Thx to my brother Brian for jumping on the bass on the NON REHEARSED encore!!...LOL.....Hope you all enjoy...God bless:-)
2020 who's here 🙏♥️
I’ve miss u guys so much
Was there at Oakwood Church when You All Blessed Us with your GOD given talent(s)
If I had a voice like any one of you guys, I think I'd sing every statement. Sounding that good after a single rehearsal? AWESOME! A blessing received aurally. Thank you!
I attended the "A Special Blend" concert in milton keynes (must have been the late 80s) Take 6 were called Assurance back then. Does anyone else remember that, or was there maybe? I fell in love with them then, I must have been about 12 yrs old now 36yrs and love the music. Put God 1st guys, the world needs a blessing. JC
I too was at that concert in Milton Keynes. It was an Assurance concert; i think their ( Take 6) first concert in England.
@@lsterl course you were Lloydie boy! Did it take you 10yrs to reply to this for real??
This brings back wonderful memories of my short time spent at Oakwood.
I love the reunion, i think Special blend was indeed very special. I raised my kids off this sound which included Take 6, Joe Sample,Manhattan Transfer,George Duke,Stanley Clarke,EW&F,MJ,Janet,Mariah,Brian McKnight,Commissioned and Boyz2Men... to name a few.
My musical transformation has even gone to the extent where there is some Latin people in it who can forget Selena who can forget Gloria Estefan Tito Puente is among other Sheila E just a lot of great sound close you can forget James Brown we can't get forget the 4 tops but Special Blend provides the Harmony that touches your soul allows you to reflect and a table and clock McKnight and the rest of the group did a great job of of touching our hearts and I'm putting everything in perspective I'm very happy that this till around very happy to have down there still groove in and I look forward to hearing more about them is life goes on so on this should be fixed elebration big shout out to Special Blend take 6 and all the groups. How about Oakwood around the eighty's I must say that it was probably the most challenging time of my life the most important because music made it made it happen
They sound as wonderful as ever .... No one sounds rusty at all 🤗👍🏽🙏🏽
Thanks so much Claude for posting this! Great video, great singing, great everything! I'm adding this to my 'favorites'!
I am so elated to locate this video, especially finding out that one of my favorite vocal groups, A Special Blend, have come together again. I have always loved their unbeatable harmonizing, since I first heard their cassette in 1985, "Nowhere But Up!" Just sanging and intricate music playing, without loudness or ten thousand vocal runs!!! Thank you very much, and may God continue to keep up abundantly blessed! :)
This really takes me back...thanks for the memories, thanks for everything...remember those horrid sack lunches we used to get on Friday afternoon...this music made those lunches (and registration) worth the torture. Again, thanks for the memories.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I want MY CD,, oops I mean the latest digital media thingy going!!!
( at least I didn’t say ALBUM!!)
Y’all look an sound AMAZING!!!
Like college kids!!!
have you noticed that adventist have a different sound then other denominations? nice vid
It's almost like every denomination has their own unique sound 🤔
WOW WOW WOW !!! I've been waiting for this kind of footage for years ;) ;) Thanks so much for sharing Claude !!! -JB
Yes! great moments, Claude!
Thanks for sharing!
There are no words to describe this spiritual and music experience!
a blessing 25 years ago and still a blessing today
You all haven't missed a beat. Sound as good as you did when we were at Oakwood all those years ago. lol Brings back a lot of memories.
This really was nice, I wished I could have made it to Alumni to hear this live. Joya has such an amazing voice!
So many memories in that choir room
Beautiful!
Reminds me of Sabbath afternoon in Kimbrough Hall, this would be playing on the loud speaker...good ole Pine Forge days!!
No Mervyn? :/
I love this!!!
Sounds like they need to be putting out another album. Still, they sound like they haven't missed a beat since they parted those 25 years ago. This is truly amazing!
One mo' comment, their rendition of "When We All Get To Heaven" was a totally eargasmic experience (might have to smoke a cigarette after listening to that)! God truly blessed the people to sing! I truly enjoyed this:)
It's almost unfair of how good a singer mark kibble is... Smh
Praise God!!
Why wasn't Mervyn a part of this?
Claude that voice is amazing bro!
Goodday to you, mr "B"...!
I hope you can appreciate an honest remark concerning this reuniting of "special blend"?🌺
You already stated (in your own words) that even with quite a few years in between "it was hardly notacible". And although I enjoy the music, I also enjoy the natural things that make it flow into one and other. I also already noticed that certain moments of recording had been adjusted. Like in this filmrecording I just saw again. It wouldn't surprise me if slightly there would be present the strive to make it look effortless and perfect. And that's what it was to begin with. What shows the perfection even more is the four of you having a small conversation at the end of the performance and (a hardly to be called) rehearsal concerning a song(as an "encore") where it was even a bit "tricky"- since it had been so long ago. But it did work out! Not one note off key! THAT was fun to watch too! And now it's taken out 😞! A real pity! Seriously! Please put it back in again? It's more like a complement than anything else!😏
Sincere regards in Christ Jesus Our Lord ✝️🌹,
A. DEE WAI.
YESSS!!
I'm upset that I didn't know about this... My favorite group of all time!!! Sorry Take 6, you guys are a close second!
Welll... That's a matter of opinion... :)
I liked at the very end, Mark said "you just witnessed a miracle" after your encore song! Lol. What we don't hear is when someone wanted them to do another song, Claude said something like "let's not temp Him" (or something like that). Lol
I'd buy a CD of this...
Yes! Where Was Merv? In an interview where they did an inpromptu version of A special blend, Claude was on camera and was like "MERV?! you gotta come back" or something to that effect. And On Face Book Mervyn got that message and said hed love to be involved the reunion... I wonder what happened? I know MW gets really busy with his music and film and stuff, maybe thats why/? :(
They need to use your perfectly tuned voices to tune that piano, lol !!!
Pure class !!
yah! When is the tour?! Please post when you are coming to Northern CA!
Where was Mervyn? This was his group...
Very nice! I enjoyed it a lot! When will the album come back into print?
All I can say is "Y'ALL BETTA SING!!!!"
@TURN, A Special Blend cd will be re released in 5 days on I Tunes by Mervyn, there will be no reunion tour unfortunately.
My goodness how I miss the old Moran Hall concerts. You guys were the best of the best! Is there any place where I can get your music? (cds or dvds)
Is there a DVD and/or a recording on this ?...I'll buy it !!
Where was Mervyn??
Is Mark Kibble the only one out of the group that is married? Never heard much about the sistas in the group. Any word on a reunion tour or CD that the group may work on (with or without Mervyn)???
The voices are beautiful but the background music really need to be tuned up !
They edited it out in this version of the upload, but there was a woman in the audience that drew attention because of her "excessive" praise moves. Quotes are being used because only God judges the legitimacy, but all I am saying is there were edited parts in this video.
Lori Bryan
THANK YOU for uploading this. Finally a version of the song that isn't warped, lol. I've been listening to tapes recorded from the phonographs all these years.
