBand and play them through your keyboard or is it just playing garage band voices as you tap the screen on the iPad
Hi Rudi, just a quick question - I assume the USB midi interface also provides power to keep an iPad charged up when it's in use, are you able to confirm whether this is the case? And really great review thanks Rudi, after seeing your review/demo this looks like the instrument I will buy. Have been considering other digital pianos for a while and there was always one or two little things that were compromises, but this looks perfect for me. Can't wait until it's available in the real world. Thanks!
FYI the USB host port on the back of the P515 does NOT charge your ipad (probably because the USB standard calls for the host (in this case the ipad) to provide power to the downstream device). However, it's still a pretty cool feature: when connected to the ipad via USB the P515 sends midi data to the iPad allowing you to play all the garage band instruments via the p515 *and* the ipad sends digital audio back to the p515 so all ipad sounds play via the p515's speakers with zero delay (unlike bluetooth). All just works by default without changing any settings. However, you can use the P515 function menu to customise the MIDI send and receive channels and also turn local control on/off if you want to shut off local sounds and only hear the iPad garage band sounds. Pretty cool.
Can someone please indicate the name of the demo song that the P-515 piano plays in the CFX-Grand section?
Rudy. Rudy. Rudy. Rudy rocks
Is anybody here having some issues with dynamics? I mean, if I set "normal touch" I can't get to play pianissimo, whereas if I set "hard 1" it's close to impossible to hit volume 127. Anybody, please?
could you do more videos of your playing please ! Lg from Austria .
How do I access the solo instruments? SI there a harp? Love the classical guitar sound, strings and choir.
How is it possible that they sell this piano without the FC3a pedal. Be aware that if you buy a P-515 you won't have the half pedaling option, it comes with the FC4a (just Switch On/off). :(
Between this and the Roland FP 90, which one would you say have the most natural and realistic acoustic piano sound?
Just today I have played both at a piano shop and I can say with confidence that the yamaha is far superior in terms of sound. It's much more like a real piano than fp90
@@tomekm6887 Hi friend, and please tell me, in terms of key action, which is better: more responsive, faster, more confortable, more high-end, more reliable, more balanced...?. Thanks!...
I have this great pîano-please how do I download the parttion I played registered in Users...Thanks.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Yamaha have done a fantastic job with this piano, but I ended up buying the Kawai ES8 and I’ll tell yu why ... I have Asperger’s syndrome which will cause me to get really distracted on certain things, often things that are not necessarily that important. I indeed have an interest for composition and Jazz and want to develop those skills to become more employable as a musician. However I’m currently studying piano at a conservatoire which means I’m spending long hours practising repertoire I need to learn for my next few lessons. I believe there’s a time anda place for track sequencers definitely especially if I find myself composing more regularly. However I have observed that this is a big distraction for pianists who want to currently be inspired with learning repertoire and preparing for recitals through their studies. I have owned Yamaha PSR E413 before with a 6 track built in sequencer, which obviously was useful for composition, but the problem was when I was assigned piano repertoire to learn and practise for the next lessons, I got so distracted on that one idea about the sequencer that I didn’t think about anything else ... then when I got to the lesson I didn’t feel good about myself at all and I had to admit to my teacher the reasons for having not practiced :p :p :p ... I think a lot of people are dedicating themselves to a certain area of creativity like gigging and composition which is fine, but the classical repertoire for piano is so diverse and you can just learn so much about who you are I don’t feel like giving my time up to stop studying the repertoire, both for inspiration for ideas and also for further artistic development🎹❤️🥰🥰🥰🎶🎶🎶
Can someone tell me what kind of 1/4” cables he use for Aux in/out? Are they TRS cables?
I dont know but i have this keyboard and use a 1/4" TRS to TS cable to connect to to my Bose PA speaker and it works
MasterGrand how does it sound using PA speaker? Lot of people said monitor sounds better..
Alot better! I was actually amazed how much richness in sound quality is actually there. The built in speakers on the p515 are great but once you try it on some good speakers, you never wanna go back to the built-in ones lol
Hi! Can I ask what kind of cable you use to connect p515 to the interface?
Are they jack 6.3 only?
There's a 6.3 and a 3.5 stereo headphone jack on the front left of the piano
Which has better piano sound? This one or the CP88 stage piano?
They have the same sample of the CFX and Bosendorfer
The quality of the sound from de CP88 will depend on your speaker sistem cause it doesn't have internal ones
What if you have really good speakers on the CP88?... will it be better than the p 515?
Daniel A. Yes - good external speakers will always beat the built-in speakers - but it is nice to have the sound emanating from the piano itself - and of course is more convenient and tidy to have built-in speakers. I use my P515 with a small subwoofer to fill out the low end. Works great so I haven't felt the need to add external speakers.
Brick Missing ”to film out the low end” what does that mean? And what’s the difference between external speakers and a subwoofer? Thanks for answering!
The P515 internal speakers are fine for mid range and high notes - but they don't produce much bass - so on their own they produce a rather tinny light-weight sound. Adding an external subwoofer to handle the bass produces a big improvement. This doesn't need to be an expensive unit - I'm using an ancient Yamaha YST-MSW10 sub and it sounds great with the P515.
Awesome !👏👏👏👏
Great review, thanks.
I'm looking for a good stage piano professional, can you recommend this piano???
Hi, great video review, can you also tell me what the model is of piano stand you are using here please?
